Dusk Salarian:

The Salarian paused for a moment before stating who he was in his Comm, and nodding.

"Fine, follow me," he said as he ushered Raven to follow. "The rest of you stay here though, you leave without our say so, and you get put down."

With that, the Salarian lead Raven to the alley with Korik, Brooks and Paladin.

Raven followed the Salarian into the alley and took in the scene around him. Not nearly as bad but I don't like them threatening on of my men. Turning towards the obvious leader he spoke, "As I recall we had a non-aggression treaty. Care to explain why your pointing guns at people who wandered into your territory by accident?"

"You know Raven, I'm inclined to take your side on this one. Although, I suspect that they're just nervous, people get stupid when they're nervous. I mean, in all fairness we did stumble on to their territory, and we are all quite well armed."

Jetta stayed under cover as she'd been told, listening intently to the number of voices she heard as she tried carefully to get in a better position for a surprise attack. The Salarian voice from just after the flash sounded the most threatening, Jeran it sounded like his name was, if that was the same one the Turian had told to stop. Interesting that the Turian was the voice of reason, but then they were usually the cool in combat types. She stretched her hand and made sure Stasis was ready. If things got hairy, she'd have to move fast and get that Salarian out of the fight before he could get trigger-happy.

"This is Ocara, I got your six Raven. Target acquired, awaiting instructions" muttered Ocara into his comm-unit softly. He was located a fair distance down the tunnel from where Raven was, at least 600 meters, cloaked, calm and aiming directly at the lead Turian, his scope perfectly adjusted and settled on the Turian's center mass . While he knew for certain that nothing would go afoul, he didn't want to risk Raven being out in the cold with nobody at his back, he owed it to him.

Ocara was perfectly still. for as there was a transformation in the Turian from 'casual mode' to mission mode, the transition could go further, to the ice cold and deadly 'sniper mode', where he could sense everything and nothing at the same time, where it was simply him and his weapon, a perfect precision killing instrument, poised and ready. Ocara was so detached at this moment that he had no clue as to Sal's location, but he as sure she was behind him or with the others, though he had no real way of knowing and while he wished with every fiber of his being that she was safe, as he worried for all his close comrades, the thought was as distant and murky as a childhood memory now, his mind completely and utterly focused on the task at hand.

The Turian military, years of Merc work and most of all, Esten had taught him well...

Paladin turned to the Turian that seemed to be in charge "Alright, I think this has gone on long enough! Come on man, this has obviously been a misunderstanding, we we just hunting Vorcha, not Dusk. and every minute we let this stand off go on, the more likely it is that someone it going to do something stupid."

Ethan put his arms down at his sides, relaxing a little bit, trying to get the others to relax too.

"We aren't trying to kill you, and nobody wants a fight, why don't you put your guns away and we'll head over to the Elixer and have a few drinks, on me, what do you say?"

Korik:

Korik turned and glared at Paladin and slowly let his fingers roll across his pistol before turning back to Raven.

"Do you let your recruits speak out like that?" he asked, getting more annoyed by every single one of Paladin's responses. "I expected a little bit more to come from Aegis."

"Now, as far as the pact was concerned, a clause of it that you are so keenly overlooking is the one that states that all members from their respected sides stay out of one anothers territory," he said condescendingly. "Now, tell me Raven, do you really see a response like this as being out of place when considering the circumstances? After all, say one of our squads wandered into your territory, armed, and shooting at those in it, would you believe that not responding to it would be the answer?"

Raven shook his head as Paladin continued to make things worse for them. If he keeps running his fucking mouth this is just going to get worse. Turning on his heel, he calmly walked up to his squad member and decked him in the face, his calm visage never leaving his face. Turning back to Korik he said, "Do you mind having one of your men escort this trash to my ship so that we may continue our talk in peace? You have my word that nothing will happen to him."

Paladin got up, rather take a fist to the face than a bullet. He grabbed Raven on the shoulder as if to balance himself. he mumbled into Raven's ear when he got close, in a soft enough tone that the Dusk mercs wouldn't hear. "The others are hiding, the attack word is epitome, get everyone out safe". And walked over to the Salarian by Brooks, "alright, let's go"

Korik:

Korik laughed as he watched Raven punch Paladin. He didn't expect him to show such ferocity.

"Just like my old drill sergeant back on Invictus," Korik said with a chuckle. "Joram, escort the human back to the Aegis ship."

He turned back to the Salarian still holding Brooks.

"Take that one back as well Jeran."

With that, a Turian came down the alley and gave Paladin a light shove to push him in the direction of the Razor. Jeran then released Brooks, as he took the shotgun from the other Salarian, and kept it aimed at their backs.

"Now, Raven," Korik said as his voice started to regain his professionalism. "What we have had here is an infringement upon the terms our two sides agreed upon. Know though that Dusk does not want to have open confrontation on its borders. If either of us were to fight for control of the area, all we would have is someone else swoop in to finish the two of us off."

"I suggest though, we make nothing more of this incident. We'll let you and the rest of your team leave, as long as you follow a flight path we make for you out of our territory. We simply want our areas secured, and having infringements such as this upon them, makes us doubt the trust we have placed with you. Now, I suggest you tell Verahl of this incident, advise him to keep further away from what is ours, and get these recruits in better shape. Their disobedience does not make you blameless.?

With that he indicated the soldiers that surrounded them to lower their weapons as he said his final words to Raven.

?If you want to return, at least give a little notification.?

He then said to the others around him.

?Make sure that Raven and his two other comrades get back to their ship. After that, start a sweep of the area.?

He stepped back as the rest of his company followed his orders. He then opened his Omni-Tool and transferred the details of the set flight to Raven.

Raven nodded head, satisfied with the arrangement that he had reached. Entering the cargo bay, he moved into the cockpit of the ship and passed the details of the flight plan to Kry signaling for him to take off. Verahl would be happy with the success of the mission however Paladin was another problem entirely. His stupidity had nearly caused a turf war. Verahl would most definitely not be pleased with that nugget of information. Taking a seat in the cockpit, he settled in for the ride back.

Paladin sat in the Razor, thinking over the mision and how it had gone from a clean-up to FUBAR almost immediately. And his mind turned to his own mistakes and how he could have prevented it. He wasn't exactly beating himself up, but a man can't learn without confronting his own mistakes.

I should have checked the map before we moved out, trying to talk that Dusk merc out of fighting was too much of a hail Mary, I should have brought someone along who knew the territory, we should have stayed closer to the main group, not gone off in search of kills, maybe there was another way out of the alley that wouldn't have run us into Dusk...

Edited the posting, Ted told me that Jetta and Terina got out, so I altered it to fit the information, basically I'm not asking where they are any more

Ocara sat in his seat aboard the Razor, trying to recover his breath after the brisk run down to the ship from his sniper position. Ocara was over all pleased with how the mission had proceeded, no casualties, no major complications, no hideous gang-wars triggered, yeah, things had gone well. Sure, he would have to pay a visit to Miles when they got back so he could get his various injuries sorted out, including a minor cut along his upper neck, that while trivial, would leave a thin, but noticeable scar, adding to his growing collection.

However, despite his intense hatred of every moment spent in that mans presence and the thought that he was getting less pretty the more time he spent with Aegis, it was worth it, along as all of his compatriots were alive and the cash kept rolling in.

"So, who's up for some serious drinking when we get back?" inquired Ocara, his smile back in place, beaming through the vorcha bright orange blood that was splattered across his face.

Paladin turned to his newly chipper companion. "I'll probably have to talk to Verahl, but I'll grab a drink with you after if I end up going to given my report."

Verahl:

"Lux, get them out of my office," Verahl said sharply as he turned his back to the four recruits and looked out over the club bellow.

Over the past 20 minutes Verahl had chewed them out and made sure they each knew how dire their mistakes were. He wouldn't tolerate mistakes such as these. Hardly any of them spoke or even attempted to interrupt them. When Verahl got angry, it felt as though he was one of the most threatening forces on Omega. His tone would change from stern professionalism to one of maliciousness and distain. He was good at breaking people, it was what he had done for years, and doing the same to the recruits just felt natural to him.

Have to break them down before they can be built back up.

He waited until the four had left the office before turning back around. His expression had changed back to one of calm. He was frustrated now, and annoyed by the mistake they had made, but he didn't truly feel as angry as he had made it seem. He was simply aggravated by their actions, and was irritated that he would need to spend the next few days getting back on terms with Dusk.

Could have been worse though.

He thought to himself as he sat back down at his office chair. He sighed as he grabbed a bottle of one of his favourite Batarian ales he kept on the corner of his desk and started to fill three of the glasses. When he was done, he beckoned for Raven and Lux to take their seats in front of his desk as he placed their drinks across from him.

Lux was the first to take his seat. He was careful when sitting down in it. While the chair was nice and big for most, for a Krogan it still seemed small and delicate. He let out a loud, obnoxious sigh as he sat down at his place and looked Verahl right in the face.

"Fucking rookies," he finally said as he picked up the glass and downed it.

Verahl gave a small chuckle as he picked up his glass. He tipped the contents back from side to side before taking a small sip of it.

"You're right," he murmured quietly, as he thought once more on how this would affect them.

Terina sat in the bar, her normal location off-duty. That could have gone better. Terina hated not being quick enough to help out, moving too slowly to allow for any actions before others moved first.

Paladin walked back to the bar, he hadn't been chewed out like that since his time in the alliance, he'd have given Verahl his side, but knew that wasn't the time, at least everyone had gotten out safe, he had enough deaths on his conscience.

He walked down to the bar, saw Terina, and sat down next to her. "If you're about to blame yourself, don't, I was in charge, the fault is mine."

"Who's to blame? And what for guys?" asked Ocara, coming up behind his two newest comrades, a smile on his face, along with a few bandages and plasters. During their twenty minute chewing out, Ocara had paid his trip to Miles and it had been as enjoyable as he expected it to be, the two saying nothing to each other apart from the occasional jibe, mostly ones directed from him to the Dr. Despite being an idiot of the highest caliber, Miles new when to keep quiet and with the history between the two, Ocara wouldn't be surprised if the two never spoke a proper sentence to each other for the rest of their lives, though he'd be pretty pleased about it.

"I know Ver gave you a chewing out, thats what he does, but think of it this way, nobodies dead right? No widows, no mourning, no grief, just a little altercation with some over-zealous border guarding mercs" he continued as he reached over the bar and picked up a couple Turian beers, secreting one in his pocket whilst opening the other.

"Mission accomplished" said Ocara, as he thrusted his drink into the center of the three mercs, hoping atleast one would be courteous enough to say 'cheers'.

Sal joined Ocara, Terina, and Paladin at the bar, her suit showed several new patches where her suit needed repairs. "You should listen to him guys." She said gesturing to Ocara as she grabbed her self a weak Turian beer. "Besides it could have been worse, I've been on the recieving end of that." She said poping of the cap and taking a long drink.
