Have you seen the shit this guy does? He smashed a copy of Spyro 3 saying it was shit because it didn't have Mario in it despite it ripping off of Mario 64. He regularly stalks and harrasses people on Twitter and Youtube telling them to kill themselves because their taste in games dosen't exactly match his (I.e. the very first Mario and Sonic games and nothing else). Calling him a man-child was being lenient.
Actually, this is the first I've heard of him, and he certainly doesn't sound like a very nice individual. However, whenever I see someone use the term "man-child" I instantly think less of them for using it. I could go on quite a diatribe of all the reasons I find that term particularly irksome, but I'll just say that the word is insulting to men and children alike by grouping them in with complete jerks, plays into the same double standard where being "youthful" and "childlike" is a positive and yet being "immature" is a negative, and is just a little bit sexist in that I hardly ever see the term "woman-child."

Surely his actions speak for themselves, and inevitably your description will show him in a negative light, insulting him in the title is completely superfluous and can only serve to lower you to his level.

To me, a man-child is a person that acts like how the person in question is acting. Throwing a tantrum like how he is because of something so trivial as a video game character getting a figurine.

I usually use "child at heart" for someone who likes child like things.

If this is true, I cannot fathom the kind of sad individual that has $40000 to spend on buying all the plastic figurines of kid's game characters he doesn't approve of. Must have gotten the money by saving rent and living with his mum I guess.

Guys this whole thing is hilarious. Go to his Youtube channel and read the comments. His level of insanity combined with the well deserved hatred he is receiving from people is funny as hell.

I really wish Nintendo would just run a re-print on some of these damn Amiibos.
I've kind of jumped on the Ambiibo train. I've never really collected anything since my youth. It's kind of fun to be honest.
It surprisingly is! Weird how that want for more just creeps up on you without warning, bought my first amiibo yesterday (twas Link, really wanted that spinner weapon in Hyrule Warriors haha) and as I opened the package and placed him on a nice spot I reserved for him, "man I should also grab Zelda maybe" just immediately came to thought. I know very well what I'm going to do once I pass by that store again :p

An awfully silly waste of money.
Actually, in terms of making a point I think this is a damn fine use of money. How is this good DLC? If it's only possible to obtain the DLC (no matter how small or large it can effect the game) in a finite amount of time, then why is that good for consumers? If they discontinue the toy then the DLC is either lost, or put up online for (probably) the same price, yet no figure to go with it. Is that really okay? Is it okay to make the DLC for a couple of pallet swaps/outfit changes over possibly a few games that has an actual finite obtainability? The best part about DLC is that you download it from the internet, it's not physical thus can't be broken/lost/stolen etc.

At least when whats-their-name made the black hair dye dlc for Fable 3 they only charged 2 dollars and you could get it at 2am in the morning without running into any issues of stock.

This whole Amiibo thing just really doesn't sit well with me, especially when I see the hypocritical defence from a few people (not you Barbas).

Well, I suppose I personally just don't see much to get excited about with Amiibos. It seems that this man's primary motivation wasn't shrewd business acumen but just constant, seething anger. I wonder how he's going to pay back the people whose cards he used...

I heard about this on the Super Best Friends Podcast.

And after seeing his youtube account, he is exactly what I envisioned him being.

So his whole plan was to spend thousands of dollars on a character he hates? In other wards, he's basically just giving his money to Nintendo, who is gonna probably take this as "Gee, Rosalina sure is popular" and just make more. I mean, they've recently announced that they're restocking Marth amiibos. Regardless of whether or not you're doing it for spite that character for whatever absurd reason, you're still supporting them and endorsing that character by giving them your money.

This is so pathetic and stupid it's hilarious.

Who's Rosalia? What's an Amiibo? OP, you gots to clarify these things!
Some character from some game nobody likes but is powerful/high tiered in brawl 2.0, and an obvious, lazy, anti-consumer cash-grab from a company so scared of trying new things all they can make are boring, tired rehashes of old games and old ideas and are suffering financially because of it.
Uh, excuse me. The term is "Not-Melee", thank you very much.

what a moron first unlike what was previously thought no amiibo is going to be outright retired they are just making less of the 'limited" ones like for every 100 mario only 50 villagers
(I asked the head of electronics at my local ToysRus and he confirmed it when I asked him if villager was really retired he was all like lol no we just get less of him)

so the guy may have bought a good chunk of the first wave of rosalina there will be future shipments of her figure

(yes if you haven't guessed I am still hunting for villager,)

This is actually pretty funny, especially because he seems to be the embodiment of every single stereotype about the rabid fan. His videos are gold.

Reality is stranger than fiction :D .

Rosalina is character who first appeared in Super Mario Galaxy and became popular enough to appear in the latest Smash Bros games. Amiibos are figurines that can be placed on the wii u gamepad to do a variety of things in game. Hope that answers your question unless someone has already answered it (in that case sorry for being redundant).
