but as i decided to play a little MW2 i found to my disarray, The fun has gone, what was once the all round game where games could go anywhere depending on who got the first chappoer in COD4 i found MW2 has lost the edge, cant put my finger on why so i was hoping someone else who noticed this could tell me
What's that, the honeymoon's over already? That didn't take long... I wonder how long it will be before more people are playing MW1 then MW2...

MW2 HAD CHARM!?
im shocked too...
Agreed. I've played the co op and it was ok. what I've seen of the single player is also just ok and the multiplayer looked average. I never really liked online shooters anyway so It's not a big loss.

I finished the campaign, did a couple of the Spec Ops, and then lent it to my Dad.

I'm not even going to touch the online.
Best decision you ever made. It was fun for about 5 minutes and then i was called a noob.I am only going to play to level 70 and then stop.

Well you, to me it loses a lot of charm due to the lag, but aside of that, I still enjoy the occasional match. Not as much as I enjoy TF2, specially that game the other day were I managed to single handedly (since my team was doing fuck all and losing stupidly before I joined) take on the enemy team several times until I managed to revert the score from 2-0 to 3-2 in our favour, scoring over 250 points and kicking so much ass my ass eventually got kicked...
God, people just take unkindly to losing.

possibly tied to the increasing presence of obvious aimbots over the last two-ish weeks?

that's been the case for PC

Lol, I think the escapist has a new everyone-hates-on-this-game. Modern Warefare 2 is the new Halo.

But modern warfare 2 actually deserves this title, because its not the fanboya ruining the game, its the game itself.

No dedicated servers? F.U.C.K Y.O.U!
I find that its the little things that can make you lose interest in a game. In MW2 multiplayer it has all the annoyances of COD4 multiplayer (which aren't a big deal, its mostly noobtubes and choppers) and more, like all the auto-aiming bots in the sky, all the hackers and the unregulated nature of MW2 online.

Honestly its not fanboys ruining the game, its really is the game itself. I mean even if I wasnt a butthurt PC gamer, I'd still have issues with the multiplayer.

I've been playing Counterstrike for literally years. Even back when it was 1.3. Of course I leave it at times, but I always find I can go back and enjoy myself in that game. The same just isn't true of some of the other greats like Quake 3, Unreal, Tribes II and the CoD games.

There's something to be said for losing interest.

The most important point of MW2/Cod4 is that it holds your interest not by its gameplay, but by the level system.

MW2 isn't as good as it's hyped up to be. It's living on the hype built up from the original MW.

Just accept MW2 is simply a good game, not an awesome game.

I'm gonna go play something better now.

They added a bit too much crap to the game that wasn't balanced. AC-130 gunships and helicopter gunners are not balanced. The original modern warfare at least had the potential for balance, but the new one just adds too many variables with the array of weapons and crap you can throw around.

I've certainly grown tired of it. Single player is a joke, I can only play SpecOps with my friends over Steam (all of whom got MW2 for Xbox), and multiplayer isn't fun at all what with every single lobby I'm dumped into guarenteed to have at least 2 of each catagory: aimbotters, 8-year-olds, and racists, and the larger, more complicated maps only underline it's sheer emptyness because of the IWNet 9v9 player restriction as opposed to CoD4's massive 64-player TDM balls-to-the-wall brawlfests.

It's just...boring.

Yes, well. If we could deter from the usual responses.

I;m quite surprised at CoD:MW2. I judged it too early, played it, liked it, threw it out the window before getting it's remains taping it together and killing time with it. It hasn't lost it's charm at-bloody-all. I can see people say they've lost interest but for gods sake they're going to be playing it half an hour after posting.

I can't take people seriously when they say that a game has no charm when it has the popularity to rival Christianity. Its quite sad really.
Can people please do me a favour. I could have bought this game (or rather the first one) for only £2 at a Granger Games sale in my town for my computer but i wasn't sure if anyone liked it or thought it was good enough and especially not for computer. I did post a thread but got no response and I gave up. Now the game has been sold... Please can we do these posts (yes you wabbit included though u have a valid excuse) when i actually need help picking games! Then maybe i can join in these threads to see if it was boring or not. Now im wondering if i have missed out on a game i might have loved.

If your wondering how i come to the conclusion that i would have liked it when everone is basically saying its crap, I usually like games that everyone else hates or are tired of. Thats the way its always been. Take for example Delta Force 1 and 2. Bet not that many if any at all now-a-days, play these games but i still love them and still enjoy playing on them. This then makes me think that CoD series would be more challenging for me and more enjoyable.
