I was quite surprised to see so many hackers in MW2. That also creates some colourful rage comments. ...and when i use Riot shield + throwing knife.. they dont like that either for some reason. >:)
Yeah I used riot shield a couple of times to amuse myself during some of the crappier maps. I've never recieved more hate than I did in those games, both over the microphone and through XBL messages. None of the hate explained why the riot sheild was so bad, just that I was any number of profanities for using it.

Wow that was just spot on. I'll confess that I have tried to revenge rush several campers and snipers. Overall this just shows how MW 2 is one of the most evil games in the world, and DID NOT DESERVE TO BE A HUGE SELLER.

At least CoD4 was fun.

The multiplayer is fine when you are in the same room as some friends. Mainly because you can stop the unbalanced weapons with real fists. Also some of the perks that are unfair are equalizers with 3 or 4 people per team.

Yep, it's a game which turns otherwise reasonable people into raging, squeaky-voiced assholes, and I know because it happened to my brother, who now spends literally all of his gaming time playing MW2 and its turned him into a complete wanker.

Well I was an avid Gears player before Modern Warfare 2 came out and comparatively MW2 makes me much less angry.
Number 1 annoys me occasionally but I don't mind I just switch to either a class with cold blooded or take out the Chopper and move in with the game, usually meaning I get 1 maybe 2 deaths from air support maximum.
Again from my Gears experience camping has never really gotten to me, after playing game after game of entire 5 man teams hiding in a bunker with grenades planted on doors and shotguns around the corner one guy with a noobtube won't bother me, I can just sneak up on him and lob one right back.
Talk to any Gears player about number 3. They will laugh in your face and tell you that you have no idea what host advantage is. This has actually been tested against an enemy standing still, the host of the game has a much more powerful shotgun than everyone else and as the luxury of 1-shotting somebody with hit at ~20% more range; and even they don't get a 1 shot kill, they get more damage than the non-host. SO if you end up 1 on 1 against the host, you're doomed.
As for number 4, 1 hit anywhere on the body with a torque bow = death. Boomshot, you shoot near somebody, they're dead.

Yeah you Call of Duty players have got it easy.

I don't recognize myself in this. I get annoyed at times, but I never rage, because I figure that I'm not skilled enough to do better than I do. But the melee distance of commando is rather ridiculous. And akimbo rangers or 1887's are quite ridiculous as well. I saw a killcam of a guy killing another guy (winning kill) by firing his akimbo rangers 3 meters to the right of the target, at point blank range. Apparently the heat of the muzzle flash or something is lethal, because no shotgun with any barrel to speak of has such an insane spread.

The conclusion was so brutally well-executed. One that hits me, as well as many others, so close to home that it's uncomfortable.
We've all done it... Guilty! (raises hand)

I play MW2 all the time and never get angry, but that might have something to do with not sucking, oh and before you say something about cheetos and basements I'm a lifeguard and spend more around women than you, unless you are a woman than you got me beat.

So true. I have actually done this, in that order.

Although you forgot mythering parents on that list too.
Pro-5nipez665 lives in apartment with three of his WOW buddies, no parents to bother them!
Wonder what they're thinking when they hear the angry debacle coming from whatever room the OP's protagonist is in.

"FUCK YOU FUCKING FUCK FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"
"Dude, calm the fuck down, I'm in a raid and the guild can hear you screaming all the way from the lounge over Vent!"

It's a strange world when people hate you for trying to encourage team work! At least in Left 4 Dead, if you take care of people you get added to a friends list. Awwww :)

I stopped playing MW2 because people take things too seriously like poor pro-5nipe.

I liked playing some matches with my buds on MW2, but all of this is true. MW2 is more about luck and less about skill, your kill streaks are easily fucked up by campers and overpowered weapons or perks.

That was a very odd post.

Does spending enough time with women concern you a lot?

I played MW2 multilayer for a while, and although I sucked real bad at it I never really got angry, i guess i'm fairly chilled out and i never expected to do good.

However i stopped playing because i get bored with multiplayer due to lack of story, and i've started replaying games i actually like.

Wow, I have this same disease. The rage gives me an adrenaline rush, which I then mistake for fun. It's freaky bro.

I've just started playing in the free weekend that's going on at the moment, and after playing a load of TF2 with a regular group and then going into this I was immensely pissed off with the lack of teamwork, and for about an hour I fucking hated it.

Then went back and decided not to bother actually helping people or providing cover or even going for the objectives and it became fun, until the rest of the problems showed up.

Hoping a few of the regular Escapists I play with will finish downloading soon so I can get at least some people on my team who I know try to help each other.

I highly agree with your post though, I won't be buying MW2, and it'll be the first CoD I haven't.

I suppose you should add(if your a 360 owner) the annoying messages for 10th prestige hacks or the boosting invites, and the lack of party chat for all game types.

And this is why I don't play MW2 anymore.

Literally, the things you described are pretty much the exact reasons I don't play MW2 anymore.

I'd play with you, but since it uses peer-to-peer instead of dedicated servers, someone's going to lag like all hell, and it wouldn't be fun :(
