Hey! Listen! Those words are forever scarred into my ears...
Dead Rising 2, early in the game, before I learned of the warning signs of a boss battle, I had a party of 5 survivors. Then I went to do "Chuck the role model." 5 minutes later: FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU... Even going through again, that boss is annoying.
MGS1, the bit after Psycho Mantis with the wolves. Once I didn't get the night vision goggles before fighting Mantis, and as far as I know, you can't go get them once you beat him. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU..
Repeated dialogue in any game. I heard you the first time!

I just got done with replaying Devil May Cry 4, and I have to say the final boss is kind of annoying. Everything works out up until he gets to the last little bit of his health, then he starts zooming around the room skewering you if you get in his way with only a fraction of a second counter attack time before he puts his shield back up.

I went on Gamefaqs to find out any alternative strategies and ended up with a guy who spent more time trying to be funny (cake is a lie/south park quoting humour) than actually helping. This is no time for jokes, damnit! The fate of my cardboard cut-out love interest and by extension the entire world is at stake! What's wrong with you?

I had a perfect no item streak going but then I was forced to have to use a holy water to open up the bosses defenses. What makes it worse is that you spend most of your time battling oversized monsters with swords instead of skin and the final boss is a breathless old man.

There was also that escort mission you do for the fighter's guild in Oblivion. You have to make sure a mage gets to a certain part in a dungeon to complete the quest, and she's overly enthusiastic about bullrushing every enemy and her negligible hit point(s) mean I have to keep wading in to save her patronising arse - and I was playing a thief.

Took me a while until I figured out I could just tell her to wait and clear the whole cave out on my own.

Oh oh oh! (I'm on a roll here) The final mission for the Carnales on Saint's Row.

Basically you have to shoot a plane down from the back of a moving car driven by the computer. This is complicated by the goons on rooftops wielding rocket launchers - they look like little more than red specks on your screen but can blow up your can in a single shot, and your AI buddy drives like Princess Diana's chauffeur, i.e into walls. All you can do is hope that the bullets from your desperately spraying AK manage to hit one of the rocket launching specks during one of your few second long windows of opportunity.

I lucked my way through this mission and never bothered replaying it.

A lot of the final boss missions on Saint's Row in general were pretty frustrating. I'm just glad that they lowered the difficulty a bit for Saint's Row 2.

One final one (I think I might have a problem) - The ending for Fallout 3. What the hell was that?

I think my blood pressure just spiked. I may need an ambulance.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: The Library from Halo 1.

No, Bungie, you are not supposed to give the Zombies shotguns. That's just cheating.

The ending of Shadow of the Colossus.

Not the ending was bad or anything, just the fact that it was over pissed me off.

That friggin' pit in the Mystic Cave Zone of Sonic 2 is a good candidate, although it primarily punishes you for unlocking Super Sonic.

For years, the bane of my existence was the part in the second act of the Carnival Zone from Sonic 3, where you are locked in a small room with a rotating cylinder that is blocking the exit. I would jump on it for hours, trying to push it down, only to have it rise back up and block the exit. The time would run out, and I would die, and half the time rage quit.

Then, recently, playing it on the Genesis Mega Collection or whatever on Xbox 360, I found out all you have to do is press up or down while standing on the cylinder, and it goes in the direction you point. No jumping, no weird timing, no real effort involved; I was simply not aware of this when I was a kid. I could have saved myself so much stress...

WE CAN'T STOP HERE, THIS IS BAT COUNTRY.

For me it's the later stages of Rome: Total War games, if your cities keep growing it usually leads to a lot of rebellions in large empires. You have to basically commit genocide in order to maintain control, because the best way to keep a city happy is by making the population growth zero.

In GoW III

At the end Athena comes in and tells you that the sword you killed Ares with in the first game, instead of being fueled by all-consuming evil, was actually powered by pussy HOPE.

The ending wasn't content to contravene established (and certifiably awesome) themes with captain planet/pokemon "power of hope/love" malarky in it's own entry into the series, it felt the need to freaking retcon it into the games that were still cool. Can't stand it.

That and the voice actor for Hercules. Sure, he used to play him on tv or w/e, but that voice wasn't right for that character design. I really hated a lot of that game. All of the parts where I wasn't killing shit.

How about the 'Atlantica' world in Kingdom Hearts 1?
The swimming controls were so jarry that I wanted to kill myself
Especially
When you fight Ursula for the second time and you have to keep swimming back and forth to dodge attacks D:

The Horizon encounter in Mass Effect 2 between Shepard and Ashley.
Let me make something clear here, I am not mad because Ashley didn't leap into Shepard's arms and bow to his feet like so many other youtube commenters seem to be, if you ask me she was perfectly justfied to be confused and upset that the love of her life returned after being gone for two years and was now working for a terrorist organization.

No sir, I'm just mad that this was all I got. I picked Ashley over Liara in Mass Effect 1 and I honestly couldn't find myself interested in any of the others at my disposal so I decided to hold out until Mass Effect 3. Suddenly I hear Liara fans are getting a DLC, and then I start to realize that DLC after DLC is getting made and everything seems to be in an effort to not acknowledge that Ashley ever existed.
It peeves me off so much, I still hold out hope for Ashley returning in Mass Effect 3 but for now I am getting quite mad at how little involvement one of my favorite characters has gotten in an otherwise terrific game.

I loved killing ross with 15 shots on my Mauser Pistol it felt kinda good, although i was pissed how hard it was to find the quest.
That whole ending made me want to bawl, and savagely beat the fed guy's wife out of indignation. But the really sad part about the ending is how you then have to continue playing... uh, spoiler, I guess...

You have to play as Jack. It's three years later, but somehow all those missions you were half done with are in the exact same place and Jack cares about them for some reason, everyone treats you the same as when you were John, and you're exactly as good at everything as your father, who was decades ahead of you and ran in a gang for a long time. It's dissonant to begin with, and Jack sounds so barely pubescent it's like nails on chalkboard after John's hoarse and world-weary, yet endearing tone.

I heard from some guy once that Jack was the same name as John and that when he died he became John Marston. But yah i was confused when i could go back to the side quests.

I'm not going to even bother to read the thread to see if I've been ninja'd, because the title already got my blood boiling.

The end of Fallout 3. The single most infuriating moment in video game history.

Damn thee Rico!, Damn thee to hell!. that final cutscene in KZ3 just ticks me off.

Gameplay wise, when a lucky shot takes out an expensive tank you purchased in Men Of War, luck generally pisses me off in that game, i calculate everything and have back ups for my back ups, but theres no accounting for sheer dumb luck.
you mean KZ2?
