There was a problem in my neighborhood with high school kids comming around and throwing rocks on our neighbors roof, don't ask me why, I don't know. That stopped really quick when said neighbor caught them in the act and walked outside with a shotgun, watching them run screaming down the street was one of the funniest things i'd ever seen, haven't seen them since.

Anyone throws stuff at my house and I go outside with my shotgun. If they don't run for the hills when I cock it, I start shooting until it stops moving. I have good aim, so it won't take much.
Do you guys live next door?
Unlikely considering I live in the US. You know, if you bought a can of wasp spray, the ones that can spray 20 feet or so, and a lighter, you could do short bursts of flame to scare the hell out of them. XD

You might laugh, but it's actually very effective at scaring away people you don't want getting close to you. I recommend it for women that often drive along in their cars as well.

Well this time is different my dad went outside on the phone to the police and the one of the gang asked "why arnt you chasing us?"

Anyway long story short my dad told them about his medical conditions and my mothers, both involing heart troubles and disabilties. The group said sorry, the didnt know but to top it off, one of them asked this:

"Do you know anyone who would chase us?"
i think if anything that shows that todays youth are allright. sure they vandalise stuff but according to you when your father explained his medical condition these no good kids said sorry and moved on. not wanting to pick on someone who has a heart condition.

sounds like they are out for abit of fun, it might get out of hand sometimes but boys will be boys and all that.

from your post they seem to have some values like respecting their elders and not picking on defenceless old men but dont have the values of personal property

That's hilarious. They are just being kids, grandpa.
I remember doing shit like that when I was younger, and now I am one intelligent fucker.

Again, fun is the motive here. They're not looking to do any serious harm obviously so why disrespect them for that? Seems like a very weak excuse.

The thrill of any chase is rather fulfilling to ones adrenaline I'll give 'em that...
Clearly they just wanted somebody to chase them and had ´no problem in asking.
As ignorant and stupid as it was. I'd rather shoot the kid for messing up my lawn and throwing stones at my window than asking a dumb-ass question.
But I can see where the respect has been lost for todays youth in similar examples too.

Good health to your Mom and Dad and I Hope the kids have moved on bothering a Pro-football player or runner or something.

Send em to me, I'll chase em.... If they can out run my 3 1/2in 00 buckshot I'll offer them a second chance to run if they want. I don't fuck around with people trying to throw rocks at me or my house, just like that Grandma awhile back.

Care to guess how many people throw rocks at my house?
Well.... I'm not behind bars yet.

when has anyone older ever had any respect for those younger? Join the club, i havent had any respect to those younger than me ever since i first became a senior at any thing.

Respect is earned, not given.

well actually that pretty much is the same, but out of different reasons..
I'm a product of said type of parenting, though in my case it was mainly 'We don't give a fuck about you', more so than being busy or thinking that no parenting is good parenting.

I am not saying what reasons there are for that type of parenting being employed, but I feel that a good deal of today's maladjusted youth stems from either the lack of (in this case) or excessive presence of parents in the lives of their children.

Thats actually kind of funny, getting a thrill being chased. Kinda sad at the same time too.

Thrills come from Living, but unfortunately modern society is against living.

This doesn't seem so bad...I mean, from the sounds of it, they didn't damage the window, and when your father explained the medical issues, they moved on. Sounds pretty damn decent to me.
Though, I wouldn't be surprised if this story ended with forced entry and armed robbery.

That one is a possibility. But, from the sounds of it, these are just kids looking for some entertainment.

My next-door neighbour got robbed in broad daylight. Some kid...maybe slightly younger than me, went through their back door, grabbed a set of car keys and dropped a passport belonging to somebody else down the road.
So my road was victim to a one-man crime spree. I suspect it was the same guy that was standing at the bottom of my drive, staring through the front window in a cap, trying to see if the dog barking in the window was a terrier on a table or a seething mass of muscle.
We've not been broken into yet, so I'm going to guess he worked out which one the dog was.

Now that's what marks the difference between crime and shenanigans. Stealing a tram and driving it along its empty route? Shenanigan. Inciting people to chase you down the road? Shenanigan. Breaking into a house and attempting to steal a car? Crime.

Its disgusting the amount of disrespect alot of teens have (and this is coming from a 19 YO), the other night I was working with my State Emergency Service crew on a Public relations event, and the kids were disrespectful to us, and within 20 minutes, there was a brawl. they stole gear out of our truck and the cops were called and arrested 4 of them.

We work towards HELPING them and educating them in safety, etc and we get shit stolen and dicked around for 2 hours.

That and the kid who stood up for himself copping flak for doing it... whats this generation coming too!!??!!

Todays kids are the most stupid and arrogant kids ever born. On top of this they are also self destructive as I have seen 10 yr olds try to start fights with 18 yr olds. No other creature does this as they know that they would get slaughtered if they were top pick on someone so much bigger. Personally I think we should drop the law protecting kids for a month and let nature sort them out.

To be honest, the example quoted isn't too bad. They might be bastards, but at least it's obvious that they're just looking for a bit of excitement, not trying to harm anybody, which can't be said for a lot of juvenile thugs.

All I need to do is go to school and I see stupidity from the younger year levels (I'm in year 12 (senior)). I won't explain what they do because it would be too long and I'm tired.
I feel your pain. Some of those creatures are barely fucking sentient. I wish we had different corridors, so I didn't have to walk near them.

Go to a school which is broken up into different blocks and therefore doesn't have corridors? :p

How does it manage not to have corridors?

I've been asking myself this a lot recently. Running a supermarket, I get a lot of aggro from the local high school kids, causing trouble, stealing, intimidating elderly customers and I actually had one lad tell one of my store assistants to "Suck my balls you stupid fucking ****", after she asked him if he had been stealing, due to a customer pointing him out.

Unfortunately its the eternal question though [pointed out to me by that classic of a movie, the Breakfast Club]

Are the kids actually getting worse, or are we just getting older?
