Modern warfare 2: "Gaz" and "Ghost"

On the official IW forums there has been some speculation about a new character called ghost in modern warfare 2, and is played by the same actor as gaz, who is still in the game (according to imdb)

What do escapists think of this? I personally think at the start there will be a quick introduction to modern warfare 1 and what happened, then ghost will be a new character.

In Xbox magazine they said they're is some speculation that captain Price is going to be in the next game.

Captain Price is a recurring character in CoD despite decades between settings. So it's no surprise that he'd be there. Gaz can't possibly be back, so possibly a flashback mission?

I thought the black guy was Vasquez.

Could be Gaz in his youth, his evil twin brother, a homage, a tongue in cheek swipe at how Americans can't tell the difference in accents with Britons?

Maybe he's just that damn tough. Or maybe ghost is an actual ghost. Bit of a break with the realistic setting I know, but ghost SAS people? HELL YES.

Thats the curse of being the "black partner", like that guy in star wars. He was probably just 2 days from retirement and bought a yacht called the 'Live 4 ever" as well

infinity ward actually said Price survived. altho i agree, i doesnt look like it.

OT: no one can replace gaz, not even the same actor as before, because he doesnt have the cap, the same gun and the balls to swear at the command.

fuck ghost, gaz is badass enough to survive that bullet.

I thought the black guy was Vasquez.

Vasquez was the guy you played in the Marine missions, IIRC.

I think they might bring Price back, even if just for a cameo, just because of the fan's reactions to his "death." I wonder if they left his fate intentionally vague in CoD4 to see if people wanted him back in the next one or not.
