I have gotten so unbearably close, but my mind always seems to outsmart me. Almost every time I realize its a dream, before I can do anything, I dream that I am waking up. Of course then I think I am awake, so I don't think to do any dream tests, and I go on with my dream.

I am trying to lucid dream more often, I have been trying to keep a dream journal for a while, and I am trying to do dream tests as often as I can. Lately though I have just been to lazy and I haven't been doing these things as often as I should.

Well, they all vary a lot.

In my dream last night I had um... that disease that makes limbs die and fall off. I forget what it's called.

No one seemed to care no matter how much I cried for help.
Awwww, sorry about that.

I once had a dream that I was captured by Terrorists who wanted me to deliver asparagus (or something like that) to their buddies in a school. After a terrrorist women puts some gum in my hair (like a jerk) I go to the school and deliver the food, only to be hunted down by a man with a freeze ray. I find a fairy god mother and tell her to get me out of the school, so she teleports my to some place in France (I think) where I meet a famous boy who has no bones but can play a strange sport where he bounces around in a giant bounce house areana. I use a pip boy 3000 to teleport home, and then I either woke up or can't remember the rest.

Yeah, sometimes. It's very cool. I usually use it to engineer sex dreams and/or avoid nightmares.

Yes, I have engineered my own sex dreams before. It was awesome.

Lucid dreaming is when someone is aware he or she is in a dream, and thus can do whatever he or she desires. This has happened to me twice. Once, I went into a dream knowing what it was and decided I would become a bandit and fly away. The other time I was in a van and I asked the guy next to me if I was in a dream or not, and he smiled. Then I woke up. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
I have. Once. It was strange. Also, I made a topic about this months ago about the best way to induce one, and yet I still haven't been able to do it on my own. The one I had happened on accident.

Im a for-real insomniac, and i do that on occasion. I always called it halfsleep, where i dream on purpose about whatever im thinking about, and i create lots of ideas for stories and games like that too.

I've actually been trying to induce a WILD (Wake-Induced Lucid Dream), but I can't quite seem to cross the threshold. When I am inside a dream, however, I don't ever seem to come to the realization that I am.

so have I. I have had no progress to this point.

Yeah, especially when I'm hopped up on cigarettes and coffee and really stressed out. I'll both dream/hallucinate while awake and also lucid dream.

I've even outlined homework, practiced for things (like work), and done other useful things while dreaming. Once I wrote and memorized about a page of my research paper while sleeping, woke up and typed it out.

I often will wake up in a dream, or think I have, and still be dreaming, too. That's always annoying -- I'll think I'm all showered and dressed just to realize I hit the snooze button.

Ever heard of Astreal projection? Its like being on drugs without the negative health issues. I'm experimenting and I've already seen some crazy shit.

Leprosy? Either that or gangrene, but I don't think limbs actually fall off in either case.

I haven't lucid dreamt yet, but I have zombied my way through something while in a light sleep. I'd snap out of it and have gone through Razorfen with no recollection of the middle part of the dungeon, only either beginning or queueing up.

I'm sure I have, but I have a recurring in dream in which I wake up from that dream. I'll dream that I just woke up and that everything in the house is fine. Not a single thing out of a place and then suddenly I'll realize that I am dreaming and wake up, but the exact same thing happens again. I've had nights where this happens one after the other about 5 times till I finally wake up for real. Or maybe this is thread is a dream, and maybe the movie Inception was created in my mind and that Christopher Nolan is someone whom I made up. Maybe we're all dreaming, could it be possible that we're in the Matrix?

...

Probably not.

Nope.

I've tried, but never to any avail.

My antidepressants give me pretty vivid and disturbing dreams, and I remember being told they make it impossible to have lucid dreams.

Would be nice if I could - you know, to lessen the horror factor of them.
I could be wrong, but I believe Melatonin makes dreamless sleep. I honestly have a problem with them though, I was becoming to dependent on them to get to sleep, so I don't recommend it.

OT: I know I have had some a long time ago. Except I had no control in the dream. It was the craziest thing ever.

I was being chased by a ravenous Honeycomb animal, and I kept trying to wake myself up. I even ran to my mom, but I remembered her being on the phone and it eventually caught up to me.

Seriously, this little crack addicted rabies infected Squirrel should not be alive.

I'm pretty sure if I did have one I'd just waste it on a sex dream.

Lately because of the stress of school, I've been dreaming a lot more (or remembering more dreams anyway). And in a lot of them, I feel like my mind would alter the dreams in some way.
Like the one I had about being a ninja but I couldn't find my sword. I'm surrounded by 20 other ninjas, and all of a sudden there's a sword in my hand... that's electrified. Needless to say, I proceeded to go Ryu Hayabusa on those damn ninjas.

I've never had a dream where I'm aware and can decide what I want to do. Almost all of my dreams play out like the most horribly-written, random, weird stories you'd ever read. And usually I can't remember half of what I dreamed about.

For some strange reason I can do it all the time, ever since I conquered a recurring nightmare. I can willingly change the setting of my dream, create objects from thin air and drag in other people into my dream. This is very useful if ever I'm in trouble in my dream.
If all seems lost and it looks like I'm going to die in my dream I simply wake myself up by telling myself to wake up.
I guess I'm just able to do this because I realise I'm dreaming and if I'm dreaming then I can do whatever the hell I want. I also have VERY vivid dreams.

I have once. I was being chased by zombies so I ran myself over with a truck and woke up.

In hindsight, that seems less than healthy.
