Another pony topic for the bronies, but mostly about the negative things about the show since not all of the show is flawless and present some problems that irks someone even more than others.

In other words, is there anything that is a pet peeve or an aspect about the show that you dislike or don't care about, such as characters/characterizations, episodes, parts of episodes, morals, etc.? What would you do to fix it or improve it?

To me, it would be the introductions of Princess Cadence and Shining Armor because they don't seem to have much character to them and know just little about them other than being a relative or acquainted to Twilight Sparkle. Heck, IMO, the changelings especially the Queen, were the most interesting characters introduced and presented in the finale. They should have at least hinted at it like what they did with the finale with last season with the Gala or at least, mention their names in episodes before the finale since it feels like they were forced in.

Another pet peeve would be the Cutie Mark Crusaders when they go on their 'crusading' because they becoming much of an annoyance and we already know what they are good at during The Show Stoppers and it feels like padding. I feel like hitting the three on the head just for that. Though the CMC kinda shine separately or interact with other ponies and become more developed like Sweetie Belle with Sister Hooves Special, IMO.

As for episodes, I didn't like MMMystery on the Friendship Express, because it felt rushed and would have benefited more in being a two-parter to make the mystery a bit longer and more developed. Pinkie felt a bit more annoying than usual and the parodies were amusing, but didn't do much for me. Also, you would have expected Rainbow, Fluttershy and Rarity to show more restraint from eating the cake especially when Pinkie was doing her best to guard it. Some OOC-ness right there. Not to mention Pinkie Pie going straight to attack Fluttershy after learning about her involvement with the crime, and this is the pony who didn't want to prank Fluttershy because she said she was too sensitive.

The villains tend to get the short end of the stick. Because they're villains in a show aimed at little kids, appreciably. But still.
Chrysalis is best non-pony pony, after all.

What can I say? Pinkie Pie can be a right **** sometimes. But she can also be Pinkamena, who is best Mane 6 pony.

Wait...this isnt a hate thread? Okay. I guess I can roll with this.

My biggest problem is that they have all these characters that they dont feel the need to give proper charactization to. Everyone and their mom wants Trixie of Gilda to come back in another episode, but it's just so unlikely to happen. Same goes with Celestia. We need a "Luna Eclipsed" type episode that lets us know more about her.

My only other problem is the introduction of Princess Candance. She's an alicorn, which breaks the show canon apart. Because as far as I knew, there have only been 2 alicorns in existance. And being able to raise the sun and moon meant they had godlike powers, and there was no one else like them. Then we get a third alicorn and what can she do? The power of love.

Freaking...lame.

Still doesn't help the fact that Lauren Faust who had a hand in creating her story before she left the show meant for her to be a unicorn than an alicorn. http://www.equestriadaily.com/2012/02/words-of-faust-cadance-wasnt-originally.html

Gonna have to agree on the shining armor/ cadance thing, though we have Hasbro to blame for that, not the show runners.

I really wish they would go more in depth with the various mythological creatures. It seems like they just throw one into the show and decide that's fine. Obviously griffins are a whole other race. Why do we only get to see one in the entire show?

At least we will (probably) be seeing more of Trixie in the next season. If they do that, they might go ahead and reintroduce other past characters and races. And that would make me happy :D

Other than that, really anything to do with Hasbros corporate meddling. They have actually been really good about restraining themselves, hence one of the reasons the show is so good, but the few times they have intervened, you can tell.

Oh, and also, we need MOAR LUNA!!!!

Derpy's appearances. I was amused that they put her in here and there, but I would prefer if she just remained a once in the blue moon sort of thing. To me, she represents the fandom's shadow over the show, which I really hoped would have remained outside the actual show. I don't really want the kids who enjoy the show now to grow up and wonder who was that wall-eyed pony always in the background, research it, then find out and have everything ruined.

I'd really like more details on the world, but I can't really hold that against the show or creators. A little ambiguity, and the speculation which arises from it, can be fun every once in a while. So long as people don't take it too seriously.

As already mentioned: CMC crusading, return of Trixie and Gilda (either reformed or still as pricks would be fine) and lack of Luna centric episode.
Introduction of Cadence/Shining armor was a bit off, though I don't take much of an issue with it.

Other than that: Spike.
Now don't take me wrong, I like our baby dragon as much as the next guy. What bugs me is the fact that he's destined to forever remain a child and therefore we can't expect much character development from him. Not even Peter Pan stayed a kid forever.

Of course Cadence and Shining armor and the CMC, everything I could possibly say about them has been said already.

I also wish they would take time to develop the huge cast they already have as opposed to throwing in MORE characters.
I would especially like to see an episode featuring more of Celestia's background, she's been ruler a long long time.

Derpy Hooves ticks me off the most. It was good when we saw her only every so often. To me it just shows how much the fandom can interfere with the show. I do not like all the fuss over the background ponies either. It is nice to have more fleshed out characters. I suppose my main gripe is just how much the fans affect the show.

The return of Trixie and Gilda. It's not needed. They had their episode. It's done with. Nothing could possibly be achieved by bringing them back other than the same as the episode they were in.

As for the CMC, their episodes when they are crusading does feel like padding. We know what they can do, we know their special talent. I like the episodes when they are interacting with others separately though.

I don't like either of Derpy's voices. They just seem wrong somehow.

And Rarity needs to hurry up with Spike, jeez, he's a baby, he's not going to be able to wait forever, honey.

The pandering to "bronies."

Was better when it was aimed to be watch-able by parents. Season 2 was a let down in quality.
Discord eps where the last time the show really was outstanding.

I don't know... There isn't really anything about it that I really don't like. Just specific episodes that get in the way and don't sit right...

Like: Secret of my Excess... It just didn't fit with the rest of everything, I mean, not only that, but it didn't really make much sense to begin with... although upon reflection, it's more of a metaphor anyway, so... ONWARDS to the second complaint...

Again, as many have said, the S2 finale with cadence and shining... no intro, just "hey, you have a brother" eh, I'm sure the writers got enough questionable letters/e-mails about that... I hope...

And finally... Purely because I don't understand her at all... Pinkie...
Seriously, what the hell is wrong with her? This probably has something to do with me seeing Twilight as best pony (of mane 6) but, in all seriousness, I don't get pinkie at all... *sigh*

On a completely unrelated note, I wouldn't mind seeing an episode into some of the more popular side-ponies... Things from the more visible ones like Cheerilee/Derpy (or what her rename was) to the more sidelined wonderbolts/vinyl scratch/Lyra etc...etc...

I know it doesn't sound practical, but... eh, a fan can dream...

My only peeve is on how the fucking Elements of Harmony decide to punish the villains. With Luna/NightmareMoon, they purified her. Or something to that effect. With Discord, just straight up turns him to stone for eternity. Twice. And he's hinted that he was conscious the entire time.

Why? Why did Nightmare Moon, who wanted to bring eternal fucking night by getting rid of the sun, get purified. But Discord, the spirit of disharmony and chaos, who just wanted to have fun using his god-like powers, get turned to stone? Why not purify him? Is it because Luna still maybe had some good in her? Then why not just get rid of Discord's power?...

Meh, I'm gonna have to invoke either the 'Good is Not Nice', or the 'Light is Not Good' trope.

I just wish there was more sexual tension between the bronies, only then could I watch the show. For now it's simply too dull and flat for me

Mine would be the second season finale climax. I cannot be the only one that noticed this gaping hole.

Feeding off Shining Armor's love for Cadence gave Chrysalis the strength to go head-on against Celestia and win. She then turns around and dismisses Cadence's love for Shining Armor as "useless sentiment". She should have realized the threat as soon as Cadence offered her love to help Shining Armor cast his spell.

Chrysalis should have acted to stop Cadence and Shining Armor working together, providing a tense final struggle. It would have been infinitely more satisfying.

I get the feeling the crew wrote themselves into a corner and had to use good ol' villain arrogance as a way out. Disappointing, really.

Though I was rather pleased that it wasn't the Mane 6 and the Elements of Harmony that saved the day that time. That was a good twist, I thought.

Personally, I'd like to see more insights into side characters, like Candace and Shining Armor, maybe we could get more about them...

I'd like to see more male ponies, I mean when I was little all my friends weren't girls. It seems a bit weird that they are so lacking.

Maybe even one central male character would help.
