Won't work for four reasons

1) Female pill only has to hit one target. Male pill has to hit EVERY one of n thousand targets.
Do you know anything about biology?

2) One night stand males have nothing to lose either way.
But not all of us are assholes. As the condom industry proves.

3) Guys, do you remember to brush your teeth EVERY night? Or get your hair cut every couple of months?
I see you've already discovered a more effective form of birth control. Carry on.

4) If there's even a .00001% chance of it rendering you infertile, 90% of the blokes won't touch it.
Doesn't seem to stop them from drinking [http://www.ivillage.com/can-drinking-alcohol-affect-your-fertility/6-n-145401].

Not saying the female pill is better in any respect, but at least they have a damn good reason to take it.
They do, but that's not always a deterrent [http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=850945]. I've heard the saying, "never trust the guy." I think it can go the other way too.

YAY!!!!! it's about damn time. i HATE taking birth control-the hormones mess with my sex drive AND my water retention, which in turn messes with my voice, which is my moneymaker. so i'm fully prepared to let my boyfriend do all the work for a change. this can't happen soon enough.

Also, shotgun on "international, multi-government conspiracy to introduce widespread infertility as population control in third world countries".
Why would the government want population control in third world countries? I mean, we get all our cheap labor from there. If we controlled the population, then our supply of sweatshop workers would dry up.

OT: I think this pill is a great idea. But then, I think almost any form of birth control is a great idea. The fewer unexpected babies that are born, the better.

I'd take it, but I could see it coming back and causing sterility.
I see what you did there.

As for me, this does sound too good to be true (as in "no STD's" and "100% protection" etc.).

First the test-results, then I'll decide.

Because it will eventually reach a boiling point that immediately precedes cultural revolution the world over?

Gah... I wish...

I'm all for male pills but I don't know why every girl isn't taking some type of contraceptive. A male will never spend 9 months growing another life in their body. If I was at risk of becoming pregnant I would make damn well sure that one mistake wouldn't get me knocked up.

The thing is, girls shouldn't trust that guys took their pill, we all have to be responsible for our own bodies.

I could see this as a good tool for couples, if each of them is on the pill, then double the protection. Now if only scientists could figure out a way to make the female pill a tri-monthly, or hell, once a month pill, that would be awesome. *sigh* sadly since they work in completely different ways that is unlikely.

A question that comes to mind is how long after you stop taking the pill for the sperm not to be sterile? How much of a slip up is forgetting to take it? Are you safe for a week? Less? Interesting though.

I will not be using it until it's been on the market for at least 20 years. There's no way I'm going to subject myself to something that in could possibly, even remotely, damage me and I guarantee there's side effects.

Not my first subject but let's see.

Spermatozoan in the male ejaculate: Says 20 million, more than I thought.
Female Ovums within the fallopian tubes: Usually 1 every 2 weeks.

So, given that one will activate the other, I'd say a target of one is easier to get than hitting all 20 million.
But not all of us are assholes. As the condom industry proves.
Only takes one asshole per woman. Or have I got my biology wrong again?

I see you've already discovered a more effective form of birth control. Carry on.
As I'm sure you're aware, I was talking about memory rather than personal hygeine.

Drink has this rather pleasant effect. I'm sure if the male pill tasted of curry, then it'd have a much better chance of being taken.

True, but in the end, the guy doesn't get a newborn life growing inside him.

I heard this in my CALM class this year. If it works and has no side effects, it could be very beneficial.

I personally wouldn't use it, and I disagree with the female version too. (Don't like the idea of messing with the bodies chemistry to avoid a child. Never have. Use "traditional" methods)

That said, your body is your own, do what you will - I have nothing against you for it.

or, you can just use condoms!
Seriously? My gf is on the pill and a few weeks ago she ran out and can't get any more til we go back to uni and so we had to use condoms and I forgot how much they suck! They're annoying, take all the romance out of it and most of the feeling as well. Haaaaate!

OT: If they can guarantee no side effects then I'd definitely take it, seems like a good deal to me
