You can say the same thing about the 360, just look at how many games have gone to the PC from the 360 or are launched as games with PC as the second platform then there are the games like Eternal Sonata, Lost Planet, Overlord, and Enchanted Arms which are all either on the PS3 now or are in the process of being ported. Then there is Ninja Gaiden Sigma which really is the best verrsion of that game by far.beddo said:It's difficult to tell.
Don't forget that this is all big business. For third party developers, while it makes sense to have something 'exclusive' for marketing purposes and increased demand through 'hype' they want to generate as much profit as possible. If you look at the 'big' titles they try to release on as many platforms as possible often with numerous skus.
As a demonstration look at the following Playstation 3 'exclusives' theat went multi-platform or did not come out on PS3 at all:
Grand Theft Auto IV - PS3 exclusive now a multi-platform release.
Assassins Creed - PS3 exclusive now a multi-platform release.
Devil May Cry 4 - Implied PS3 exclusive now a multi-platform release.
Virtue Fighter 5 - PS3 exclusive now a multi-platform release.
Beautiful Katamari - PS3 exclusive now an Xbox 360 only title.
Fatal Inertia - PS3 exclusive now a multi-platform release where the Xbox 360 version was released first.

Not to mention the infamous case Resident Evil 4 going to playstation 2.
Clearly these changes of heart by developers and pubishers are hugely influenced by the popularity and salse of hardware. Given the recent increased popularity of the PS3 it is entirely possible that Konami will only want to sell on PS3 although if they can make money elsewhere it is more than likely they will try.
It's kind of sad in a way because in many cases these ports ebd up being weaker overall. As far as I am concerned Microsoft needs to spend more time generating new IP's rather than trying to get IP's from the other company. They also need to stop putting every other IP of theirs on the PC because most of the time the PC version ends up being better than the 360 version of the game. I'm pretty sure that Mass Effect will be able to load much better on the PC than it was able to do on the 360, I do not care about Gears of War 2 on the 360 because I have some confidence that it will find its way to the PC just as the first game did. Microsoft is killing itself with this whole exclusive thing, it seems as though they are relying on names that we know as Sony staples to make their name for them when you are not looking at FPS' which are a given as multiplatform games.
This year the line up is just looking plain ugly for the 360 and part of the reason is because they have refused to grow a brand around the Xbox and instead built their brand around one game, Halo. When you think of an Xbox you think of Halo, Sony does not have this problem, when you think of a Playstation there simply is not one game that defines the Playstation brand. In fact the 360 is begining to have a problem not entirely dissimillar to the one that Nintendo has, they are allowing themselves to be cast as the "FPSbox" just as Nintendo has allowed themselves to be cast as "kid friendly." Ironically being cast as "kid friendly" is a hell of alot better than becoming the "FPSbox" what with all the hooting jerkoffs on Xbox Live that people seem to encounter quite a bit.
