Yeah, that was a great and sad moment. I had no idea Krogans could write such poetry.JesterRaiin said:...Krogan deathbed poetry. I almost cried. :|
I did say almost, but only 40 hours?DustyDrB said:I didn't like the ending, but it hardly negates 40 hours of pure amazingness.The_Lost_King said:I'm sorry but it is, almost ruined mass effect for mehazabaza1 said:Right, thanks. I'll finish off everything I need to, and just hope that the ending isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be!DustyDrB said:It does, so you might want to hold off.hazabaza1 said:I'm loving how much squad interaction there is not only on the Normandy but also in the missions.
Also, slight spoilery question for the story
Anybody know if attacking TIM's base starts the end-game/point of no return missions? I've got the choice to but I want to make sure I'm fully sorted before I do.
That reminds me of another thing I love: It took me just as long to beat this as it did the first two games, but there was almost no fluff (Mako, Scanning, etc).
Only? That's par for the course in the series. A thorough playthrough of the first two games takes me about the same amount of time, and they have the Mako stuff and planet scanning to pad the time. Mass Effect 3 is definitely the meatiest of the three.The_Lost_King said:I did say almost, but only 40 hours?DustyDrB said:I didn't like the ending, but it hardly negates 40 hours of pure amazingness.The_Lost_King said:I'm sorry but it is, almost ruined mass effect for mehazabaza1 said:Right, thanks. That's why I said only mass effect 3 would have added more time because it is brilliant until the ending. Plus you had to have made other characters.DustyDrB said:Only? Steve was a good character though. He and Traynor both were. Did the shuttle get damaged that many times? I only remember the one time at the end.Tuesday Night Fever said:Honestly, I loved a whole lot of stuff that they did with this game. All the great crew interactions, all the nods to minor characters/quests from the previous games, all the humor derived from fan in-jokes, the stirring music, the emotional roller-coaster ride they put you on during several points in the game... in all the games I've played over the years, I don't think I've ever found one that made me feel quite so engaged in what was going on.
Did I dislike the endings? Sure. Just like most of the players, apparently. But I'm not going to let the last 10 minutes of the game ruin the incredible experience I'd been having over the many hours before that.
My only real gripe with the game was how much they build up Steve Cortez as this amazing pilot... and yet he never actually does anything particularly amazing. Most of the time he just ends up getting my shuttles damaged.
I definitely liked both of them just fine as characters. I actually really liked the quests for Cortez.DustyDrB said:Steve was a good character though. He and Traynor both were. Did the shuttle get damaged that many times? I only remember the one time at the end.
Yeah, I wish I had brought Javik then. I had Liara and Garrus. Garrus was delightfully flippant about how obvious it was the creators were actually Protheans, but his model failed to load in every scene once you get to the relics. So his voice came from nowhere...and it looked silly.boag said:Javik and Liara at Thessia, so much awesome, every little thing.
Javik as a whole brings so many awesome little moments to the game, for being a brand new character he is incredibly charismatic, when wrex is talking shit with Salarians on Surkesh, Javik adds on the fire with "they were a delicacy".
javik is a total dick, but he gets to be a dick because he is a rage fueled Ancient "Asari finally learned how to write?", priceless.
Im going to replay it just to see how many of the characters shit all over Liara, because she goes into panic mode trying to deny the Protheans hand held the Asari into advanced civilization.DustyDrB said:Yeah, I wish I had brought Javik then.
