You know, this isn't convincing me that the 2nd amendment is a good thing...

Sure it's a very small minority but when people are getting shot over an argument about fries, well...

I don't get the people in this thread saying that think this is an indictment of America's culture as a whole. It was fucking Philly, those people booed Santa, for Christ's sake, it's just that one city where literally every single person is both constantly angry and armed.
they booed Santa because the Philadelphia Eagles were doing absolutely terrible, and they thought he was drunk
Might have had something to do with everyone in the stadium being drunk and ill-tempered, just like everyone outside of the stadium.

...are you from Philly? If you're not, I would keep your mouth shut about it. I would also double-check the definition of "literally." I am from Philly, and I can assure you that more often than not, I'm not angry, and I'm never armed. Do you know when we booed Santa? It was in the 1980s, and it wasn't because it was Santa. It was because we were pissed that our team was doing terribly and because the Santa in question was drunk. Ho ho ho.
Sounds like someone's pissed off about that early playoff exit.

I don't know why you think people from Philly are angry. It's completely unfounded.

Ba-zinga.

Really though its a well known fact that outside of America (united states of) there exists no crime,no poverty and no disease.

There are no mental health issues, no cases of drug addiction and definetly no cases of plain old "IM FUCKING TIRED OF YOU ALL WHY WONT YOU JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY"-itis.

No serial killers, no rapists, naught but happy fairies who do our every whim.

I become so tired of this now, Im tempted to go on a killing spree with my collection of melee weapons just to piss certain parts of this forum off by introducing their arguments to reality* .

*No not really, my mam always said that if you have to murder a couple dozen people to prove a point then you have already lost the argument.

Unless those people are gypsies, she really doesnt like them.

Or the Irish.

Or the Welsh.

actually now that i think about it....

From my experience with the surprisingly large number of Philladelphians I encounter in day-to-day life, I find it hard to believe that anyone could think that there's not a general attitude unless you live in it and just don't notice it. It's not a Northerner thing or a contempt for the area so much as a consistent experience with the people themselves, including but not limited to the delightful sports fans.

EDIT: And by "sports fans," I'm not talking about Eagles fans in a specific point in time, I'm talking about Eagle, Philly, and 76'er fans at least as long as I've been alive.

Why does stuff like this always happen in America.

Thanks for helping with the stereotype that all americans are fat assholes.

Fuck people in my country, just fuck them
That's why I live in the middle of nowhere in Alaska. I get to pretend everyone south of me doesn't exist.
...there's got to be an "and then Palin" joke there, that's both tasteful and inoffensive... I just haven't figured out what it is yet...

Wow, I love french fries personally, but I wouldn't shoot someone over them. The stupidity here is just mind-boggling.

Alright. This is just too stupid to believe. Great way of making America seem like a great country. I doubt we'll be seeing anything that will make us seem great untill something changes (and that's not abolishing the 2nd amendment, THAT WON'T DO ANYTHING EXCEPT GET MORE PEOPLE SHOT.)

Since the article doesn't mention anything about any background in this case (presumably they don't know), this incident has no context. It looks like someone just shot another over a petty argument, but we don't know what led up to this point, I somehow doubt they were friends and suddenly just turned on one another over french fries.

*facepalm*
Why didn't I figure this out? This is so obvious now that you point it out. Must've been some background of hate towards each other. Thanks for pointing this out, I now have a slightly better mood knowing that it's unlikely some guy got murdered over french fries.

That's just... there are no words for how stupid this is. Of all the things to shoot someone over, this was because of an argument about french fries!?
Was it poutine? That would explain a lot.
French Fries + Gravy = WIN!!!

inb4 it was the gun's fault.
I don't see how one could blame the gun, the police report didn't say anything about the gun being any part of the argument, besides, guns don't even like french fries!

I feel really bad about finding this funny...

But seriously? Was it about who got the fries? Whether they're better soft or crispy? (The answer is crispy of course). Completely unbelievable.
CLEARLY it's about the soft fries. Delicious, soggy, soft, mushy... unedible... soft fries. Not crisp, fresh, crunchy, delicious crispy fries.

This article just killed the last little tiny fragment of hope I still had for humanity. Time to go paint a sandwich board and stand on the street corner announcing the end of the world.

DONT TOUCH MAH FRIES!!!! *bang bang*

imagine a bystander watching them...
I assume that's how we know about the fries. And I would pay a fairly ridiculous amount of money to see the look on their face when they saw it happen.
