When she heard the door's locks engage, Mayli laughed. Sal was so clouded with emotion right now. She was just like Dray, no wonder they got along so well. She might not have talked as much as him, but she was just as soft. Locking a door meant nothing to her. She waited a few minutes until she knew Sal had gone back downstairs to comfort Dray. She went into the bathroom, and went through to the other barracks. She checked the door. She laughed again. Sal hadn't locked it. She walked into the common room and to the kitchen. She grabbed a drink from the fridge and started to sip it slowly through the mask.
She was about to head back into her room, when she heard footsteps coming down the stairs. She saw Zar walking down them, wearing her coat and a look of disappointment on her face.
"Did something happen?" Zar asked Mayli, a bit unsure. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary to her.
"Oh..." Mayli paused for a second, but then saw a great opportunity in this. "Look, let's go upstairs and talk."
She lightly tugged at Zar's arm, and pulled her back upstairs so Sal wouldn't have the chance to overhear the two.
Thirty minutes later:
Verahl walked down the stairs towards the storage room. He was starting to get angry with Sal. Her performance right now was dreadful. Sure she finally had gotten back to her post and reported things to be fine, but if there had been a problem, it would have been almost impossible to fix. Mayli had told her everything. How Sal had flown completely off the handlebars at her over Dray, claiming she had threatened her with a shotgun for a few offhanded remarks she had made at Dray, before locking her in her room. This was completely unacceptable. Verahl needed to deal with this.
He came down into the storage room, and saw Sal and Dray sitting by the monitors. Before either of them could even welcome them back, Verahl had started.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Lux:
The rest of the company descended into the common room. Zar was talking with Mayli, feeling sorry for what the poor girl had gone through, while the others went about their own business. He personally just wanted a good meal at the moment. Maybe he'd go to a bar tonight. Hell, he'd bring Santius and Ocara along. Turians often became a good bit more fun with a few drinks in them.
