mw2 is a bad game that makes money off of being a hype machine

I quite like MW2. The only thing that is wrong with this is that about 70% of people who own the game are not 18. This is usually not a problem but then they then clearly show this on xbox live by singing/screaming/thinking they are tough by swearing. This is why I stopped playing, kids thinking that they are better gamers than people who has been doing it for about 15 years.

I totally agree. I enjoyed it to the full, in my opinion it got entirely what it deserved.
It's very high quality*, and yes, it did ride on the success of it's sequel, but that's no reason to flame it, good job on making a good first game that generates that much hype in the first place! Money-making wise, it did everything right and deserves it's top selling spot in my opinion. People wanted it. Bad. They gave it to them, in shitloads. Money was made. People always have flamed the most successful thing, this was just next in line.
It'll be Halo: Reach and Black Ops next, I bet any money.

*Ok, you can't deny this. Yahtzee himself admits it, and he's right. You shoot at things, and those things can generally be trusted to die. Mechanically, it's flawless. Exploits exist, sure, but find me a glitch in MW2. And I don't mean the small gramatical errors like calling the SPAS-12 with silencer accidently "SPAS-12 Silencer" as opposed to "SPAS-12 Silenced", I mean big ol' fat glitches.

I apologize if I offended any of the people who hate something popular, I enjoyed this game and I don't think it deserves the hate it gets.

There was major CoD4 hate once upon a time. Now it's a benchmark classic masterpiece. I'm not saying the sequel will be too, but the hate will shift to the next big thing, always does. Not all of it, as I say, but at the very least some.

I just lost respect for my nations' gaming population -_- At least the mindless FPSers anyways... I've never had much love for Call of Duty, Modern Warfare or not. Yes it is partly due to the stigma surrounding the online portion (and with my lack of interest in the so called 'campaign', makes this game redundant to me).

In all seriousness, it's getting just as stupid to cry 'herp you hate it cuz it's cool derp' as it is to actually hate it because it makes you cool (which it obviously does).

No dedicated servers, that sounds like a serious glitch to me.
