Raven walked from out of the bathroom fresh from a hot shower and a much needed shave. I wonder if I should just grow out a beard and be done with it? Donning his armor, he made a quick inspection of it and pleased to find everything in perfect working order, he made his way over to his weapons. Should I go dressed for war or covert ops? Deciding that being prepared was better than discretion for this mission, he holstered his Shredder and his combat shotgun along with a heavy pistol before making his way to his pride and joy. Smiling, he pulled his bowie knife from it's sheath along with a whetstone before he set about to sharpen it. Happy with his longest surviving weapon being in optimum condition, he placed the knife on his left hip for a left hand draw before heading back to the common room.

Meer waited for the others in the common room, making a last sweep over his gear. He was wearing a set of silvery armor, the kind you'd expect a warlord to be seen in. He'd "acquired" it during his stint with the Blood Pack, before repainting it upon his defection to Aegis. He'd lost the helmet back when Archangel was tearing up Omega; he remembered that day well, almost fondly.

He'd been on his way to meet up with Garm for the big attack on Archangel's little bunker. Right as he passed into a clear line, a bullet smacked right into Meer's face, shattering most of his helmet. It messed with his field of vision so badly he had to scrap it. About that time he realized it was suicide to even try this, and turned back. Ended up saving his life.

He'd never picked up a new one; supposed he decided that a krogan shouldn't need a helmet. He then checked his weapons. His old Revenant was as battered as ever, though a few new upgrades he'd scavenged from the armory had boosted its accuracy to the point of being a credible threat. He was proud of his accomplishment; not every day you intimidated a Salarian ex-commando to fix up your rifle for you. As for his sidearm.. nothing of value, really. He took a closer look at his old Kessler pistol. The thing was so old it didn't even use thermal clips. Not compatible, as far as he knew. He doubted he'd be using this today, but it saved his hide in the past, and he'd keep it just in case.

No computer, so no major post at the moment, but one concern. CJ, what are you meaning by intimidating Esten and him upgrading your weapon? If I gave that impression, I made a mistake, but he hardly shows real emotions nor is he intimidated by a Krogan at all. Is that just Meer's impression, or did I make a mistake?

Hmm, we have a Salarian ex-commando on our team? Cool! I was just trying to think of a character who would be A) Badass, and B) smart enough to repair Meer's stuff, and the end result was a Salarian ex-commando. I didn't know anyone in the company actually fit that description. I suppose I should pay more attention in the future. But no, my intention was just that Meer tracked down a Salarian and forced him to upgrade his weapon.

Oh, alright. You confused me when you posted that because we do have an Ex-STG Salarian on our team, in fact, it's the one you got into a bit of an agreement with, Esten. Honest mistake however.

Also, sorry for not being that active over the past few days, lately I've been being a bit busier, so the nights I would normally have spent checking the forum and continuing the RP, are now being squished by friends and my math course.

Verahl:

The company finished preparing, and doing their morning rituals before boarding the Gauntlet. Each took their regular seats, and waited for Verahl. When Verahl finally entered, he quickly scanned their ranks to ensure they were all prepared. His eyes stopped on Meer as he sighed.

"Meer, I have told you numerous times now. If you are going to wear that armor, have it dyed in the company's colours, or at least have our emblem added to it," he said, showing how he was annoyed by fact that Meer was still standing out amongst the others. Before when they were simply a mercenary company, he'd have accepted this without any real objection. Now however, they needed to be identifiable as to who they represented.

Verahl continued towards the cockpit, and sat down near its entrance. The destination was programmed, and the Gauntlet slowly buzzed to life and took off down the streets of Omega towards their destination. The proximity made the ride short, as they soon found themselves in front of a small diner. Most of the windows were covered, and the place appeared to be closed, when all other businesses would normally be opened. Verahl knocked on the door, and was greeted by an annoyed old Human woman. She started to hassle Verahl, stating how he forced her to close on a busy day, and that she was never bothered before Aegis. She quickly quieted though as Verahl's face showed all the disapproval he needed to quiet her. The door was left open, as Verahl stood on the steps, addressing the rest of them.

"This will be simple. Thayna, Raven, Zelios, and myself will be stationed inside the diner. The rest of you are on guard duty on the outside. Esten, Ocara, set up where you have a good view. The rest of you create a perimeter, and follow Lux's orders," he ordered, organizing the ranks of the company through his authority. "Understood?"

"Right boss" said Ocara as he shouldered Nag and entered a nearby building, hoping he could find a way to be able to see into the diner, as the roof wouldn't offer any view and so he would be useless as over watch.

Jogging up three flights of stairs brought Ocara to a corridor of closed apartment doors and so he began to approach each one in turn and scan them with his eyes FLIR function.

It almost made loosing the eye worth it.

After scanning most of the apartments and seeing some things that no Turian should ever see, he found an empty one and quickly attached the silencer to his Kessler before firing a couple of muted shots into the hinges, making it easy to detach and enter the apartment.

He looked around quickly to get his bearings, pistol raised just incase the occupant was a somehow cold-blooded, but he found nothing and so quickly proceeded to check the window that overlooked the street and found that importantly, he could see clearly into the diner where the meeting would the place.

He pulled the apartments bed to the window and lay down on it, slightly back from the window so as not to spotted and rifle beside him, nothing would give people the creeps more than seeing the barrel of a rifle sticking out from a window.

After much shifting to get comfortable, he touched his hand to his comm unit and spoke in softly, his 'mission persona' taking over.

"In position"

Ok, tomorrow I'll be available all day as-per-usual but its safe to assume that from Sunday night until Tuesday morning I'll be 'indisposed'. If shit goes down could you have Ocara rack up a kill or two please Ted?

"Understood boss." Sal said with a nod as she took out her SMG and walked around behind the diner. She paced back and fourth between the ally's on either side of the diner. "Ready ad in postion." She whispered into her comm to Lux.

Basara was sitting outside the diner, looking for all the world like a customer. Lux had told him to sit there, as he would most likely attract the least amount of attention so long as he didn't 'screw shit up', in Lux's words. He was also in a good position to help, in case shit truly hit the ceiling. Basara had already planned every exit and what route he would take depending on where the enemy was. He also had lightly bandaged his arm, so that it appeared more like as a broken arm, and less like a spiky gauntlet o' doom. Basara turned on his comm while appearing to scratch his neck. "Basara, ready and in position. Just say the word."

Thayna moved past Verahl and stepped into the diner. She took a few seconds to look around the room, assessing the area in case anything went wrong. Glancing over her shoulder, she said, "Where do you want me?"

As the other mercs set up around the diner, Meer was a few doors down the street, talking with a volus in a small shop. "Well," the krogan began. "turns out this color isn't suitable. I need it repainted."

"Again? What colors... do you want?" The volus asked him.

"The Aegis colors. Need to be more in 'uniform'" Meer replied, making air quotes.

"I'll get... right on that. If you'll just hand me... the armor, I'll get started."

"No, not now." Meer said.

"Than when?"

"Later today. Right now I'm a bit short on time. I'm just setting up the whole thing. I'd rather not have you busy when I need this done."

"I think I see your... point. I'll clear up today's schedule."

"Good." Meer said, walking back outside before heading off to a street corner to wait. He stood there, watching the traffic go by as he reported in.

"I'm in, er, position." Meer whispered into his comlink.

Verahl:

Verahl took a seat in the middle of the diner, while the only waitress there brought him a cold drink.

"Where do you want me?"

"Anywhere in the diner, as long as you're ready to strike if things turn for the worse."

He picked the drink up, and drank a small amount of it. The sweetness and coolness refreshed him. He leaned back, and scanned the diner. Apart from the waitress and owner, the place was deserted. He had arrived the day before and told the owner he'd need it shut until afternoon for their meeting. While the owner had a small fit at it, Verahl made his point clear, and reassured her that it would be the only thing they asked from her.

She held up her end of the bargain.

Lux:

Lux watched as everyone took their positions around the diner. Most simply surrounded it, taking places in alley ways or around the street nearby. He watched as Esten and Ocara scurried into a nearby apartment complex, and found everyone's actions suitable. He then noticed Meer wander off down the street towards a small shop. He checked the time on his Omni-Tool.

Still have a while before the meeting starts, but if he's not back soon, I'll haul his ass out.

Within a few minutes, he saw Meer exit the shop and take up his position. He stood across from the diner, leaning against the apartment complex walls as he watched the others, waiting for the other mercenary company to arrive.

I REALLY misunderstood that, that's entirely my bad. If you want, I could just retcon the whole thing, as I thought the diner was where I was supposed to go. :(

Esten:

Esten followed Ocara through the apartment complex to the one he finally stopped at. He waited for him to finish with the door before following inside. He shook his head as he looked back at the door.

"I could have hacked that, or we could have taken a different position," he said, disapproving of Ocara's actions. "Not only are we breaking into a home, one which we are supposed to be protecting, but also causing damage to it."

He sighed as he dragged towards the small balcony of the apartment.

"Leaving a trail also..."

No problem, edit it if you missed that bit. I suspected there might have been a misunderstanding, so I'm fine with retconning it.

When you're done, I'll change Verahl's and Lux's reaction as well.

Also, we've had a roster changed. PsychoticForesight has now dropped from the RP. I'm not going to be taking any more NPCs at the moment, so treat Zelios as though he never existed.

Uh, for the sake of making up lost time, I'm going to skip ahead to the meeting. Feel free to respond to Esten still Big, but I'm just doing this to start up the next bit.

After waiting a little over a half hour, over a dozen armed mercenaries could be seen walking down the street towards the diner. The Void Riders had arrived. Each were clad in blue and black armor, with white highlights running down them in a variety of designs. They were made up of mostly Humans, Turians, Batarians, but a lone Krogan and a pair of Asari stood on opposite ends. In the centre stood a Turian, leading the rest of them towards the diner. His skin was dark, a mix between red and brown, as he wore white markings on his face in a pattern that matched his armors design. His armor was slightly different as well, the blue sections being replaced with red. The Human and Batarian that stood to his sides also wore red instead of blue.

As they approached the diner, Lux stepped out into the middle of the street, holding his hand up indicating for them to stop.

"We've been waiting, you remember the arrangement?"

The Turian nodded, as he, the Batarian, and the Krogan continued into the diner. The rest of the company stopped and waited, as the Human was left to deal with the rest.

"I assume you have a perimeter set up," he said as he glanced towards the Aegis members that could be seen on the street. "Hope you don't mind if we follow suit."

Lux grunted before nodding, as the Void Riders dispersed into nearby alleyways and to different sections of the street. The Human in red simply smiled as he leaned against the diner's wall, across from Lux, before lighting a cigarette.

Verahl:

Verahl stood up as the three men entered the diner. He nodded at the Turian with his eyes closed, showing him respect, before ushering to the table in front of him. He beckoned Raven over also, as they soon took their seats in the booth. In front of Raven and Verahl sat the Turian and Batarian. While the Turian was focused on Verahl, the Batarian seemed to be glancing around the diner, observing the details of his surroundings.

"I'm Verahl, this is Raven, my second in command. You must be Lantus, and that Orzane, correct?"

Lantus nodded, while Orzane only now turned towards the table to face the rest of them.

"I believe most of the discussions have already been agreed upon, so we won't need this to take up too much of our time, correct?" asked Lantus.

"Yes, I simply prefer to have a face to face before we finalize things," Verahl said. "I at least want to know who I've been dealing with for the past few weeks."

"I suppose," the Turian said indifferently.

The table sat silent for a moment, as each examined the other, trying to measure them up to see if they fit their expectations.

Meer watched as the scene unfolded, reaching for his hip flask of ryncol as they went inside, taking a swig from it before muttering to himself. "Damn, they look organized. Maybe even... professional. A darn shame, looks like we might not have a fight after all."
