And at that moment, when their chances of victory and fame were bedashed by a small hardware malfunction, the members of Triggers Down realized just how pathetic their career truly was.

I'm sorry I just can't have sympathy for an MLG team. I have a strong hate towards competitive gaming.
So playing a game online is stupid? Considering how any game that pits you against someone else is competitive, you must surely hate most online games.
OT: Well that sucks. Not much they can do. They should of let Triggers Down win, though.
Perhaps competitive is the wrong word. I guess what I am talking about is professional gaming, or something like that. Basically anything involving leagues like the MLG.

Oh, the number of times I've lost in a high ranked match in guild wars because an ally dropped, their PC crashed, the internet went down or any other random BS event.

Sporting, either IRL or digital is always fraught with problems.

Games get rained out, and etc

:(

Weird, I've had a Vista since 2007 and it has never crashed once.

Except when i tried to use my new video card without installing the correct drivers

Major League Gaming? I can't think of anything more boring to watch.

Besides, I thought they went bankrupt or something?
Golf (can people be quieter? I'd like to hear the grass grow)?
Curling (sweep harder!)?
Weightlifting is surprisingly boring to watch too.

I'd take it over some of the shitty traditional careers.

Their Halo events I find very fun to watch actually and MLG is doing very well financially.

Would think avid gamers like MLG would have some foresight and use some preventive maintenance(or were they worried about losing the warranty?). It's not like a freezing 360 is a rare thing. If Triggers Down didn't contest the decision for a replay, then shame on them.

isn't this a good case for dedicated servers?

still... to know that you SHOULD have advanced and would have if not for hardware failure has to hurt a little.

Yeah, last gen consoles were awesome, the only one I really ever had problems with was the Gamecube and that was only once.

and to believe, that my worst problem last gen was...well, running out of space on a memory card.

This gen, the only one that's "fuck-up free" is the Wii. And I'll bet someone here is about to show that I'm wrong about that, thus making this a generation of shoddy console design.

Wow...really? Just couldn't resist?

They should use my Xbox 360, hasn't froze on me and I've had no issues with it at all
That happens with 1 in every one thousand xbox 360 consoles

In my opinion turning gaming into a sport is silly.
I take it you haven't heard of NASCAR, then?
at least people have died in NASCAR, that makes is a sport.

its really is all fun and games until someone loses an eye, (physically, not going blind-that's for wimps.) THEN it can be a sport.

EDIT: maybe the console is fighting back at MLG and its no items, fox only, final destination -style of management?
because that would be FUCKING AWESOME

People have died while gaming.
really?

oh, wait, you mean like that kid whom got murdered while playing ride.

i don't count incidents like that because its not related to the game, its as dangerous as keeping the remote from another guy in room.
not a sport, but may end in death.

if you have a incident involving, say, a controller electrocuting a player because they got killed, and got killed IRL, THEN we could say its a sport..
