I like HUD. One of the biggest advantages of video games to real life is being able to see stuff like health represented by an abstract bar or numbers... I don't like my own body signals, I want real life to have an optional HUD so i could see my health...

People should be trying to make real life more like video games not the other way around!

0_0. Umm, I really wish the Nostalgia Critic were here to do his "bad touch" gag.

In B4 the "zomgz wtfbbq Fable 3 isn't an RPG because it doesnt have exp!!!111!1111" crowd. As soon as they're down trolling the Bioware forums, because of Mass Effect 2, I'm sure they will end up doomsaying Fable 3.

OT: The changes sounds interesting. I'll hold any judgement until I actually see them though.

I would say that, if he can successfully convey the right messages without a HUD, more power to him.

Instead of orbs, a character's followers will decide his level of stature in the game.
So, very much in the style of Black & White then? I don't mind per se but B&W1 was vastly superior to #2.
I agree, I still play Black and White 1 to this day

Goodness I hope you're not serious.

Sounds like they're changing fable into a story driven adventure game rather than a P&P based RPG, which is A-Okay with me. Maybe the re-classification will cut down on some of the mindless vitriol.

Jesus Tom, couldn't find the larger picture of Molyneux? My psychologist will have you to thank for my nightmares.
Anyway, jesting aside, I myself wouldn't mind seeing less junk on my screen when playing an rpg. Or having to take my eyes off the action so to tell if I need that healing potion or not. I've lost a couple good battles in WoW from that.(Yes, I'm stingy with my pots. They aren't that easy to come by for me. :p )
I guess animal sacrifice wasn't enough, now we can either be kind or cruel to children. I think that's the part that leaves an ill taste in my mouth.

Did you play fable 2?

No mana, you couldn't die, ever, no armor.
What is the point of a game if there is no challenge?

You can go through the entire game with the stuff you start out with.

Well now, time to go on completely ignoring Peter and just wait until the game is released. Seriously, his whole "It's like reality!" thing is really annoying. I'm looking for you to make games Mr. Molyneux, not a reality simulator. If I wanted real life I'd just go outside.

Last week, Microsoft Games Studio big-shot Peter Molyneux made a statement that Fable 3 would probably make gamers "super pissed off" [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/98115-Molyneux-Fable-3-Will-Upset-Some-People].
Who the fuck says that without immediately following it with "So that's why we're reinventing the whole thing.". I guess he just doesn't care how much of an attention dependent child he makes himself out to be anymore.

Fox news will be all over this. "OMG CHILD CRUELTY! PROTECT THE CHILDREN!"
Yeah, I thought the same thing. Well, looks like it's safe to assume at this point that Australia sure as hell won't be getting Fable 3! :)

Child makes fun of old lady who falls over.
You punish said child with light flick on the ear.
Michael Atkinson: "OH MY GOD, IT'S A CHILD TORTURE SIMULATOR! QUICK! BURN IT! BURN IT WITH FIRE! PROTECT TEH KIDDIES!!
A little off topic I know, but can you explain to me (and everyone else) how Australia works exactly when it comes to banning/allowing games? The rules seem pretty dictatorial for a democracy. Thanks.

Story driven in what way would that be?

All the Fable games have pretty litesauce with the story compared to ALMOST ANY OTHER GAME EVER. What is the story to Fable 1 and 2...

You are screwed over at a very young age you train to become a great hero and then you fight the main villain/get married/fart in front of people. THE END.

This isn't like Hard Rain where the entire game is hanging on to a tightly woven story, if that is the case then the Fable series might as well be hanging on by a pubic hair.

No these games aren't even a little bit about story, they are basically a LARP sim that has gotten completely out of hand. I honestly liked Fable 1, I accepted it's faults because god it felt like they tried and just couldn't get it right the first time. Fable 2 is possibly the worst game ever created...It's about 5 hours of content, with horrendous loading screens, almost no story (the Spire is not a cinematic moment it is a series of quick time events), and the gameplay was so easy a dog could play.

Honestly I like the setting, the whole grimm fairytale style is really nice, but Fable 2 just wasn't a finished product, and it'll take a lot to get me to buy Fable 3...and I'm not talking about reviews because god forbid, Fable 2 got GOOD reviews from a lot of people. It's like everyone was paid off or something >.>

I mean its fine, none of this makes me angry or happy either way. But as always Peter's choice of words makes me ponder his sanity...and IQ

WHAT!

No more RPG red health potions? *pouts*

You know... I mean I know it's new and fancy and all... *sniff* I just like it when *sniff* some things are the same *tears up* I wanna be alone

*runs off to cry the the duck under a table and health comes back system*

BUT! I really do like the getting rid of the orbs thing. Really. I was expect the only way to really know your 'level' is to ask the people around you and say how much you have matured and grown through the years and the journey set before you in the quest. Not just killing a thousand rats and bats and roaches and now you have grown to god like means.

I'm not going to judge a game harshly just because they're trying something new. I'll reserve judgment until I try it firsthand.

That said, this man is probably the most least trustworthy developer alive but you can't blame him for shooting for the stars.
