I believe you played as "Jackson". The "Black Guy's" name is Griggs.

At the end of COD4 you get a photo with Sgt. Vasquez, Gaz, that black guy and Capt. Price in it. All the characters in the photo are dead. Sorry.

Captain Price is a recurring character in CoD despite decades between settings. So it's no surprise that he'd be there. Gaz can't possibly be back, so possibly a flashback mission?

I thought the black guy was Vasquez.

I think they might bring Price back, even if just for a cameo, just because of the fan's reactions to his "death." I wonder if they left his fate intentionally vague in CoD4 to see if people wanted him back in the next one or not.

Vasquez was the lieutenant that ordered you around. You were Paul Jackson. And Vasquez is a Spanish or Latino name, so I don't see how it could be confused with Griggs.

Perhaps Gaz has become like robocop with a partially cybernetic skull and he is a "ghost" of his former personality and self. Okay I admit it, I've never owned any Call of Duty game but I've played COD4 so I can at least guess.

OT: Even though it pains me to say it I think Gaz is dead. Even if they have the same voice actor he won't be as awesome. I want to know what happened to Captain McMillan. Was he permanantly crippled? Did he go on to serve in the SAS after Chernobyl? Find out in: Call Of Duty: The McMillan Chronicles!

Gaz was Shot in the face, dosent mean hes dead. He couldv been in a coma, and thats why he wasnt moving at the end of cod4. People have been shot in the face and survived (eg 50 cent) the reason he wears the ghost balaclava is probably to hide the scars and or disfigurement from the bullet and reconstructive surgery.

I reckon, realistically, Gaz is dead and they called the new character "Ghost" as a reference to the fact that the voice actor's previous character is dead.

Although if it does turn out to be Gaz I will be pleased nonetheless! I strongly doubt it though.
