If Arkham Asylum had been a crap game it could have been shouldered on his voice alone. Fortunately it both had his voice and was a fantastic game.

You will be missed as my perhaps favorite villain ever Mr. Hamill. Thanks for all the laughs :|

Unfortunetly I grew up with the Batman Animated series with Swedish dub, so I don't get any nostalgia trips from the voice acting in the games. I do think that Mark Hamill was an excellent Joker though.

That sucks. I just hope that they don't even think about hiring the dude who did the voice of Joker in Batman vs Dracula... He sounded like a big black dude instead of a skinny, crazy white dude.

That was Kevin Michael Richardson, the Joker from the series The Batman, which was honestly kind of underrated. And the Joker from that series may not have been as good a Hamill's (Ledger being the only one generally agreed to even be close), he was still ok.

That series was my first experience of Batman and I love the portrayal of the Joker from that; he's more over-the-top than Hammill's Joker but then again it's a more over-the-top cartoon so it fits.
I don't get the hate for TB, though I guess I was born after B:TAS and it was always going to be difficult for the two to compete.

OT: Always sad to see an era end; I'm guessing they'll have to make some big changes (as in beyond just hiring new guys) if they're going to continue; what with Kevin Conroy retiring Batman as well.

The Joker doesn't show up in Batman: Year One. There's a passing mention of him at the end but he never makes an appearance. That's both the comic and the animated movie they just released.

Mark Hamill IS the voice of the Joker. No one will ever replace him, in my mind. Just his laugh was perfect and you were never really sure if the Joker was crazy or crazy like a fox the way Hamill portrayed him.

Well at least we have John DiMaggio as a replacement. Seriously, he was awesome as The Joker in Under The Red Hood.

Pretty much this. Mark Hamill will always be the voice of the Joker to me, but John DiMaggio did a great job in that movie. A very close personal second choice.

Oh geez, I'm sorry, I meant Young Justice. Not only does the Joker look like a 23 year old hipstemo but he is also voiced by Brent Spiner.

I find it very sad that he is retiring, but to be fair to the guy he's been doing The Joker for almost two decades. That's a very long time. He also gave fair warning that he was going to retire from the role, so we can't really say this is a shock >_<

However, I give a huge salute to Hamill. He was my favourite Joker, hands down. His voice acting abilities are some of the best in the business and he easily outshone almost everyone in the Batman games as well as the animated series. I think he brought a life and character to The Joker that no one else could. Every time someone tells me that Heath Ledger was their favourite Joker I automatically ask "Have you heard Mark Hamill's version?". (To be clear, I am not dismissing Ledger's Joker.)

Hamill and his irreplaceable Joker will be missed <3 (lol, I make it sound like he's dead.)
