Why does stuff like this always happen in America.

Thanks for helping with the stereotype that all americans are fat assholes.

Fuck people in my country, just fuck them
That's why I live in the middle of nowhere in Alaska. I get to pretend everyone south of me doesn't exist.
...there's got to be an "and then Palin" joke there, that's both tasteful and inoffensive... I just haven't figured out what it is yet...
Yeah, I like to remind people that she's actually from Idaho. Usually the jokes magically stop after that. :D

So you don't get, "so, she's so crazy she couldn't get elected in Idaho? You guys have my sympathy," or the like?

You know, this isn't convincing me that the 2nd amendment is a good thing...

Sure it's a very small minority but when people are getting shot over an argument about fries, well...
Your British, why do you care about the 2nd Amendment? You can't have a gun anyway.

No, I usually have them on the ropes with how the lower 48's gene pool is so polluted that it created someone like her. :D

Well, that's not news, I lived in the vicinity of Kentucky long enough to know what happens when the gene pool becomes a stagnant pond. :p

Philadelphia rules.

I love living here.

Glenn Beck just said he hates Philly, too.

I feel really bad about finding this funny...
My biggest problem is not that I find the scenario funny, but my first thought was "I shot a man in Philly just to get some fries."

I'm going to hell for that.

This is pretty funny in comparison to the recent incident with the dead teenage mugger. We have two incidents, one shows the benefit of having firearms, the other shows the problem. I Guess the question is which one we feel is more important: the opportunity to defend ourselves against criminals, or to stop crazy people form shooting each other...

I don't get the people in this thread saying that think this is an indictment of America's culture as a whole. It was fucking Philly, those people booed Santa, for Christ's sake, it's just that one city where literally every single person is both constantly angry and armed.
...are you from Philly? If you're not, I would keep your mouth shut about it. I would also double-check the definition of "literally." I am from Philly, and I can assure you that more often than not, I'm not angry, and I'm never armed. Do you know when we booed Santa? It was in the 1980s, and it wasn't because it was Santa. It was because we were pissed that our team was doing terribly and because the Santa in question was drunk. Ho ho ho.
Sounds like someone's pissed off about that early playoff exit.
Not really. The way we played, we deserved to lose.

Yeah, but don't ridiculous amounts of people get shot in Philadelphia anyway? It's a just a ridiculous, greasy drop in an already vast ocean.

And next week on appropriate conflict resolution 101....

*facepalm*

Faith in humanity waning.

I mean seriously, how have we managed to survive as a species for so long with stuff like this?
