I've been looking for a good, oldschool RPG to play, and I figure what could be better than FF? 7 was the first I had ever played, So id like to play 1-6, Which should I start with, or should I just start at 1?
I love reading text boxes too, probably because you dont have to listen to awful voices.Enigmers said:Final Fantasy 6 was more compelling (to me) in half an hour than Final Fantasy 13 was in 29 hours. I guess it has to do partly with the text-boxes instead of audio dialogue (I'm old-school that way). Another good one to try is Final Fantasy Tactics. If you can grab hold of FF9, it's got a lot of throwbacks to the older games (and is my personal favourite).
I had 4 for the DS, no idea what I did with it though, but, Im probably going to get the SNES versions. The Madman said:Final Fantasy 6 is probably my favorite, you can pick up the version for GBA and play it on a DS easy enough as well.
Final Fantasy Tactics was like cocaine for me, I played the everliving hell out of FFTA/A2, I had the PsP FFT, but I gave my PsP to my dad a while ago.Treeinthewoods said:Dude, you should play Final Fantasy Tactics. That game is good (unlike Final Fantasy 6).
I've played like a hundred and fifty hours or more of FFTA2, and I've only beaten it once.DarkInsight said:Final Fantasy Tactics was like cocaine for me, I played the everliving hell out of FFTA/A2, I had the PsP FFT, but I gave my PsP to my dad a while ago.Treeinthewoods said:Dude, you should play Final Fantasy Tactics. FF 1-7, original Zelda, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Crusader of Centy, etc.DarkInsight said:I've been looking for a good, oldschool RPG to play, and I figure what could be better than FF? 7 was the first I had ever played, So id like to play 1-6, Which should I start with, or should I just start at 1?
Graphics arent a huge issue for me, I've always loved sprites, no idea why. Off-topic though, Dragon Quest 9 does look really good, but I have never played -any- of those.Nickisimo said:4 and 6 are great. 1 is only good if you can tolerate the old-school graphics(although I guess there are a ton of newer ports for that).
Or...you could wait about a week and check out Dragon Quest 9 for the DS. That's gonna be some sweet old-school RPG action(now with mute protagonist customization!).
YES! Do it!DarkInsight said:Ahh Chrono Trigger, I had forgot to look for that, I always hear people raving over it and I've never played that.
