Look, bud, Starcraft and Warcraft aren't heavily based on Warhammer, they ARE Warhammer. Mind you with much less sense and history behind it, but you can name almost anything in those universes and I can show you how blatantly ripped off from Warhammer they are.
First of all, I'm well aware, secondly, I think you're under-informed. Starcraft 'ripped' off of numerous sources, most obviously warhammer, but also Aliens, star trek, star wars, you name it. Starcraft is like a big collection of easter eggs and homeages and beyond the obvious Tyranid/Zergling stint, Warhammer doesn't own the concept of running around with a lot of little men with guns in powersuits with robots and tanks. Ruddy fanboys are the only reason there is a rift between Starcraft and Warhammer. I guarantee you there is someone on the Blizzard team that absolutely loves Warhammer so there's really no reason to direct a fight toward me "bud". I simply like Starcraft more than I like Warhammer, and I dont care if Warhammer "did it first." The East made fireworks and paper, The West made the nuclear bomb and computers. Being first doesn't mean being best, again not that Starcraft is better, I just prefer it more.

I dont much care for most of what they're doing with Starcraft 3. Bulbous egg zerg that puke parasites instead of predatorial raptors, that spew flesh eating spores, bulky high-on-themselves dark protoss instead of the stealthy crafty 'we are no better than anyone else' dark protoss. What protoss would start ripping zerglings apart as use for armor? That's not the protoss mindset I had come to understand at all. And while I realize that proportions need to be distorted somewhat for recognizeability, they're putting in way to much. Then when they scale up the charaacters for an MMO they leave the distortions in? What the hell is that? If Blizzard's going to make an MMO I'd be willing to play they should at least be aware of their own design mechanics and game history and look at what the fanbase fell in love with, not slide into a natural progression of cartoony bullshit. Fighting a war with the unrelenting bloodthirsty horde is great and all but the minute you decide your game needs an 8 foot tall cow complete with stereotypical nose rings and cowbells then you give him a rediculous emote for doing the moo----nwalk and you're going to kill the mood of the game. There's too much about MMOs I dont like. Pointless grinding, useless emotes, repetative quests. Go to point A, get quest, go to point B, do quest, go back to point A for reward, repeat, and the rewards are always general experience or gold. Woopdie-friggen-do because It's not like I just made more money killing the 50 dragons you asked me too and selling the loot I picked up along the way..
I'd like a Starcraft MMO if they took it seriously and didn't re-use genre specific cliche's and game mechanics. Make me feel needed in the world and not just another plebe grinding zerglings.
