****SPOILER ALERT****

So, at the end of Mass Effect one (Which was an amazing game) You could choose to save or let the council die and that was pretty much the "Major choice" in the game BUT in Mass Effect 2 that choice really did not affect the game much at all. Little things changed but for the most part it didn't mean anything. My question is at the end of Mass Effect 2 did you save the Collectors ship or blow it up? How did that change the end of the game? And do you think it will effect ME3 more than ME1 did for the second?

I chose to destroy the ship and told the Illusive man where he could stick it, just incase you were wondering.

I did the same, and I seriously hope it actually makes a difference otherwise what's the point in the whole bloody thing?

Doesn't matter either way. Cerberus is damn near destroyed in Retribution.

I don't know. It does better with the whole what you choose makes a difference more than most games but I was slightly let down by that. Though I did think ME2 was one of the best games ever. Top ten easily.

For ME2 they couldn't really have the previous game affect it much because everyone had to end up at pretty much the same place. For the last game they should have more freedom to create diverging paths.

It could either be a really big thing and set the stage for ME3 depending on whether or not you blew all the Collectors' shit up, or it could be an email from The Illusive Man read thus:

Ty for the cool shit shep! PEACE BROSEF

Well considering I actually read the giant neon message of "Advances in technology that aren't your own fucks you over in the end" I didn't choose to keep the ship. Plus I don't know why the Illusive Man annoyed me as much as he did, but he did so I wanted to stick it to him whenever I could.

My guess is that it will effect where you start out in ME3, I.E. with Cerberus or on your own. But it will probably effect things in roughly the same way that the ending of ME1 did.

Also you should probably put "spoiler" somewhere in here man, just saying.

I chose to keep it. Since its a piece of Reaper technology it could be very, very valuable to use against the Reapers. Plus destroying it "to not sacrifice who I am" is stupid. Your at war, with viscous space robots hellbent on wiping out all life. You need everything you can get to fight these things.

I just wish it offered more choices instead of "give it to Cerberous" or "destroy it". Perhaps "keeping it to prove to the council the Reapers are real" would have been a good option.

Anyway, I have saves with it both destroyed and kept, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

I think it will have major consequences especially if you've read the 3rd book (I won't spoil it if anyones planning to read it but...) Basically giving the illusive man less reaper/collector tech is for the best because its all too easy to be used against all the organic races by reaper control.
Plus keeping the council alive or not will probably affect what resources you're given to fight that reaper horde you see at the end of ME2.

I always killed the council because that is what i really would have done, i also chose to blow the fuck out of the ship because in real life i would have done that too, and as said before me the big hint saying take your own path and using others tech will = shit for you really registered with me.

The main thing is that giving it to Cerberus is like giving a couple of nuclear bombs to the nazis during WW2. Because that's what Cerberus are, space nazis.
OT: I did what I would do, apparently I'm paragon.

Ehhhh Mass Effect 3 is going to be as bland and boring as the other 2. (I rented and beat the first to my frustration I found myself wondering why so many people thought it was good. And played the 2 one for a few hours and then gave it back to my friend)

I was an Ultra Renegade during the game, shooting random people who got in my path and stealing all their kickass technology to upgrade my guns and cybernetics. With my Shepard, when given the chance to loot a billions-of-years-old space station probably made her eyes light up like Harbinger assumed direct control.

What was your final cut scene like when you kept it?

Sorry about the spoiler thing btw. I put one up.

Also, with the final mission, did anyone have Shepard die? I am guessing you can't import that saved stuff to ME3? And if you get all or most of your squad killed what does that mean for your import? Than and Jack died in mine but I am replaying ME1 now so I can replay ME2 with all my own choices.

Well it has kind of been set up that Shepard will need to get the help of all the races to help fight the Reapers in the 3rd one. The question is, is Humanity alone in the fight or will other races help him. Based on whether you let the council die(ie. putting humanity first and being selfish) and keeping the Reaper ship(ie. again only thinking of ways to benefit humanity and not the entire galaxy) should affect how the entire galaxy affects Sheapard and humanity when the Reapers come.

Thats how I see the ME3 comes out anyway. I reckon the reaper threat will becomes more 'real' in the next one, hunting down Shepard and letting the entire galaxy know the reapers are coming, leaving no room for the 'war' to no be real which is what the current council is claiming.

Either way it think it will come into play, I have trust in Bioware, its gonna come full circle, they can't fuck it up.

I know, which is I wanted to not give it to Cerberus, and not destroy it. There are most good reasons for destroying it, but Shepard gives a completely stupid one. "I won't compromise who I am".

Really?

It makes a damn big difference to the power balance within the citadel, and the mindset of most species on there. It's not big with regards to the story, but lorewise it's huuge. I'd wager we'll see it come up again in Mass Effect 3, if they go with what everyone thinks is gonna happen (Rally an army to fight the reapers).

Since from the look of things, Renegade Sherpard is going to have made too many enemies to rally a decent sized force, it stands to reason that the Collector Base will be their Deus Ex Machina to bring down the Reapers somehow. That ofc means a Renegade Shepard who destroyed the base would be screwed, but they do like to give you choices that aren't always the right ones...

Does anyone see ME3 being the end of that franchise? Any hopes for a spin off in the same universe with new characters or an MMO type thing?
