So after beating Dragon Age Origins ( which compare to Mass effect was quite dull during a majority of the game.I really dislike games where every NPC in the game wants to tell you their life story ). In the past few months I've beaten games such as Fallout 3, Oblivion, Mass Effect and even a little bit of Elder scrolls but now I feel my RPG void again and I'm itching for a good solid RPG once more. Any recommendations?

Final Fantasy tactics (I have only played the ones on GBA and DS) plays sort of like a Western Turn based strategy despite being made by square. There is a lot of min/maxing, and finding combos of abilitys and equipment that are incredibly unbalanced.

If you're not a big fan of thew talky talky, give Borderlands a try, it's very shooter focused, with RPG style levelling.

There's Fable 2 too, but that game tends to divide people and is probably a rent-it first kind of game.

If you haven't already, try Mount & Blade. It's really good (with mods, decent without, I recommend Prophecy of Pendor, Native Expansion, and if you're into the Wild West, 1866).

Anything by Troika Games. But Arcanum:Of Steamworks and Magical Obscura THE longest RPG, short of some of the Ultima games. Also very entertaining and almost infinitly replayable. Better than any RPG to date.

Also Ultima 7 & Ultima 7 Part 2 took me a week to finish each and I was using a walkthrough. Old RPGS rock.

How do you think I feel?

Oh well.

On-topic:MORROWIND. If you haven't played it already.

Otherwise, Puzzle Quest. The AI's a cheap bastard sometimes, but its still great fun, and is literally on everything. (DS, PSP, 360, PC, PS2/3, Wii)

Final Fantasy Tactics (The PSP remake preferably if you can find it) or FF6 I spent a long time playing those games.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

It's in first/third-person mode, highly intriquing, exceptionally well written plots and dialogue, funny as hell at times and immersive. Also has replayability value since the different bloodlines you build your character around are highly varied. YOu don't get exp for killing enemies, but completing missions and objectives. Killing two dozen guards around your objective is not required and is sometimes outright discouraged. There are always at least three ways to do things, each way requiring different skills.

Just a hint if you go trought with the Bloodlines: don't play as a Malkavian the first time. While the conversations are fun non-sequiturs most of the time, they can also be somewhat hard to follow. And the Malkavian insights are somewhat spoilers within the game, but that is one of the main strenghts of that Clan. It simply reduces plot intrique if you're a Malkavian on the first playtrough.

Planetvampire says this about malkavians:

Merits: Due to their unique 'insights' the Malkavians get a +2 bonus to their Inspection feat and the voices they hear will sometimes give them helpful clues.

Flaws: They're completely mad. Of course, madness is a subjective thing. Those afflicted with it might regard it as a gift more so than a malady. The forms that the madness takes run the gamut of known archetypes - from the loony prankster to the tripped out conspiracy nut to the stoic but sadistic psychopath who might seem outwardly normal and not reveal the extent to which insanity rages within him. Their dialog is always bizarre and sometimes entirely incomprehensible. The voices aren't always right, or even telling the truth.

And they are right about voices. Oh boy are they right. Highly discerning to be in a dialogue with a female vampire, discuss about their past, hear their childhood is off-limits as a topic and then hear a child sobbing and begging for mercy from your speakers even as the conversation carries on...

Dark Cloud or Dark Chronicle (2).

It doesn't matter which you play, the stories aren't related at all really, just some cameos. The combat isn't turn-based, and you level your weapons to make them the most badass pieces of steel evarr!

I'm sorry to say but apparently you haven't played a single RPG yet and you don't seem to enjoy them much if Dragon Age got on your nerves :p
What you did play were basically Shooters/Sandbox games with a RPG-coat. Maybe you should go that way and try out more shooters instead.
What.......

since when was oblivion not an rpg, I mean I can kinda understand the fallout 3, but that's mainly an rpg, and mass effect...... well, thats an rpg. WTF are you talking about sir!

Well, Dragon Age seems like the tedious DnD/LotR rip-off kind of RPG so perhaps there's some hope yet. I do agree that those games are Action/Shooter RPG, not "real" RPG.

Anyway, Knights of the Old Republic or Jade Empire seeing how you like Bioware?
