They why does America only get their retards to become soldiers? The standard for the american forces is pretty low in comparison to the standards of lets say european forces.

Marines are cannon fodder. Literally. That is their entire purpose. First in, last out. They take the bullets so that the people worth something don't have to.

That's not to say that all Marines are dumb muscle and some do actively choose to be there, but most are put into the US Marines because they have more brawn than brains.

On one hand, it's hard for us to judge, considering how different our life here, and what they are living through is.
On the other, being soldiers is about having a certain amount of discipline and professionalism,typical of Occidental armies. Doing this, hell, even just doing this shows a rather important problem in the midst of the armed forces. We should really ask ourselves if hiring future frat boys, paying for their education through college tuition, after they do some time, is really wise. Sure it keeps the number high, but yeah....

Let's be honest here, I respect what some soldiers do, and I mean no disrespect to those who have pride in their work and uphold the integrity of their unit and their country while on operations.

I think I'll just agree with Daystar here. While I don't honestly care what they do to the bodies, letting themselves be recorded is just stupid.

I did 4 years in the Marines and you know what I found out in that span of time?

Marines are mostly scum. A good number of them are the exact opposite of the sort of people the GP (General Population) think would join up. Of course there are a few decent people here and there as well (as with any facet of society, really), but all things considered, the majority of people I met during my time in the corps were not the greatest.

I guess that's just my long-winded way of saying that I'm not surprised by this video. I've seen stuff just as bad in person, honestly.

My only question is what was your MOS.

I'll admit, I WOULD be tempted to do something similar with the corpses of my enemies. Placing them in humorous positions, puppet shows, mannequins etc. But I wouldn't actually do it if I was in the military (let alone to be filmed doing it) because surprisingly I have more sense than that. Leave the messing of corpses for leisure time, not for work.

Anyway, I'm not going to watch the video, but I don't think that this video nearly compares to the damage we've done first-hand, with the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians on our hands. Iraq now has over 5 million orphans, which is half of the children there. It's disgusting, and it's our fault for being there for 10 years. Afghanistan isn't much better.

You do know that the insurgents have killed 1000x more civilians than the coalition troops have right? Also that whether or not being there the people would still be dying and leaving millions of orphans? You do know that Muslims are pretty much at a civil war in the Middle East because of the Sunni Shiite sects? Hell there was a section in Afghanistan where the fighting just STOPPED because all of the Sunnis I think it was were killed.

Apparently according to Wiki-Leaks one of the things that it released there were WMDs found in Iraq the major news networks never picked it up and/or the White House never released the data officially. That's just the explanation for the "tough" part of the stereotype. The best reason I can think of for the "dumb" part is the tendency for people to associate an inverse relation between strength and intelligence.
