That was one badass teaser though. Did its job very well. Not that it needed to get people any more excited about this game. Teh Mass Effects 2 iz coming. That was horrible fake leet, wasn't it? I barely speak any of the language.

YES!! I've been waiting for this for a long time!
I don't think Shephard's dead, but I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls a Revan on us. My theory is that Shephard isn't dead, but that he's off by himself trying to stop the Reapers and nobody knows where he is. I'd bet that that Geth at the end kinda proves that he isn't dead yet.

Speculation alert!
I doubt Shepherd's dead for the reason I gave above, plus as people have mentioned, it would completely fuck with the story.
But, this could be a clue for what is to come. Maybe Shepherd is infected by the Geth. New Robot powers anyone?

I really can't understand what people found so interesting in Mass Effect you fly around space landing on rocks with slightly different colours shooting at things, there was little to no variation, the planets were all just barren landscapes with the occasional creature that seemed so out of placed in the middle of no where.
IF and only IF they scrap the entire list of planets put them all together and make 1 huge city that actually feels like an interstellar galactic space port but is not a part of the main quest (The Citadel does not count). I would consider buying Mass Effect 2.
Mass Effect was bland and the saving aspect was allot of nice little details, it looked great and the story was interesting enough to keep me going. But a Mass Effect 2 should take all this, make massive open world cities, environments and landscapes for me to roam in freely. It's not that hard to make even seeing as you can't walk from 1 planet to the next and the map is pretty confined they could pull of loading a map of massive proportions and filling it with interesting designs, characters and sightseeing stuff.
Than Mass Effect would feel like a intergalactic space game instead of an intergalactic archaeology simulation.
The trailer didn't get me excited and i am seeing if Bioware can pull this of. O and here is a rethread for the people that failed to get this pretty obvious trailer.
You died, or maybe you didn't and were taken captive but we don't know. The Geth have now launched a massive assault on the human sector and struck hard at the heart of the Alliance after the attacks of the Reapers left their fleets in disarray, it seems the Alliance have taken a heavy toll and Earth might be in danger AGAIN (you'd think this little blue planet would be toast by now with the billions of possibilities we came up for to destroy it).
Now here is my prediction of how the game is going to open.
1: A fresh new start with a new character. Freshly squirted out from the Alliance military academy you get embroiled in a search for Shepard most likely you will locate his last position and than find the Geth doing something horrible.
2: You are still alive, hurrayy!! Only problem is your toiling away in the Geth mines and need to find a way to escape. You escape and try to link up with your crew again to blast your way out Firefly style and stop the Geth once more.
Probably the story will be ripped of directly from Halo. You killed their prophet in the last game so now the Geth have launched a religious war against all humans... yawn. Halo bored me when it hit the third number and having a third person Halo themed RPG is not something I am waiting for.
However something original could be done 2 and the Geth could have been taken over by those green pirate thingy's the Batarians or some other beings outside of Human teritories. Their king or whatever got hold of a special device that can control all of them and is now determined to bring down the Humans for being all courageous, brown haired, stunningly handsome and rugged.

There is the possibility of a totally new character just jumping in as the main Hero/Heroin but I don't buy that. It wouldn't make much sense to have a totally new character, and playing as a ready made character would take away character customization, which would certainly get on a lot of peoples tits.
Guess I should go maybe try playing Mass Effect again, see if maybe this time I'll enjoy it. Teaser/Trailer does look cool though.
I truely hope that the Comander Shepard K.I.A. is a joke, or they have some great way he/she goes out!
My guess is that there all in hiding or programmed a bot to redirect that info to the reapers for a sneak attack.. IF im right i demand they pay me
