Yossar took his position, the entrance of an allyway that gave him a clear view of the diner and the street, if a fight broke out the walls would provide plenty of cover. He kept his Shuriken sub machine gun in hand, his eyes warily scanned the streets. Staying on perimeter pissed him off, he wasn't the kind of person to do a job half assed, so he would be on full alert for the entire duration of the meeting. But that also meant he could be waiting for hours, as Verahl and Raven did whatever, during this time he would scanning each and every passerby meticolously, gauging how much of a threat they could pose.

As he looked around he saw a human, dressed in Void rider colors, and carrying an assualt rifle, the human took a post across the street from Yossar. They instantly made eye contact, each recognizing the other for what they were. The kept it up for several seconds, each staring daggers at one another, the human broke first, turning head to scan the pedestrians. As he did that Yossar shifted his position, his head flangs twitched nervously.

Void Rider:

"Eh, if you're intimidated by matching armor and walking in a formation, you should see our base," a Human Void Rider said sarcastically as he passed by Meer. "The way the carpets match the wall hangings will put the spook in ya."

"Damn it David," the Turian beside him moaned.

Thayna sat at the bar of the diner, listening attentively to the conversation. She had made sure she was close enought to respond instantly if anything went wrong but, so far, it seemed the Void Raiders had the professionalism to avoid anything like that. Shame.

"Don't worry, I'll leave a note" joked Ocara just as he noticed what looked like the other merc company heading towards the diner. He zoomed in with his eye and there they were, each clad in their matching blue-black armour and looking deadly serious. He didn't know what it was about them, but something made him nervous.

"Heads up" he whispered to Esten as he rested his hand on the rifle that lay beside him, gaining some comfort from Nag's proximity and the fact that he was invisible to the enemy.

He hoped at least

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

"Back left, by the alley way Thayna, watch him" he whispered into the comm device.

During the meeting Ocara spent his time spotting and informing his comrades via comm, of the locations of the Void security. If shit went down like he suspected it to, the team would have a good advantage over their would-be opponents.

Sorry for the crappy post, not all of last nights booze has left me yet XD', I hope its ok though

Basara took a sip of his water then put it back down. He noticed more and more Void Riders coming every second. He keyed in his comm. "Yo, Esten, Ocara, are you guys seeing this? Hell of a lot of guys to bring to a simple face to face. Watch the north side, more guys coming over there. I might just be getting paranoid, but I ain't liking this setup much."

Esten:

Esten keyed his comm, opening the channel for him to speak.

"Simple paranoia Basara, their patrols aren't stationary, they're moving around," he said, as he took his eyes off the meeting and turned to watch the patrol turn in at the top of the street. "Second time I've seen them coming through. Don't worry."

"Seeing it all too clearly" replied Ocara softly, his hands unconsciously playing with the lens cap on Nag, easing his tension somewhat.

He focused on the two targets he'd picked for himself, they stood almost side-by-side next to each other outside a shop, murmuring to each other and looking around nervously. They were far enough away from each other so that the recoil generated by his rifle, if channelled properly, would lead the cross-hair right onto the forehead of the other in a fluid motion.

Basara shrugged. "Ah well, it's kept me alive so far. Wonder if they're thinking the same things we-or rather, I- am, that there could be a betrayal. Or maybe they think that there might be someone out there who wouldn't want this deal to go down." He then shut off the comm for a second and muttered, "I swear I've seen the same guy twice now." Before turning back on the comm.

Verahl:

Lantus broke the silence with a cough, while Orzane started to tap the table with his fingers.

"So," Verahl said slowly, "Are we in agreement on all terms?"

Lantus simply nodded.

"Territory borders, defensive pacts, expansion plans? Nothing you want to change or discuss?"

Lantus shrugged.

"Look, we're busy, we agree to the terms. Nothing left to discuss," Lantus said, showing how eager he was to finish things.

"Fine," Verahl said. "If we're at complete agreement, I guess we can conclude things. You have any troubles or need help, call us and we'll see what we can do."

Lantus nodded again.

"We'll do the same," he then turned to his comrades. "Orzane, Mardo, let's go."

Orzane and Lantus slid out from the booth, while the Krogan started talking into his comm as he went to the door. Outside the rest of the Void Riders regrouped outside the diner and started to make their way back down the street.

Verahl turned to Raven.

"Don't talk much, do they?"

Meer nodded to the two in front of him, pointing at their allies leaving the diner. "Looks like everything between your boss and mine's been set up." He said. As they turned to leave he cleared his throat to get their attention. "On behalf of Aegis, I apologize about the negotiations going so well. I hope we'll get to kill each other at an agreeable time in the future."

His time in the Blood Pack had dealt a major blow to both his self-preservation and his people skills.

Yossar watched the Human across the road stand down, and walk back to the rest of his group, Yossar decided to contact the others on his comm, " Are we done?" He asked, the question was directed at Lux, but he supposed anyone could answer it. Meanwhile he kept up his vigil, in case they came out guns-blazing.

"HoIy bouncing Buddha, I need a drink." He added as he felt how tense and on edge he still was.

"Yep, they are moving out, looks like you don't get to crush anything Meer" said Ocara into his comm unit as he began to feel the tension that had mounted considerably during the meeting begin to melt off of his body, leaving him relaxed and slightly serene, the kind of serene that only one other thing could give him.

He stood up from the bed and rolled it back into its position, noting the name he spotted on an envelope for future reference, he wasn't going to leave 'Mr Herayd' out of pocket for the door and so he would remember his name so he could find a way to repay him, it was the least he could do.

He knelt next to the window and watched the rest of the Raiders begin to slowly disperse from the scene, his rifle held loosely in his arms just in case they decided to party after all.

"And Thayna, welcome to an Aegis first, a job that goes down relatively smoothly, we should all be very proud"

Thayna rose from her seat as the members of the other group left the diner. She stepped out onto the street so she could watch them all leave the area. It was only as they left that she felt the tension that had built up inside her throughout the meeting. She sighed softly as the feeling slowly dissipated. She had been convinced the Void Raiders would try to betray them. Now it would be interesting to see how they worked with Aegis.

"And Thayna, welcome to an Aegis first, a job that goes down relatively smoothly, we should all be very proud"

She heard Ocara's voice through her comlink and spoke into it to reply as she leaned herself against the wall of the diner next to the door, watching the last of the Raiders leave.

"They probably knew not to try anything with all of us ready if they tried. Do you guys think we can trust them?"

Verahl:

Verahl followed behind Thayna as she left the diner with Raven behind him. He looked down the street but couldn't spot any of the Riders. Either they had been absorbed by the crowd or turned off onto a different street or alley.

"They probably knew not to try anything with all of us ready if they tried. Do you guys think we can trust them?"

He had the same thought in his mind. Trust was not to be believed in until it had been cememted. Until they started to work together, or depend upon one another, Verahl wasn't sure how much faith he should put into it.

He opened his comm channel, so all may listen to his response to Thayna.

Best to put as many minds to rest at once.

"We can only wait to see," he said cautiously. "For now, we will though, unless proven otherwise. Now, regroup on the Gauntlet."

"Right boss, Esten lets roll" said Ocara, the first part into his com but the second was over the apartment and towards Esten's position.

He jogged out the apartment building the way he had entered and stood beside the Gauntlet, surprised that he was the first back. He took a seat on the ramp and waited for the others to join him.

As he waited he spotted a store and decided to pop over and pick a little something up for when they had returned to base, returning a few minutes later with two bags, both of them filled with liquor, Human and otherwise. It was time the company got to know each other a little and relax some more.

By the time Ocara had returned to the Gauntlet, Meer was waiting with a glass of ryncol that he had apparently stashed on his person somehow. He waved to him, chuckling a bit. "About damn time somebody else brought the booze!"

Sal approached the Gauntlet her SMG back at her side. She was happy that things turned out they way they had. She noticed the liquor bottles. She chuckled nervously. "Hehe don't take it the wrong way Ocara but I may have to excuse myself from the drinks during the after party.

"Hey now! Whats with everyone assuming I bought all this to share?" replied Ocara with a grin. as his comrades began to slowly trickle back to the Gauntlet.

Lux:

"I did," Lux said as his hand shot inside one of the bags, grabbing a bottle, and reeled it out. "Least since you bought the type the rest of us can drink."

"After all, some people," his eyes landed on Meer. "Wind up drinking all of yours when you aren't looking. So let's say that bag's yours, and this one's ours."

He grinned as he opened up the bottle he was holding, took a swig, and handed it to Raven.

Raven took the offered bottle before taking a long swig. Nothing like some alcohol after an easy mission. Drinking some more of the liquor, he handed it back to Lux before grinning "What's wrong with passing the bottle around Ocara?"
