How can you get any more streamlined than ME2?
Their going to take out that annoying "Plot" thing that got in the way of ME2's fantastic gameplay.

*Shudder*

How in the world are they going to give it more mass a appeal than ME2 it seems impossible.
"Surprisingly well-endowed High School girls in short skirts."

"That sounds surprisingly dull."

"...iiiin spaaaaace!!"

"Brilliant, why haven't I promoted you earlier?!"

"Thank you, sir. May I suggest we stuff them in Mass Effect?"

EA better not fuck this up...... Also I thought the Mass Effect series was already a financial success not just critical.

Well I can't be too harsh I mean look how awesome Dragon Age 2 was when they had it "Appeal to a wider audience" . . . .oh wait it was total garbage. In fact I've had more fun wiping shit off of my shoe than I did playing that abortion of a game.

I was previously of the belief that Bioware had just enough autonomy after selling their soul to EA that Mass Effect 3 would be their last (yep last) chance at making what qualifies as a really good game. Sadly, judging by all the talk of broadening the audience it's likely going to be Dragon Age 2 all over again. Hooray for catering to the lowest common denominator !!!

I can't believe I'm about to say this but EA needs to take a note out of Activision's book and treat Bioware the same way Activision treats Blizzard. Even Activision has enough sense that they know not to go fucking around with Blizzard less they risk killing the golden goose. And that's what EA is doing, they are killing their golden goose. Bioware was awesome without EA. However, since joining the EA machine they have done nothing but decline and I believe that the day they are just another developer isn't far off.

Probably is the reason for the delay. It reeks of the bean-counters getting in the way of the creatives. Killing the golden goose. Here's hoping they don't fuck everything up.
Its EA, what else can they do.

ME3 is probably going to be a great story despite this news.

For those who have lost faith in the product I suggest waiting a month or two after the games release. Give time for any biased reviews by gaming websites to become known for what they are...give time for the haters and fanboys to give out all their 1's and 10's and then determine if the game is worth your money.

The shooting was the worst part of the franchise... Please dont try to make it a shooter with RPG elements instead of an RPG with some shooting ones

Aw gawd didn't they say the exact same thing for da2?

Im cool with delays if it means they will really go to town on me3, but really aint cool with trying to streamline or mess with a working formula.

Does that even make sense, really? Mass Effect is a tightly connected trilogy. I don't think 3's going to appeal to a lot of people who haven't played 1&2, one way or the other. I'm no marketing expert, of course, but as far as I've seen, neither are the people at EA [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/2794-An-Open-Letter-to-EA-Marketing].

Well, at least they're delaying it, not putting it out too soon, as they did with Dragon Age 2. Although last minute changes are not known to produce the best effects [http://www.cracked.com/article_16258_5-awesome-movies-ruined-by-last-minute-changes.html].

Hmm...not too happy about this, it seems to be that the game is already very accessible,do they think that the sci-fi aspect of the game is putting people off? Hell, I hope not. They better not do something mental like toning down eveything to do with the sci fi nature and having it as just some boring diet rpg shooter thing that uses space as a very vague backdrop.

Worst case scenario for sure, I just hope they don't go crazy, for as I said, it already seems pretty damn appealing to any kind of gamer.
