Michael Cera: What do you think of him?

He's a funny actor, that's what I think. I especially enjoyed Youth In Revolt because he gets to show a darker side.

His whole shtick is wearing thin now, he needs to step it up or go away. he can't just play that role forever and ever.

Did like him in arrested development, though.

I actually think Jesse eisenberg has better comic timing (making the comparison because they have the exact same acting style)

OP: I'm sorry but he really puts me off movies and its more a subconscious thing then anything else.
When someone was first telling me the premise of Scott Pilgrim i was quite excited, then i found out Michael Cera was in it and it went from a movie I was gonna put time aside to watch to one that I figured i'd watch if i happend to be at the movies. With time to kill. A long way from the nearest bar.

i dont hate the guy but he really turns me off any movies with him. The only thing I really think about when i see him is thank god he wasn't in Kick Ass.

I despise Michael Cera.

His voice and the characters that he frequently plays are so grating and predictable that I refuse to watch any retarded movie starring him. Superbad was the worst of it, in my opinion.

His best role? The one where he gets shot in the face and dumped in a ditch... That one is in my dreams. Nightly.
He just has that look. Its like Shia Lebouf. No matter what as soon as I see him I want bad things to happen to him. Not the character, the actual actor himself.
Plus he also seems to be one of those one role actors where he can only play one part and that it is. I hate those types with a passion.

I loved Arrested Development, but anyone could have played George Michael Jr.- there were far, far better actors in that show that deserve the recognition he's getting now.

I'm still going to go see Scott Pilgrim, but only because I know Scott is supposed to be a douchebag.

I got nothing against the guy, I don't know him enough to judge him personally.

Because his characters are exactly the same in every movie. No variation whatsoever.

And who's fault is this? It's the fault of the casting and directing. And when he plays said character in a movie, he does it excellently.

Partly his fault to; if he wants to be respected as a good actor he needs to step out of his comfort zone. Play something other than the same character he's played for the last... every movie he's been in pretty much.

I'm quite fond of him, seeing he's still woung he might do something of his career.

But he'll probably be forgotten in ten years.
