"I'm up for doing it as well." Thayna said. She hadn't had a chance to really use her biotics for a while, and the thought of leaving the 4-6 with some broken bones appealed to her greatly.
"I'll plant the chrage sir." Sal said raising her hand. She was ready to blow these 4-6 assholes off of Omega. She felt blowing up their warehouse would be the next best thing.
Verahl nodded, at each of the volunteers. He was certain the roles would be have been quickly filled, but he still had to decide over the Biotic.
"Santius, I want you going in right behind Moloa. Her skills are more tuned for this position."
The rest of the flight was spent preparing for the operation. Everyone knew they only had minutes to get this right, or else they'd have the rest of the 4-6 showing up to meet them. A few minutes passed before Verahl rose again. He handed the charges to Raven and Sal, before walking to the cargo bay's doors.
"We've got one minute until we touch down. We'll be setting down directly beside the warehouse, so they'll know we're here. When these doors open, I want Thayna and Moloa going immediately after Meer and Lux, you two are going to take down anyone you see when it opens. Now back to you two, blast whatever doors you see open, and storm inside. Once in, the first guards you see I want pinned against the wall, floor, whatever's easiest for you. Any we can't capture, have them taken out quickly."
Verahl turned back to Sal and Raven.
"Sal, I want you on the perimeter. Plant your charges on whichever areas seem weakest. Same with you Raven, except you'll be taking the inside. We'll provide both of you distractions, but if anyone gets in your way, don't be afraid to put them down."
Verahl turned to stand back in the middle of the bay doors.
"Twenty seconds! On your feet!"
With that, everyone stood, ready for the doors to open and for them to rush in. The doors started to peel back before the Gauntlet even touched the ground. Before the thud could even be felt, both Krogans were out the door, and on the ground, ready to shoot anything that moved. No one came out of the warehouse though.
When the Gauntlet finally touched, the rest of the company stormed out. The building was boxed shaped. Little jutted out other then the occasional pipe or vent. They had landed by one of the back corners to the building. To their right, a large door cargo door could be seen. Here was where transports similiar to the Gauntlet would land and unload their goods. Verahl directed the company towards it.
"Let's see who's home," he said as he set a small charge in the centre.
The charge detonated only seconds after being armed, barely giving Verahl anytime to get out of the blast. As the smoke settled, a large hole could be seen in the middle of the doors. The doors were thin enough to make an entry like this possible. Hacking would have taken far longer to accomplish.
"Go!" Verahl shouted to Thayna and Santius, instructing them towards the opening.
The inside is similiar to the first warehouse. Several larges shevles make up many rows and line the walls. An office is in the far back corner. Feel free to take one or two guards down now, but I don't want all of them taken down immediately.
The cell was small, with little in it. Only the bed that Ocara was on, a sink, and one of those strange and never comfortable 'universally accessible' toliets filled it. The bars that held Ocara were painted white and thick, it would have been difficult to cut even if proper tools had been provided in order to do.
As Ocara sat on the edge of the bed, examining himself to see what damage had been done to him, he heard doors opening nearby. Soon, in front of his cell, stood a familiar looking man.
"Vance put quite a number on you, didn't he?" Kurt mocked. "I'd hate to have been on the end of that one. Oh, and between you and me, thanks for shooting Al. Hated that bastard ever since he walked through the doors."
He smiled at Ocara, before drawing his pistol and aiming it right at his face.
"Now, in a moment, these doors are going to open. Before they do, I'll give you a quick reminder of what type of situation you are in. You are in the middle of our territory, in the heart of our base, without armor, without a weapon, and without your friends. Me? All I have on me at the moment is this little beauty, but outside? Well, outside I have a whole load of buddies, all to eager to put one in some jumpy Turian who decided that today was the day he was going to be a hero."
The cell doors slowly slid open, letting Ocara out into the hallway. Kurt lowered his gun, but still kept it drawn and ready in case Ocara tried anything.
"Now, what I want you to do, is to walk down this hallway, and then across the next room to the elevator. We're going to go up it, and meet the boss. He wants a couple words with you."
Meer's blood was pumping. This was the sort of thing he'd been waiting for. He wanted so badly to rush in and crush every one of those bastards by hand, but Verahl had been very clear that he was to cover the others. And cover them he would. He leaned in from his point of cover, with his gun through the opening in the side of the building. He opened fire with his Revenant like a maniac, determined to hit everything he could before he allies got inside and forced him to aim carefully.
"Oh Christ," said the man watching the cameras. Only a few moments ago, he and a few others had been sitting inside the office of the warehouse enjoying the meal they ordered, ove a game of Poker. Guard duty was essentially the easy shift. It meant they weren't out on patrol around their territory, checking in on different people and making sure things ran smoothly, or busting some skulls in to earn their wages. All they had to do was sit back, and make sure shit didn't hit the fan. Tonight however, was soon proving not to be one of those nights. As the man watched the Gauntlet land outside, and as Meer and Lux secured it, he realized that shit was going to hit the fan tonight, and it was going to be by the pound.
"We got company!" He yelled as he turned to the others. Cards were dropped, and chairs knocked over as everyone scrambled from their seats to get their weapons.
"How many?" one of them shouted while checking his rifle.
"Lots!" was the only thing that the other could come up with. He hadn't even had the chance to count them, all he knew was they had to get out of their.
They all looked at the cameras once again, to see all of Aegis Company unloading, and heading towards the warehouse.
"Alex, backup, now! Iz, please tell me you have a couple charges or something."
Izzy shook his head, they needed to find a way out quickly.
"Shit! Um... Alright, grab your weapons and run! Get to the front doors, let's see if we can lose them on the streets!"
Suddenly, a large and sudden slam was heard, as the charges set on the back doors detonated.
"Let's go, let's go!" one of them screamed, as they all ran out of the office, rushing for the front door. Their only hope to get out of this situation alive, was to escape it.
Just as a reminder, the office is on the other wall of the warehouse. It would be possible to hear their yelling though, or see them running across the warehouse to the front doors.
Before the 4-6 even knew what was happening, shots were being fired, and boxes being thrown around the building. They hadn't made it far enough by the time the fighting started. The furthest two kept heading for the doors, while the other two quickly dove for cover behind some shelves, and returned fire. Shots were being fired back now at both Santius and Meer, desperatly trying to buy themselves some time to keep moving.
Verahl watched from the doorway as the two 4-6 brutes kept running for the door. He feared that they would escape, so he quickly opened his Comm to Sal.
"Sal, we have two of them heading for the front door, ignore the charges for now, try and cut them off!"
He stepped back away from the opening, and let Lux take his place, firing at the 4-6 inside. He quickly moved over to Karnak, Yossar, and Esten.
"I don't want to be heading to the front in the next couple minutes to pick up Sal's body before we leave. Go around and help her stop them, go!"
Meer returned fire at the two 4-6 who had bothered to stop and fight back. He had put in a new thermal clip, and restricted himself to short, controlled bursts. It was incredibly boring, but he knew from experience it worked when you wanted something dead. He chose the merc farthest to the right and sent 8 shots his way.
Izzy had been focusing on Santius moving up, that he didn't even notice the first couple shots from the Revenant hitting nearby him. By the time he moved to cover, he already felt the blast from a few nail into his shields and armor.
He took in a few deep breaths, as he checked his front plate. A large indentation was left in it, from when the shields had overloaded. He couldn't remember if four or three shots had hit him. All he knew was that if another few did the same, his insides would be be soup.
He waited a moment for his shields to come back online, but they refused to fully charge.
That fucking brute must have damaged them!
He swore a few times under his breath, and looked down to Alex. He was screaming into his comm, while periodically jumping out from behind a box to fire back at the doorway.
"We have to move!" Izzy yelled as he dove towards a few crates in front of him, further to Alex. "We stay like this much longer, we're going to be shreaded!"
"I fucking know, the cavalry is coming soon! Just have to hold out---"
A couple shots blasted into his shield, one of them breaking through, ricocheting off of his should pad.
"Son of a *****!"
Izzy popped back up to take Alex's place, while his shields recharged.
Sal looked up from a chrage that was hal way through arming when she heard Ver's voice. Sal, we have two of them heading for the front door, ignore the charges for now, try and cut them off!" "Uderstood." She said drawing her SMG and heading in the direction of the front door. She arrived at the same time as the two 4-6 members. Sal sent an Incenerate at them and watched as flames covered one. The other dove for cover behind a low wall. This gave Sal enough time to take cover around a corner of the building.
"Okay I've stopped them from continuing but not permanently. I'm gonna need some help with these two." she said over her com as she sent a quick burst into the chest of the 4-6 member who had hid droping his shield a fraction.
"Affirmative." Yossar immediately took off after her. Sprinting with his pistol in his right hand and with his biotics active and ready. He saw Sal in cover and and slid to a stop right behind her. He took a deep breath to prepare himself, then took a step away from the wall and into the open, then the remaining 4-6 opened fire. As the bullets slammed into his shields he biotically pulled the 4-6 up and out of his cover, sending tumbling through the air slowly. He then leveled his pistol and fire four shots, before retreating back into cover.
"Sal, I pulled one finish him." He yelled as he got back behind the wall.
Raven had made it into the building with a dead sprint before slipping into the shadows, doing his best to not get shot in the crossfire. Just what I need to do, get shot by own teammates in the middle of a battlefield. Planting his charges throughout the inside of the base, he looked for a suitable vantage point from which to provide aid to his team. Nothing good on the ground floor, Hmm. What about the office? Glancing towards it, he made his choice and began a short sprint to his new vantage point.
The 4-6 paniced and hit the ground. While the fire didn't break his shields, it definetly startled him. He looked nearby. Other then the few crates that hadn't been loaded that stood between him and the warehouse, there was little in the way. He looked back at his partner, who had hung back in cover, peering his head up to watch for whoever shot at them, and then turned to look towards the street. The main enterance in the fence was close by, it would only be a short sprint to get to it, then all he'd have to do is keep running until he was safe.
He poked his head up, quickly looking to see if their attacker was there, before jumping the crate, and running for the gate. His partner watched, as the other flee, not sure to be impressed by his courage to run from cover into the middle of the battlefield, or to shoot him himself for abandoning him in order to save his own ass. Instead of thinking about his partner though, he stood up, waiting for whoever was behind the building to step out and try to make their shot, so he could make his. He watched as a Turian turned the corner, and started firing on him. Suddenly, a blue ball of energy had been launched, and before he could react, he was already hovering helplessly just above the height of the fence.
Izzy turned, stunned by the Turians sudden appearance. The charge had knocked Alex back, nearly against the wall. He watched as Alex was held, with a knife at his throat, struggling for breath under the sharp metal. Izzy aimed his weapon, right at Santius's side, taking a moment to make sure he'd hit.
"Rethinking your choice of career?"
Izzy pulled the trigger, unloading his rifle at the Turian at almost point blank range. It would only take a moment to strip his shields, and then blow through the armor.
Maybe he should have been more concerned with his own.
"Thanks for the assist Yossar." She said turning to the one running. Never leave you backside exposed in a fire fight. She thought quoting her ships captain once more. She quickly switched to her Viper and fired four shots into the back of the runners legs. the first missed, the second and third connected dropping his shields and the fourth went through his right knee, dropping him. And Ver's request for a live 4-6 is granted. "Yossar, you think you can get him constrained while I go back to the charges?"
