Summary - Man from northern Pennsylvania couldn't afford to keep his newborn baby. His wife ended up having her baby in her car in the parking lot of a super market and the husband told her that he would "take care of it". He ended up taking the baby to his job and killing it by dropping a cinder block on its head.

disscusion any thoughts on this
He did what he should have done in a clinic 8 months before this happened. Man, it's good to live in a developed country...where people don't take advantage of that fact.

The guy couldn't think of anything other than "Hey, why not just bash its skull in with a cinder block." Couldn't he think of a less brutal way do "Take care of it."? Not that I'm condoning this.

I will say this: Regardless of where you stand on the abortion issue, you have to admit it's better than that. Wonder if the guy was drunk maybe? Bad ideas sometimes sound like good ones when you're drunk.

Adoption agencies exist for a reason;they take children of unfit families, last I checked.

...Can someone devise a horrible horrible manner in which to kill this man? I was thinking of maybe dangling him over a vat of bleach, force feeding him gallons upon gallons of water until he has to piss (For those who don't know, bleach has chlorine in it and urine has ammonia. Now when Ammonia mixes with bleach it produces mustard gas). But, i think that's still too merciful. So please, SOMEONE on here please think of a horrible horrible manner to kill him.

I'm sorry if i sound crazy/evil here but, given what this man has done (Murder a child, something i can NEVER condone under any circumstance, A NEWBORN child at that!) i think my rage is justified!

...I love you.

Like...I'm not even sure if I'm kidding.

Could've taken an abortion when they knew what was coming? This is a bit worse since it's activated and alive and shit,
adoption must surely be possible?

Huh. Well, -1 to overpopulation at least.
Can you...Can you please not regard people as a god damn statistic? A baby got fucking crushed by a fucking asshole with a cinder block. A baby that never got the chance to did all the things that we take for granted.

How can that ever be a good thing!!!?

I'm sure you wouldn't say that if somebody close to you died.

And yet nobody frowns upon abortion, even though this is exactly the same thing.
No, just no.
Why the no? At least explain your response if you say something.
A fetus has no cognitive functions and can not feel pain until after at least the 26th week, it's not the same thing as battering an infant to death with a brick.
You have no idea what that fetus might become one day. Want a cure for cancer? Well, the one who would've discovered it was aborted in the '80s, so too bad. How about the next Great American President? Whoops, that one bit the dust before it could "germinate", so no luck there.
Well as long as we're using wildly unrealistic and extreme examples, what if an 11 year old girl is raped by her father? Should she be forced to keep that child?
You criticize me of using wildly unrealistic examples....and then play the rape card? Roughly 1% of abortions occur in the wake of rape or incest; 6% occur because of health issues to either the mother or the child; abortion related to social issues, such as the child being an inconvenience or being altogether unwanted, fills in the gap at 93%.

A human being is created at the moment of conception. Two parties have added together the ingredients to be grown, shaped, and nurtured into what will one day become a proper and unique individual. To stop a fetus from becoming a newborn is no different from stopping a teenager from becoming an adult.

This is so horrible, it made me chuckle a bit. I couldn't help it. Seriously? A cinder block on the baby's head? A real man kills babies with his bare hands, not by using gravity.

You'd think the man's parents would have noticed that their child is a fucking psychopath. I mean really. Smashing a 5 minute old kid's head with a cinderblock? how many levels of insane do you have to be?

Hence why the access to free abortion - and/or a working social system - is so important.

It is little wonder that shit like this happens in a society that frowns on abortion - and increasingly take away the opportunity for it - while simultaneously caring little for the troubles of its poor members. Now a child has been killed, and the man will cost the tax payers a significant amount of money through the sentence of life imprisonment - or the even more expensive legal procedures associated with capital punishment - he'll undoubtedly and rightfully receive for his heinous crime.

Guess it's simply a predictable risk one will have to accept when embracing that kind of social contract though.
