There have been a few topics about WHAT DO YOU WANT IN ES5:SKYRIM? But I'd like to focus purely on the intricacies of the magic system. Any Elder Scrolls mage can tell you of the sheer depth and flexibility that magic offers.

I know that most of these things could be done in mods, and probably even have been done in mods for Oblivion, actually. But still...What are some changes to the magic system that you would like built-in by default?

1. DEAR GOD, DON'T MAKE US GO THROUGH A BUNCH OF QUESTS IN DIFFERENT TOWNS OR BUY A DLC TO ACCESS SPELL CREATION AND ENCHANTMENT! SERIOUSLY, THAT PISSED ME OFF WITH MY DOZENS OF MAGE CHARACTERS!

I must have found J'skar at least 50 times! Even my warriors and rogues have to do this shit just to make healing spells.

2. Summoning multiple creatures. Permanent until death summons would be nice, for lesser creatures.

3. Slowly recharging enchantments, but not as slow as Morrowind, so that warriors don't need Mysticism or Soul Trap enchanted weapons to recharge their stuff.

4. I'd like Willpower to have an effect on how much a spell costs to cast, rather than just skill level in a Magic school. But still have skill level affect what spells can be cast. So that I can't summon a Storm Atronach at Level 5 in Conjuration thanks to a Willpower of 100.

5. Bring back a lot of effects from Morrowind, so that we can get crazy shit like the Boots of Blinding Speed again.

6. Total removal or fixing of the game-breaking effects like Reflect Damage or Chameleon. Do like the Shield effect, and make those effects cap at 85% or something similar.

7. Once a day powers that aren't shit. Seriously. I'm giving up some permanant stat bonuses here, give me something good. Not shit like "The Serpent".

8. An anti-Charm, to make people hate you, but not like Frenzy, which makes them attack you or others.

I would really like to see some of the unattainable/staff only by normal means spells from Oblivion (knockback, resurrect/necro) become available. As well as better spell animations. I know that's not much to ask but it's the little things that make the difference.

And these three, especially #3. If you were a warrior class with enchanted weapons it was a ***** to recharge them.

Totally. There was an unmarked quest you could do to get a once-a-day necro power in Shivering Isles, but I'd like to do it more, without carrying the staff around, either.

Btw, your avatar is bloody amazing.

I want more MP in general so I can craft vastly powerful spells at upper levels if I feel like it.

Also, how about a few spells that are only available for vampires? That would be cool as well.

Oh, that was the Hill of Suicides, right? I never did find any more than one of the skulls. The dungeons were a little too cavernous and full of nooks and crannies for me to really explore. Except the one with the giant drop, I LOVED that one.

And thank you. :D

Maybe Absorb Health could be exclusive to vampires? And transferred to a different school of magic than Restoration.

I agree with you on bringing back many of the effects from Morrowind again. I want levitation! *sniff*. I would also like to be able to add more than one enchantment to my enchanted weapons and armor. It annoys me so much that I can only add one enchantment to weapons or armor.

Oh god. That pit was INSANE.

I used the intranets to find them all. Worth it, imo. Not having to lug the staff around on a low strength mage.

"The first one you mentioned I hated the MOST, at least let me if I'm a master thief to break into the university!"

Aye. But it is for balance's sake. Maybe weapons could have a power cap for enchantments based on weapons strength and quality? And the ability to remove them, too.

I call for the return of Mark & Recall spells.

That, was something that was usefull. And for the housedecorating geek like me, a lock spell would be cool too. I'm weird allright? :p

Maybe some partial lock-on, so that it will actually be possible to hit with ranged spells (at least on consoles).
Spending all my magicka on a stupidly powerful spell and then watching the spell fly past my enemy isn't very satisfying. Sure, I could deal with it once in a while, but when more than 50% of my ranged spells miss because aiming is crap, something is wrong.

I want my levitation back,

I loved having a constant levitate effect then just hover over foes and rain down fire spells on warriors like Umbra in Morrowind.

Since NPCs can't pick locks, and probably won't in Skyrim, either...You are weird with Lock spells.

But with house decorating, nah.

I always put weapons that have outlived their usefulness in special places. You look pretty on that table, shitty mage's staff I got from the guild at level 5.

That and ditch the oblivion fast travel, bring back the Morrowind silt-striders and mage guild teleports. But keep the horses from oblivion.

Horse armor FTW

I spent about half an hour once making all the Zealots or whatever fall down into it. Well worth it. :D

I'm not really bothered looking up too many things on the net, to be honest. The Frostwyrm bow was about all I got from it and that's because I was bored and looking up Easter eggs.

It's not about wether or not my house gets burgled while im away saving the world or something,it's having a weird twitch. I put books on shelves, armor in chests, on tables, in closets, in shelves. I rearange diamonds in bowls.

I might have one of them fancy things you 'must' do. Whats it called again... ODT? PST? ODD?
The travel system blows. It really does. Mark & Recall ftw.

Well, I like absorb health even for non-vampire characters but I could see why they might do that logically.

I was thinking of maybe like a "Succubus Bite" spell that mutates your enemies into hideous monster slaves that die horrible deaths after mauling their former companions.

Or maybe even a sneaky kind of enslavement spell that causes people to hand over their things and open locked doors for you. Hell, maybe even place it on sleeping characters who will then sleepwalk around and do your bidding opening that damn treasure box that takes 100 lockpick to get.

And this is a little thing but if I bite someone I'd like them to become a vampire, which may or may not effect the story line if said character is involved. Hell, also how about a vampire guild with seperate quest lines and intersting revelations about characters seen elsewhere (kind of like finding out who was in the Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild etc).

Really even more then magic improvements I guess I want vampires fleshed out more. I'm weird like that.

I want all of those suggestions. Also, I'd quite like them to include the exploit from Morrowind that allowed you to permamently raise attributes to whatever number you wanted. with 27000 luck you can do anything you want. And with 5000 speed you can run right through the walls in the Balmora mages guild.

Also, give me my fucking spears back.
