Microsoft Adds a Price Tag to Left 4 Dead's DLC

Of course people will still download it. Because we want to play it. There's also people like me who don't care if its $7... are you really that strapped for cash? If it's worth it, buy it.. if not, don't. It's that simple. It should come as no surprise to everyone that Microsoft is just treating it like every other marketable asset. Put it in good light for once - at least they didn't charge for the 360's survival pack.

EDIT: As someone has mentioned earlier... It costs Microsoft money to put it up for download on their servers, where people are going to be downloading it constantly. They're just covering their ass for upkeep and making a little extra in the process.

And that platform argument is a weak excuse for microsoft to charge. I already gave you money when I bought your God damn console! You've got to play L4D on a PC that 90% of the time will be running Windows so why not see if you can charge for people playing with a Microsoft OS too while your at it.

$7 adds up and paying $7 shows the producer that you are willing to pay $7 in future. Microsoft has departments where they work out how much they make off dlc compared to how many customers they get and your attitude is the green light for them to try for $8 next time.

Listen, they know we're going to buy it so there is really no point in getting upset over it.

Oh noes, Microsoft has decided to do something it has every right to do! Come on, people. I know having to pay for DLC you didn't know was going to have a price at all is annoying, but it costs Microsoft money to make AND distribute the DLC. And that cold hard cash has to be made back somehow. They're running a respectable business and money invested has to be made back. It's the way these things work.

Seriously, no-one believed that argument since Wall Street. The amount it would cost them to host a server purely to download that divided by the number of people that will download it would be less than a dollar. Almost certainly WAY less.

Charging $7 a pop is just greed.
