I was actually quite satisfied with the selection of weapons in the game. Though I'll shit green nickles with joy when they stop putting in the Desert Eagle .50... Just because rappers talk them up doesn't mean they are good. At least they aren't gold plated, hand held sniper rifles this time around. I was quite happy to see the Styre AUG HBAR show up. Good for them.

I think that they easily could have fit enough guns in the game so that every time you level'd you get something new. There are easily enough guns in use throughout the worlds militaries to accommodate for this, really the only problem i see is if there was some sort of issue with programming (which frankly i can't imagine, but i could be wrong)

Would be good if they doubled the amount of guns.

Such a limited selection atm.

Paintball gun. It can't kill but it hurts like fuck, and if the victim is shot in the face, it reduces their ability to see temporarily.

Brass knuckles, just 'cause. It gives you the speed of an old care package marker, but takes two hits to kill.

It would be really fun even though you'd die tons and never get a kill.

Oh, wait, firearms? Um... Nothing really, just make the USP and M9 better.

The XM29 OICW.

Computer-assisted scope, can fire either grenades or bullets, and overall kicks major ass.

Too bad it would be labeld as "n00bish."

Why not replace the Thumper with the M32? I mean, the Thumper has been out of commission for a while now, and the M32 just looks so much cooler.

(Obviously for balance reasons, but still)

A fully automatic FAL

A crossbow. A fucking crossbow. It would have a slightly straighter tragectory than the noobtube, be a one hit kill, and totally silent. You don't even get the dead teamate symbol onscreen. This would be a secondary weapon, and you'd carry five bolts. Reload would be around two seconds (almost three). Enemies would clutch the wound and fall to the ground, it would stay in the wound. If it struck through a wall it could hold them up, if it hit someone who was near a wall, it could impale them to it.

Attachments would be an ACOG sight, an explosive tip (smaller blast radius than grenade launcher). And a grappling hook.

If you melee attacked with it equipped, you would stab your opponent with the loaded bolt. Only if you weren't reloading/still had ammo, naturally.
They had a fucking 1887 rifle so that doesn't sound implausible :p

Being British when I heard that the SA80 was being set for use in OM I was genuinely pleased. but upon seeing that the SA80 had been mistaken for the L85 Light Support Weapon I was more than a little disappointed. now we still had the TAR 21 to work with when it came to Bullpup Assault Rifles, but I still feel a little hard done by that a genuinely British assault rifle wasn't included while basically Americas whole load out was included.
SA80 refers to the whole set of weapons (L85, L86, L22 & L98). You're thinking of the L85 (AKA SA80 Individual Weapon). The weapon ingame is the L86 LSW (with fictional drum magazine).

Anyway... AK-74/AK-74S/AK-74M, RPK-74 & PKM (you know, something acutally current issue with the Russian military rather than having them run around with Israeli rifles which still havent been fully rolled out in Israel or LMGs that went out of service 50 years ago).

Everything from CoD 4 ('cept the AKS-74U, that needed to be remodelled so it wasn't designed after a fictional airsoft gun...)

Full size Uzi, Sterling, Galil ARM/SAR/R4/R5, H&K G11...

Some of the suggestions in this thread were horrible.
MW2's selection employed weapons that were considered striking, modern or well known.
They picked weapons carefully so a family of similar weapons could be represented by one variation.
They had to retire many guns from CoD 4 probably due to the difficulty involved in realistic gameplay balance.

Give me the standard MP5, MP5K just aint the same, I'd REALLY like the MP5SD. I also miss my M-14 and my L85.
