It's still enjoyable but only with friends. Otherwise I feel like I need to pick up where the other team members fail. That means I have to drop the sniper and grab a assault rifle.

After playing it it feels too much like Cod 4 bar not so many people online use acog snipers up close(anotying when over half both teams use them)
all in all it's just too similar to make me believe i'm enjoying a new game

The charm was lost for me the second single player/spec ops were completed. The multiplayer is just so unbalanced and dumb to me. They went into this game trying to make all players on an equal level regardless of their skill - when is that ever a good idea?

I just really can't stand the multiplayer and would kill have to my friends go back to CoD4's

For me, yeah, it's lost a bit of it's charm. I think it was because I took a break from it. MW2 is like one of those rides, that once you get off, it's hard to get back on.
I mean, from it came out, I used to play it every night with a group of friends, until about two week ago, when I started obsessing over Killing Floor instead. When I tried this monday to have a good time in MW2, it jsut felt like... well... Like I'd been left behind, somehow. I couldn't do as well as I used to. Everything didn't feel as exciting as it used to.

But experience with similar feelings over COD4 tells me that I'll get back on eventually.

I find the stupidity of Kill streaks like a Mother-loving AC130?!?,I Cod4 was great due to its balance, now its a Bit like a Tory Game (bit of an British joke there) by making Good Better and Bad Worse
I find your British joke to be amusing.

I still find MW2 amusing. Multiplayer is still a hell of a lot of fun.
I Wish i was You, I Miss My Love For Warf 2, I want it Back, I think i may have killed the joy by prestiging tbh :(
Broken though it was, I found World at War to at least be slightly amusing. The I prestiged, and I hated it. Whose idea was it to replay all of it again? That's not fun, that's banal.

I also find that, if possible, split screen with three friends is a barrel of laughs.

Congratulations, now the next step is to realise how gullible you were into buying this tripe. I never tire playing most single-player games from about a decade ago. If the game really were successful those bought figures would be playing it strongly now and for another five years. That worked for Starcraft and Counter Strike.

But your getting that out of game that is so focused on its multiplayer the story seems to just be there cos it had to be
Yeah, I can see where you're coming from with that; there were parts of the SP campaign which just seemed horribly unpolished. The main reason I didn't rush out and get it straight away was because I assumed the solo missions would be a half-baked afterthought: I held out on buying it until I heard from reputable sources that it was in fact worth playing.

Eh, I've enjoyed since I got it.

I played through the campaign on Normal, and I'm currently doing a Veteran run, completing bits of levels whenever I feel at an all-time-low chill level.

I'm currently level 52(?) first prestige in multiplayer, and haven't tired of it yet. Sure the campers and Double Shotgunners are annoying, but the completionist in me just loves all the titles, emblems, and challenges to complete.

As for the spec ops, I've got 3 stars in about 60% of them, but my co-op buddy hardly ever comes on anymore so I'm pretty much at a dead end.

I kinda agree, I loved COD4 and I think about playing MW2 now and I just can't be bothered and I can't figure out why. Maybe I'm just too lazy to play it =D

Recently, after getting through my several new Christmas games, including DJ Hero which i love to bits but cant quite find the strength in my forearms to compete with another grandmaster flash mix on expert....

but as i decided to play a little MW2 i found to my disarray, The fun has gone, what was once the all round game where games could go anywhere depending on who got the first chappoer in COD4 i found MW2 has lost the edge, cant put my finger on why so i was hoping someone else who noticed this could tell me
I have to agree with both of you here.

I played it up to level 63 in the multi and now I just cannot be arsed to go any further. It's lost all the fun. Killstreaks suck ass, camping everywhere, guns are horribly unbalanced, lag, boosters, akimbo shotties, people camping for thier nukes in objective games...

COD4 was a much more pure, simple, fun experience.

Funny thing is, I do a lot better in MW2 than I ever did in COD4 (1.68 ratio as opposed to 0.98) but I had way more fun rushing around like a lunatic in COD4.

Edit:

I absolutely loved the single player though. It was sublime from start to finish.

I use to really enjoy it especially the Spec Ops.

But since I've bought Assassins Creed 2, I've stopped playing it. I use to really enjoy it especially the Spec Ops.

I'll probably return to it someday, to finish those last Spec Op missions.

Shame IW only care about the console players now and screwed over the PC CoD players with the removal of dedicated servers and replacing it with the inferior IWnet which is a total disaster.
This has made me reluctant to play it anymore. I don't think I shall purchase another CoD game in the future either.
Definitely agree with this point, the thing that bored me with the multiplayer was the lac of dedicated servers. IWnet is a bag of whotsit and always made me angry when it threw me around every game possible before deciding my ping was bad. So for the first month it was good and I would always nominate the moment when McTavish rugby tackles a guy through a window as the greatest thing ever. Sfter this it loses that zaz it held so dear when you brought it.

It lost it's charm around midnight November 10th...

I actually hate the multiplayer to some degree.

I have to disagree with "lost interest".

I have also tried to play the game recently but it feels sort of different. I really can't explain it at all. Single Player still feels the same to me.

I used to enjoy it but not anymore. The mp was just too much with all the pointless rewards for doing nothing special and the maps weren't all that special. But a few nights ago I fired up COD4 online and found it to be really fun.

It had to have charm to be able to lose it.
As a wise man once said "Can't lose something you don't have"

(I do enjoy the game still however :))

Yep, that's where I think I'll be heading back to if I ever go multiplayer again. Rushing is fun.
