Well, number one, what do you mean "governer of a small town in alaska"? She was MAYOR of a small town in Alaska, but governor of the entire STATE of Alaska.

+++++

And number two, as far as corruption in Alaska, the state she was governor of:

Ted Stevens, a pillar of the Senate for 40 years and the face of Alaska politics almost since statehood, was convicted of a seven-felony string of corruption charges Monday

Thank you very much for mentioning that. I was just about to do so.

Remember, folks... this is also the "the internet is a series of tubes" guy...

If you put a tax on people with income of 250k+ a year then no one will want to work and you can't expand the company.
I'll take the job from those who wont do it! Besides it's not like the UK was a few decades ago, 80% tax for high income earners!

I heard in the newspaper that there was a plot to kill Obama but the assassins were thrown in jail.

This was caused by the republicans encouraging racism.

Dunno if everyone saw this, but it's somewhat off topic, but it's a gas.

Part 1 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjxzmaXAg9E

Part 2 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJghQMq49dw

I'm not advertising for anyone, I don't care who made it, why they made it, or if I should care why they made it, I just thought it was lovely footage/audio.

If those are the people who support McCain.. . . . .

Doesn't matter who you vote for, what they say will do with taxes, healthcare, the war, etc. Bigger government = bigger spending, smaller government = probable threat to national security. It's just the way it works. Whoever you choose, you will either pay more taxes or out of pocket expenses, you'll get drafted and they won't, they'll send their kids to private schools while federally funding public schools, etc. In the end you lose, they win.

PS: I hate McCain and Obama.

Um...

Canada has a scaled tax system whereby the more money you make the greater % of taxes you pay. Its kind of unfair but at the same time it kind of works. It hasn't killed our economy yet so I don't know why it would kill yours.
aagh your keyword here is: YET
Well NOT having those taxes certainly hasn't helped your economy and HERE's some actual proof of how MORE government isn't necessarily bad.

Canada has STRONG banking regulations, and many government run banks...

None of our Banks have failed yet. Apparently we're doing something right. Our only big economic mistake it seems was relying on you guys not to fuck up your economy and keep buying stuff from us.

Do you know the fractional lending ratio of your bank? How is it strong/stronger compared to other banks in the world? Who owns your banks? Do you know the president of your own bank? What family he belongs to? Who does your local politician bank with? If you can't answer these, you probably know less about your banks than you think.

I know enough to know that we do it differently than you guys do in the states, here we won't let just anyone open up a Savings and Loan.

As well I feel secure enough with Canadian banking since we've lost only a few small regional banks over the 150 years of our nations history, hell we didn't even lose any major banks during the great depression (The Canadian Big 5, BMO, RBC, TD, SIBC and SB, where most Canadian's do their banking).

I really don't know jack about Canada's banking system and regulations. I was trying to see if there's anything in specific that made them significantly different from other banks in the world.
