Lux:
Lux placed the two cameras he was carrying, hiding them around the fence encircling the perimeter of the factory.
"Cameras twelve and seventeen set up. You getting a good signal Sal?" he stood still, thrown off by the lack of reply. "Sal? You there?"
He opened up the com to the rest of his team. "Any of you getting contact with Sal?"
Dray:
"She says it is. All of it is, and she's right!" Dray was starting to babble, the words he was saying were making less and less sense. "There's only one person who I can blame, and that's me! It's my responsibility to take care of you, and when I can't, I have to fix it! Me!... Me! Me! ME!..."
He hit himself on the forhead as he repeatededly yelled 'Me!'. He still couldn't calm himself down. What little he had been using to hold himself had now broken, and a flood of misery and blame had pulled him under it's cold and hopeless surface.
Lux:
Lux opened his comm up to Verahl.
"Verahl, we've been trying to get a hold of Sal for a couple minutes now, with no response. What's going on over there?"
Verahl was stunned by this. Sal was always reliable, she wouldn't be distracted unless something had happened. He feared the worst, but knew not to let his mind jump to conclussions.
"Understood Lux, I'll try and get a hold of her. For now, get your team ready to extract."
"Understood," Lux switched channels back to his team. "The Boss is taking care of it, hopefully we won't have any problems. Now regroup and prepare to extract, we're heading back."
Verahl:
Verahl turned his back to the rest of his team. He felt it'd be better to try to handle things himself. He opened up his comm, and contacted Zar. It took a little while for her to respond, but she picked up soon enough.
"Hey Ver, sorry about that," her sweet voice broke the quiet, as Verahl realized the time. Right now, it was Zar's normal time for lunch. She probably had gone out to one of the restaurants or stalls at the market. "I'm waiting for Fiona right now at---"
Verahl had to interupt her. Zar had a tendancy to start rambling when she wasn't stopped, and he needed her to help him right now.
"Zar, I'm sorry, but this is quite important. Meet Fiona tomorrow, or afterwards, but we're having a problem right now that I need you to take care of."
She sighed, showing her disapproval, but knew that it'd be best to help Verahl. He normally didn't ask for her to alter her plans or to do something so short noticed, but knew the level of importance it normally involved when he did. "Yeah... What do you need?"
"Go back, and check up on Sal, she's not tuning in and we need her to check the cameras?
"You sure this can't wait? I mean, when I left I was sure that nothing was going to---"
"Zar... Please."
"Alright Ver, I'll check."
Zar:
Zar sighed as she pushed away from the table she was sitting at. She put her jacket on, and walked to the enterance. The host was standing there. She didn't know him by name, but they recognized each other by faces.
"Um... I'm sorry, but something urgent has come up. If you could tell my friend that I have to cancel lunch with her..."
"Don't worry, I'll tell her you weren't able to make it."
She thanked him and walked out of the restaurant, walking out into the market. She adjusted her jacket, and made sure that she looked presentable before walking back to the base. She was disappointed but knew full well that this was just a part of the job.
