In reach so far I have 3 or 4 killing frenzies, and in halo 3 I only got 2 and I played that game since last summer. I suppose with the dmr and pistol it may be easier to steal kills, as now their shields have to be down in oder to get a melee kill, unlike halo 3. Or it may be skill. I just don't know.

CoD 4, nothing more than a suppressed MP5 with no ammo and an M40 sniper. About to win the game of HQ, turned around, knifed someone, took an RPG, nearly dead, sniped the guy whose back you could see out of a window and killed him, then I finished capturing the base.


All in 30 seconds cause it was a speed mod.

The first thing that springs to mind is the time I won my first championship belt in Fight Night Round 4.

Last round of a 12 round fight, I was down massively on points, but got a good round in where I hit my opponents face tens of times. With 30 seconds to go I was declared winner by TKO.

That's the nearest I came to a loss in my 51 fight career.

Planetside, New Conglomerate, Jackhammer and regular armor:

I going up on a hill. Mid way, Terran mech (missle one) appears over the horizon on top of this hill. So I stop advancing as I see him. He doesn't see me until he started to descend on the hill. He starts shooting at me. I really had nothing for him unless he gets close. For those of you not familiar with Planetside, Jackhammers is a shotgun that had a really nasty secondary fire that would unload a 3 rounds of ammo in succession. So I started to run towards a tree while dodging missles. With half my health, I make it behind the tree. As I peek around this tree, he is coming at me firing but doesn't do much damage. Now, he is chasing me around this tree. So now, I am in business since is he is at close range. I shoot him him down at quarter of his health, circling clockwise and counter-clockwise, over and over for atleast 5 minutes till I finally caught him from behind and let him have some secondary fire. Dum Mech.

At the end, with 5% of my health left and kinda filled with adrenaline in RL. I found 3 guys on my side looking at what just happened who didn't help me and laughing. I was kinda pissed off.

It's sudden death on TF2 and I'm stuck as a sniper, which I had just been doing terrible as. I decided to hang back and try to pick off anybody on the other team who came near our base. The rest of my team went on ahead and ended up getting wiped out, leaving me alone to deal with the five remaining members of the other team. As they were all heading towards where I was, I started taking shots at them. I ended up scoring five headshots in a row and won us the round. To top it off, I found the Professional's Panama the next round.

Making it up the spinning tower of blades in God of War 1. I'm not lucky because I completed the feat, I'm lucky because I didn't decide to break my goddamned TV in the process.

I feel your pain. That section drove me nuts... Kratos so much as brushed his shoelace off one of those things and it was wheeeeeeee splat.

They admitted it was the one section they neglected to playtest, actually.

I had no idea it would become such a collector's item. And yes, I still have it.

I got an 'Extermination'(killing the entire enemy team in under 10 seconds) medal just a few days ago on Halo 3. I managed to kill 3 guys with one plasma grenade before killing the last 2 with a sniper and another plasma grenade. I nearly cried with astonishment....

I can't speak for myself on this one, but a close friend had an AFK encounter last month..
Was going to a electronics store to buy a copy of SC2 the day after release. This electronics store isn't famous for having educated staff. But they're cheap as dirt.
He got there, SC2 was like ?40 I Think. (Collector's Edition being ?60)
He gets to the counter, asks for a copy and the 30-something woman looks around and goes
"Well we don't have the regular ones, but someone didn't pick up their big box one in time so I guess we'll have to sell it."
He replies "Nah I just want the regular one, I'll go somewhere else, thanks"
And she replies "Well since noone has come to claim this big box so you can have it for ?35 if you just take it off my hands."

I saw the receipt. I'm proud to say I didn't strangle him on the spot...

That was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky.

Can't remember what gym leader it was but they had taken my team apart and the last pokemon would not fall. Got it down to no energy and only had a magikarp left. Went for tackle for the laugh, their pokemon missed it's move and Magikarp hit a critical.

One funny moment I can think of is the Split/Second demo, before it came out, I was playing my first ever race, I was behind the whole race, and it was pretty intense. By the third lap I was getting the hang of things and I had gone up a couple of places. I got round to the plane bit, I had saved up my power bar so I activated the plane, it came down in spectacular fashion and got a 4-in-1. By this time I was second and chasing the last guy, I then took a short cut after I had filled the bar again by drifting down the runway, and I was now first. It got down to the last corner and I smashed into a wall, but was still first. I gained up speed and headed towards the finish line. The car in second place caught up to me at the finish line and we both finished at what looked like the same time... it was, but still ended up winning for some reason! I couldn't believe that we finished at the EXACT same time, down to .01 of a second. It was at that moment when I pre ordered the game

TL;DR: I won my first Split/Second race by .01 of a second.

Calling a random air strike in Wolfenstein: ET and getting about six kills.

It's also good on Brawl to just taunt and piss about for the first minute or so and then finish all of your opponents of without causing anyone any damage.

Halo: Reach Campaign, beginning of Exodus on Legendary, three suicide grunts kill themselves and they fly around and when they exploded they killed me, it was a hilarious 5 minutes I blame stosh.

I was playing Halo Reach recently, on legendary firefight mode. I see an incoming phantom, so I jetpack, pull out my rocket launcher, and fire two shots near the landing zone. A moment later, I hear the announcer:

Overkill. KillTACULAR. Killamanjaro! KILLIONAIRE!

It felt so good until I got blasted by an elite half a minute later.

It's weird. It's like Reach tapped into my greater Halo skills. In Halo 3 I got one perfection ever, and I boosted for it to get the achievement with some friends. (I'm not proud of it, but I did). Since I got Reach I've had (In all matchmade modes): 150 Killing Sprees, about 50 Killing Frenzies, 25 Running Riots, 10 Rampages or so, and 2 perfections, both legit. I don't know what it is, but I think I've improved. (Also got a Be the bullet and a Red Menace, not to mention a couple of Road rages...)

OT: I think my luckiest moment in gaming was probably playing Gears 2 online, In ranked Guardian, I was the last guy alive and our leader was dead. Their entire team was still alive, including their leader. I had ran over to their side, and grabbed the frags, blind threw one of them, and got all five of them, including the leader for the victory. Epic.
Also once, on Halo 3, I was playing team sniupers on construct. Went backwards into the big orange booster, spun round for a laugh, ended up getting a 900 degrees no scope headshot on the guy at the top. WIN

on Pokemon SoulSilver i was facing Blue, and i managed to get him down to his last Pokemon, his Gyarados.

anyway, it damn near swept all my team except for my Feraligatr. my Feraligatr managed to get it down to low health, but had taken a shit-ton of damage, one more attack would have killed it. anyway, with superior speed, i had to choose the right attack to take it down, if i didn't it would kill my Feraligatr and i would lose. i chose to use Shadow Claw, since Gyarados doesn't have a resistance to it, and what do you know...CRITICAL HIT. Gyarados dead, i win and i loudly proclaim "FUCK YEAH".

I actually had a moment yesterday while playing MW2 where I thought "Wow, if there is a thread on the Escapist about lucky moments in games, I'm gonna use this." Ironically I've forgotten what happened.

I do remember another moment in L4D2 where I went to crown a witch with a chrome shotgun when I got mobbed by the horde. I fired though and missed, pissing off the witch in the process. With my aim being totally fucked up by the infected surrounding me, I made a desperate last shot before the witch downed me. The shot managed to headshot her. I was so relieved.
