I am pretty sure he's reflecting to "space marines" like Gears of War and possibly the protagonists in Starcraft 2. Two games who depict some serious brotherhood between guys in power armor.

As for 40k, well, The Emperors Children are probably pretty close to gay, being pink dressed hedonists in service of the god of pleasure and pain, Slaanesh...

Just cause the one guy who works for this website can make ****** jokes and it's okay, doesn't mean it's okay for gay ****** text to be the norm.

Asking about sexual preference is as fucked as asking for moral ideals.

Report me since I typed the word ******.

Then I can report the guy who made the comic calling people cheap faggots for paying for xbox live!

I have been wanting to say ****** since the one mod did. I hope to be as dumb and a fuck head as he was.

I dunno...Gears of War seems to be leaning towards that, though it's been said already from what I've read.

Come on people he's only saying what the gaming comunnity has been saying for years that a level of homoerotic military war stories either modern or future space combat have taken quite a large presence in the games that are getting made instead of exciting new ones.

I find it somewhat hilarious how many people get upset over this statement. Let's face it, most games are on the same level as 1980's-1990's Action Flicks with Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Segal, Dolph Lundgren and the Governator. A rock hard male protagonist, lots of guns, explosions and bad guys who are about to get their asses kicked. Add to this the bromance seen in some games (GoW, Army of Two, StarCraft II, Mass Effect II to some extent and so on) and you are bound to reach the same conclusion as this guy.

Western Games today are tesosterone fests in the same way as those 80's and 90's flicks were. Gamers get the occasional Aliens or Starship Troopers, but mostly it is just big men, big guns, big explosions. And Bromance.

Warhammer 40k space marines are not gay, if they are, then who the fuck cares because they still kick ass
Don't they have to be? As well as incestuous. Given that they're all clones and not allowed near women? Although they're also sterile...so I'm not sure if that would really work.

No SC female marines apart from Token Kerrigan though.
Nah they're more like priests in the aspect that they just take vows and such because, well, they're superhuman. Also they aren't clones, at all.

Well, given they are all grown from selected seeds; genetically and surgically altered to be superhuman and then indoctrinated - with each carrying it's own seed that it passes onto the next - what would you call them?
Especially as there's an entire sub-section of the gay community reveling in Clone apparel.

...They are not grown from seeds, Each chapter has worlds that they recruit from the local populace, then they have the recruits go through trials ans such and if they pass, then they are surgically altered with all the enhancements like a second heart, and all the other random enhancements they get like their ability to resist almost all toxins and what not. Then they are surgically implanted with the gene-seed. The gene-seed is passed down and kept so the chapter can continue to recruit, that allows the human body to become superhuman. The Gene-seed is removed from dead space marines for theses reasons.

I think you may have some other space marines confused idk

Eh, it might just be me, but I never imagined Master Chief as a homosexual...
Nah, Master Chief has other kind of likes, and they don't involve either men or women. For example, he likes a female shaped hologram of a woman that tells him exactly what to do just like his "surrogate" caretaker, Dr. Halsey, did...also, on second thought, that AI hologram looks kinda like Dr. Halsey. Always there, always giving him orders, always parenting him, always...wait...

*Shivers*

They should stick to the gay dudes.
Just sayin'.
..Since when does Cortana look like Dr. Halsey? Have you played Halo Reach yet? They don't look a damned thing alike.

Of course, I won't deny the "relationship" between Cortana and the Master Chief. But even that is driven way out of proportion. (Despite the fact that Cortana is the hottest batch of data streams I've ever seen.. shut up!)

OT: Jackass is being a jackass for the media. What else is new?
Sorry to break it to you dude...but Cortana is Dr. Halsey's brain dump into an AI. She looks like a younger, curvier version of her; and also, they share the same voice actress. She's got all her memories and personality traits, as evidenced by Halo 3 (look for the Cortana terminal in the level 'Cortana' to see what I mean), and also as complemented by the books.

Sorry, but poor Johnny boy's got an Oedipus Complex. Meaning: He's a ************ (his own). Like, literally.

Don't worry, it's gonna be okay.
..I'm going to have to get back to you on this.

<_<

It was an off-the-cuff comment made in complete jest. Yes, there's some truth behind it, but I sincerely doubt the guy is a legitimate homophobe. Think of it as postmodern homophobia.

Anyways, I'd like to digress a little bit and say that people who project homo-eroticism onto every single game/book/movie need to shut the fuck up forever. Apparently I can't strike up a conversation with another male member of my species without some idiot, somewhere, claiming that I'm secretly wanting to sex him. At best, these "analysts" are reaching. At worst, they're betraying a variety of insecurities related to their own sexuality.

Hey! My space marine's sexual preferance is theyer own bissness!

What happens in the warp stay in the warp!
Unless a rip in space time opens and a space hulk comes out!
Then it doesnt stay in the warp and my sexually diverse space marine terminators are sent in to destroy the escape pods so the equally sexually challanged genstealers cannot get out and infest the nearest planet!!
now that's just warped....

sorry, couldn't resist.
Dont worry. One little pun wont cause any CHAOS ((*Khorne induced seizure*)) to insue.

Man speaks the truth.

Inb4 (ok, after) everyone throws a hissy fit because he used "gay" to degrade something. Srsly, who gives a shit?
Anyone over 13 without a superiority complex, there are far better more strong words that dont have a drop on effect of further dragging a beaten peoples name through the mud more. Guilty by association you attach the word gay to anything as a derogitory term and subconciously it sticks in peoples minds as the norm.

Gay space marines? I thought they're meant to be badass, as some of the renegade choices in Mass Effect 1/2 can clearly show.

Even then, I've been wanting my male Commander Shephard to have the option of being gay anyway, so it's not like I care how feminine they are.

Unless the producer's talking like: "Oh, wow, man. That is so gay." If so, he needs to stop being twelve.
