what are some MMORPGs you would like to see?

i would personally like to see a Harry Potter MMORPG. i think it would be cool to make your own spells, and build a character from a young age into either a Death Eater (a baddie) or an Auror (a good'n).

so, that's my two cents. what are some MMORPGs you would be interested in playing?

Someone's impatient... didn't they just announce this a few months ago?

Anyways, even though I've pretty much grown out of Pokemon I agree with Heppenfeph. Pokemon seems like it was almost designed for MMOs.

I also like Darkside's idea, though it'd be hard to find enough players that would be willing do play under the direct order of another player who's the captain. It works with guilds because it isn't a constant hand ordering you around... with that, it'd take constant rule to be able to run a ship correctly.

I don't know everything in existence seems to be in the works for an MMO. Starwars, LOTR, Marvel Superhero, heck even a star trek one is in the works.

As for what I want, I don't know. Maybe one where you and all your friends play god and torture the citizens of a world you and other people. None of that leveling up and epic gear BS. Just you your friends and the power to make fire rain from the heavens at your word.

meh... i like fullmetalangel's idea so i have 1 suggestion for classes:
-there are none, you can wield any weapon as long as you are a high enough level.

I never really played StarCraft, so i dont exactly have another suggestion.

I'd like to see a Warhammer 40 000 MMO, with a control scheme like Gears of War and the ability to control whole planets. Give them wargear that must be unlocked through some sort of global achievement, but must be personally unlocked in each theater to keep it balanced a bit. And for the love of god, please more than 2 teams.

WELL bioware already is doing a new Star Wars MMO so I'm good there.

Another one is that I really would like to see an MMO like EVE online yet you form starship crews, everyone has a position on your ship, you can have your friends launch fighters from your ship, walk around in it and stuff. Sort of like a guild ship. I see MMO's that have certain elements like that but they always fall short.
From what I know Star Trek online will be similar to this.

I would like an mmo where it would be so when you get quests they would be from higher ranking players in enormous factions always fighting each other. As you play more you can gain rankings and command forces (of player characters). For winning battles money could be gotten which could be spent on things like siege equipment and such. This is an idea I have had for a while so don't steal it.

I'm a die-hard KOTOR fan, so I'm a bit impatient for games like these.

A Final Fantasy- Oh wait.

A Star Fox MMO would be rather neat. Design your own character and ship. Join a team, get a command ship, and do missions across the galaxy, perhaps having the option of both ground and air travel. Have the controls set up in a sort of flight sim fashion, perhaps even allowing for joystick compatibility.

Character-wise, there would probably be the most common races available (Dogs, cats, foxes, wolves, birds, throw in humans for the hell of it), but on top of that you would have a homeworld or territory alignment (Cornerian, Katinan, Saurian, etc.). I would also stick Cerenians in there, though the backstory on them would need to be expanded (seeing as they only get a brief mention in the Adventures manual). PvP wouldn't be depending on faction, and would pretty much be free-for-all so long as your target is flagged. It's a rough world of mercenaries, after all.

While there wouldn't be any classes, you could pick a focus in either ground or air-based combat (giving you a bonus to one set of skills and a penalty to the other), or a mix between the two (with no bonus or penalty to skills). There would be a renown system (pretty much a level system) that would allow you to add on to your abilities with each rank or so. There would probably be sub-jobs as well (mining, hunting, delivery, ruin exploration).

Fighter ships would probably abide by a set of three tiers: Fast, balanced, and heavy, with specific parts for each variety (much like Phantom Crash, if anyone's ever played that). There might also be specific manufacturers, each with their own company-specific and unique weapon.

Buying things would depend on renown, money, and ship class (ie. An average player with a decent amount of money and a fast fighter couldn't buy an elite expensive uber-cannon designed for heavy ships.). The same would apply to guns for ground missions.

In theory it would be great, sort of a combination of EVE Online (only more eventful) and a Sci-fi themed ground MMO. Of course, the production team would undoubtedly do something to make it go tits up, though.

And you know there would be furries there. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.

My hand is up for two games.

A zombie apocolypse game as previously suggested. And a Starcraft shooter that didn't fan-wank all over itself. I'm not really keen on a flippy-judo-tastic super glowy awesome-because-everyone-says-so Ghost game featuring the noisiest most unstealthy special agent of all time weilding super-mystical-fantastic-spirital psi power. It's like if you put X-MEN's The Juggernaut in a wrestling game. Yeah, he's gonna win. Not a lot of questionable victory here. I also like how Metzen is abandoning a lot of his grittier dystopian works for shiney glowy ...crap. If there was one game that DESERVED dog-shit brown and gun-metal gray. Come on!

I want me a gritty psychological thriller that just so happens to have you walking around in an 8 foot tall cybernetically enhanced powersuit and a gauss gun. let's look at the games that Starcraft came from and base a game off of how THOSE bits of media felt.

Imagine you're a lone marine, no one special, no one important, no one to be missed, trapped in a science vessel somewhere in deep space loaded with captured and tortured zerg...

Something like a Harvest Moon MMO might be nice, although i honestly can't think of how it could be made nice to begin with. Mostly because MMOs are all about grinding and rubbing your strength in other peoples' faces, and i can only think how that would infuriate and discourage me in a Harvest Moon game.

Delivered.

Mind you the game development was put on hold on Oct. 19th of last year, but it is returning eventually. I believe the news is still there if you wish to read it yourself.

I mean Space Oh-my-crap-even-the-little-zerglings-can-open-me-up-like-a-sardine-can-I-wish-to-God-I-had-more-ammo-Hulk.

Has everyone forgotten that a marine's expected lifespan on the battlefield is 9 seconds? Now there is a challenge. He wouldn't be some insane ninja superhero who pumps steroids into his eyesockets...unless he hit the Stim..

Edit: Quick google. Yes like space-hulk, only with less survivability. Starcraft practically IS warhammer, with a little less rediculous proportions. Sorry bout that, not big on boardgames.
