when she tells him she already killed his partner-in-crime.
But that was more of an awesome little extra kick in the nuts more than a true mindfuck.

Oh yeah, how about the ending of the new Battlestar Galactica? I wanted to punch people in the face afterwards, it was that bad. And I'm not even a violent guy!

I didn't like the end of this season of Dexter. I couldn't believe they would do that.
Heh. That was awesome. All good little lambs must be slaughtered eventually, that's why they exist. He was better off with the insane British chick.

The classic mindfuck would be Space Odyssey, but Donnie Darko and Southland Tales are up there. The best one is The Fountain, though. By the time you realize what's actually happening, it's astounding.

NGE, without a doubt. I mean seriously, I think trying to understand it did something to my brain...

The Jacket...

Adrien Brody dies in the jacket and is reset with Keira Knightley who now is a successful (and sexy) person that works at a hospital

I love that movie...

Oh wow, I remember watching that quite a while ago. I don't know about that one, it was a good movie all around and quite trippy, but I'm not quite sure it ascended into mindfuck territory.

I can usually come to terms with most endings, video games, books, films it may take a few lofty assumptions but at least i'll get to sleep at night. The only ending a never ended up coming to an understanding with was that of the video game, Killer 7.The Ulmeyda level seemed to be just out there for no piticular reason (I think), and to this day the ending just doesn't sit right with me.

I think some of the weirdest endings i have ever seen in a movie was that of Akira.
Neo Tokyo explodes, and apparently Tetsuo dies, but a new universe is made, and Tetsuo is...GOD? ?
Or the ending of Resistance 2.
Hale gets psychic powers, blows up the flagship, and then crashes. And when they wake up, Capelli kills Hale and the moon is on fire? And then Hale was a Chimera? What's your favorite mindfuck endings?
Yeah I never really got the ending to Akira it was a really big mind@#!&...

You, sir, are a...poophead. That was quite the surprise.

Primer

actually, that entire movie is a mindfuck if you haven't taken physics.

but it's still awesome
That movie was the biggest waste of an hour and a half ever. The fact that my friends liked it and yelled at me for saying I disliked it made it even worse. I understood nothing, followed none of it, and hated all of it. It was the first time in my life that I felt truly stupid, and I will never forgive primer for doing that.

Primer on the whole made no sense to me (not being scientifically gifted in any way at all) and I can not understand that movie one bit, even with the wikipedia article. Not a clue.

Pan's Labyrinth

That film ran with an A and B plot that ran side-by-side and by the end of it ... you don't even know if half of it happened! The war was defiantly going on but all of the things the little girl did on her own could have been a huge flight of fantasy. The fantasy creatures also never seemed able to interact with anybody but the little girl and ... well ... I dunno, it was just a strange [though excellent] story with a strange [though great] ending

Oh, God. Thank you. For a second, I thought this thread had gone all the way to the fourth page without mentioning that game. Also, the Ulmeyda mission did indeed come out of left field.

The entire game goes wonky after you play Russian Roulette with the principal of the elementary school. You get a golden gun from killing a hanging man in the gymnasium. You then go the the hotel and find out that Garcian (or should I say Emir?) systematically slaughtered every persona, along with Harman and Kun Lan a long time ago. You kill a three-eyed version of Emir. You find out that the personas split from Garcian and not Harman. (I think) The credits roll. You go to the island and kill a guy (or not). You find out that the guy who's been giving you hints throughout the game is actually Kun Lan. You kill him. The credits roll. Harman and Kun Lan (who have both been murdered twice in the game) fight on the rooftops of Hong Kong. The credits roll.

I still can't figure it out, and that's what I love about it.
