Duncan patted Magnus on the shoulder, "Man we've been with you thus far and I see no reason to ditch yet. You've been a steadfast friend and an excellent companion. I only hope that together we can finally end this threat. It needs to be done."

Duncan meant every word he said, it was time to go outside of the area he had grown up in and instead help in a note worthy cause instead.

"Thank you guys..." Magnus thanked his friends and allies. He paused for a moment, and thought about something. "We have to find our allies... All of them. There have to be more trainers willing to fight, but don't have the opportunity. We need to find them, and give them the opportunity to fight back against Team Rocket!"

Magnus stood up and looked at his fellow Trainers. He smiled proudly, his determination renewed.

"I'll be with you! I am not going to abandon this cause, Team Rocket has gotten away with too much. I must admit, though, I was on the edge about this for a while. But now I feel I need to go with you, I can't back out from this." Dani said passionately. She meant every word, although she was still incredibly scared about what would happen.

After that exchange of inspirational words, and pledges of loyalty, the group continued on. As they walked, Magnus had begun to speak with Shade, getting to know the Trainer a little better. He had learned a few things about the tall, strong young man. He learned that he had saved Charcoal from Team Rocket, and about his other Pokemon as well. He also learned a few things about Shade himself, like his vegetarianism, and his bisexuality.

"Okay... Why'd you go vegetarian?" Magnus couldn't help but ask. "Not that I mind, but was it for some spiritual reason, or just personal conviction?"

Magnus could understand why some people would do that, and the obvious health benefits, but he enjoyed eating the flesh of other creatures too much, as cruel as that sounded when worded that way.

After a while walking, Sylas felt his uneasiness about their mission start to dissipate. Magnus' confession was unsettling, but the more he thought about it he realized that it didn't change much. Magnus was still the same guy who had let them stay with his family, and trained with them, and helped him figure out Vandal. He just happens to have very powerful enemies.

Vandal had opted to go back into the pokeball for a rest once they started walking, and Sylas had let him. The scyther had been a big help getting through the web-filled forest and deserved a rest.

In the meantime, Sylas had decided to bring out his other two partners. Duchess was sitting comfortable on his shoulder. Her hind legs were standing on the top of his backpack and her large, black, almond-shaped eyes were watching their surroundings. Baron was on the other side with his legs straddling Sylas' shoulder and his little claws clinging to the collar of the shirt.

He carefully adjusted his backpack so it say higher on his back, making sure not to knock either of his charges off. He looked over at Dani and decided to strike up a conversation.

"Hey Dani, can I ask you where you found Shelly?" he said, remembering her Togepi. They were a very rare species, and he was curious about how she had caught one.

Sorry about how late and short this is. I haven't been feeling the best lately.

"Well I guess it would fall under spiritual reason. I could never bring myself to kill an innocent creature or pay someone for committing the act." Explained Shade calmly with a friendly smile "I don't hold anything against people who eat meat I just don't want to see the murder being committed."

Shade turned his attention to the whole group. "So what do you all do? Are you trainers, breeders or something entirely different?"

"I understand, I suppose." Magnus agreed somewhat with Shade. "I'll make sure that I don't let you see me hunting."

Shade then asked about the group in general, wondering as to their philosophy on Pokemon.

"I suppose I qualify as a Trainer and a Breeder." Magnus answered Shade's question. "I've had Quillz for about five years now, and I've trained her pretty well, I think. I've done well with my other Pokemon too, especially the ones I've raised from birth."

"I don't know what you'd call me." Sylas said, turning to Shade. "I never considered myself much of a trainer."

To help him prove his point, he reached over his head and unsheathed his katana. The sudden motion startled Duchess, causing her to dig her claws into his shoulder. He hissed in a breath and put his hand on her back. "Take it easy."

He grabbed he pokeball from his shoulder-strap and tapped her into it. Baron took the hint and jumped to the ground, starting to walk beside Wes.

"I was always more interested in my craft." he said, giving the sword a flourish. "Vandal, my scyther, kinda found me and clung to me. For a while it was just him and Baron with me, I never trained them too rigorously except when I sparred with Vandal.

"I don't know, what would you call me?"

"You're a Fighter." Magnus told his friend. "Correct me if I sound wrong. You like to train your Pokemon to be strong, and able to not only protect themselves, but each other. You yourself train with your Pokemon by facing them in combat..."

Magnus watched as Sylas twirled the blade once with finesse, his Pokemon taking note of the slightest movements in his body and moving down to walk beside him.

"Even your choice of Pokemon reflects it." Magnus added. "All have a high Attack power, and are for the most part quick."

"That sounds about right, actually." Sylas said. He looked down at Baron, who was now mimicking his trainer's flourishes with his bone club. While it looked a bit awkward, it wasn't bad.

"I haven't sparred with Vandal in a while, I'll have to do that tonight." he mused, giving the sword a few more turns before smoothly returning it to it's sheath.

"You should..." Magnus remarked. "Bonding with your Pokemon is important... I think that we should all take some time tonight to really bond with them."

The group continued walking, until finally they made it out of the Ilex Forest, and were finally on Route 34 as the sun was setting.

"Finally... glad to be out of that fucking forest." Magnus yawned and stretched. "We should probably make camp for the night... We'll reach Goldenrod City in the morning..."

"Oh, good." Sylas breathed as they left the forest. "I'm already tired of the wilderness. I can't wait for Goldenrod."

He dropped his backpack on the ground as they all started making camp. Baron stayed sitting nearby, watching as his trainer unpacked his blankets and laid them out under a tree. Sylas made a mental note to pick up an actual tent in the city. It seemed they were always too busy in a city, either with a gym or with a tragedy, or both, that they hadn't had much time to take care of necessities.

As soon as the bed was laid out, Baron wandered over and sat down at the foot of it. He curled a corner over himself and closed his eyes.

Sylas couldn't help but smile at his partner. "G'night, bud." Baron gave a mumbled reply, and gave the best version of a smile he could manage.

Leaving the cubone alone, Sylas took a pokeball from his backpack and clicked the button. A red beam flashed out and resolved into the shape of his scyther. Vandal looked around curiously, before setting his eyes on his trainer.

"You up for a match?"

"It's about damned time. I thought I'd have to challenge you again."

"Heh, you know we've been busy." Sylas grabbed his paintball-style mask and put it over his face, then unsheathed his sword. Vandal instantly lowered his stance and tucked his arms in close, pointing his wings straight back. Sylas rolled his shoulders, then held the sword out in front of him with the tip pointed slightly upward. The two stood off, slowly circling and closing the space between them.

[HEADING=1]ATTENTION[/HEADING]
Until further notice, Masters will be on hiatus. It won't be too long, hopefully... But not that it really matters. None of you care anymore.
