FF1 trying to make my way out of a dungeon with everybody but my fighter dead. At first I didn't think it was too much of a problem--annoying, but enemies only did 2-3 points of damage to the fighter, and he devastated them. Until he got stunned.

Stab! Minus 2 hp. Stab! Minus 2 hp. Stab! Minus 2 hp. Stab! Stab! Stab! Couldn't move. I could have one-hitted any of those monsters if I could have moved. But no, it was Stab! Stabbity-stab-stab! until every last hit point was gone. I. Hate. Marsh. Cave.

Has the Psychonauts Meat Circus level been mentioned yet? That had some really awkward jumps and was annoying as hell.

MW2 and definatly the part where you have to avoid the Russian tanks on American soil. I couldn't keep my jaw shut while i watched it blow up houses. Now I know how the Russians feel...

Gears of war.
"Oh, whats that? you just sent 30 bullets soaring through my skull? funny, it seems I'm still right as rain! oops... 31? I guess I'll just collapse and wait for my buddy to pick me up, magically healing all my bullet wounds"

"Uh oh, be careful there Marcus. If you step more then an inch into those there shadows at night, you'll explode as pirana bats swoop down within half a SECOND... oops, to late. Lets go back 20 minutes to your last checkpoint now."

Just Cause 2 crashing after a lot of item collecting. IGNAAAAHHH.
Why couldn't they go the way of Saint's Row, and let you have infinite vehicles?
The chances of any vehicle I get in of ever possibly surviving more than one trip are 0, so why do they make it so I have to buy a new helicopter every dang time?!? Can't I at least get one with less hassle?

Game: Star Wars Bounty Hunter

Objective: Escape the asteroid prison.

The Moment: I been trying this level over and over again. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't survive the constant missles, turrets, prison guards, prisoners, and giant gorges you had to fly over. I just kept dieing, and dieing, and dieing. I finally had that perfect run, dodging missles and laser blasts, and made it to the last part of the level with lives to spare. SUCCESS, I thought! I battle through the last group of troops, extremely hard, and was finally done with the level.

I was so glad to see the mission complete screen that I quickly tapped the controller to move on to the next level.

But I didn't hit the X continue button, oh no, I hit the O repeat mission button.

AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

Developer: Huh...so basically the only thing that kills the player now are enemies that launch missiles at him making it impossible to move. I know! Let's put 50 of those enemies in the one area where he can't fight back and every time he dies he is forced to go back about 5 minutes so he can't just try again!

Me: ... *Returns Game*

There was this old ass game for the PSone, one of the first real 3D games called Rascal. It's my first full game ever (I exclude demo packs), and for that I have kept it for nostalgic reasons. But the GOD DAMN CONTROLS!!!! ARRGFHGGNNMTHFGNRAAAAAAH! They were so bad! And if you died you had to start at the very beginning of the level. Really the the game was awful, and I've never beaten it.

Another one, although this isn't the fault of the game:

Today I was playing L4D2's mutation Survival Versus (it's back). While I was playing as infected one round in DC-concert, we played the game like normal and it lasted around 3 minutes because they sucked. Anyway, I'll never forget the moment all of us collectively realized that they had forgotten to start the timer. It was a full four vs four, too, and they got 00:00:00 on the timer because no one started it. Needless to say like three of them ragequit. By the way, no one on my team, infected, noticed until the end either.

Hmm...for me, it was a combination of four somewhat older games; Jak and Daxter: the Precursor Legacy, Jak II (two games that are part of an awesome four-part series that NO ONE seems to remember), Kingdom Hearts and Chrono Trigger.

For the first Jak game, it was mostly the ending that had me riled. You mean to tell me that I spent all this time defeating Gol and Mia for one last lousy COLLECTION QUEST!?!? SCREW THAT! (Of course, I did it anyway, but it still pissed me off)

In Jak II it was the mission with the yellow HellCat Cruisers. That took me FOREVER to beat! And that was before there were difficulty levels! There was only one, and it kind of varied between 'cozy Sunday stroll' and 'ASSRAPE, NO LUBE'.

Kingdom Hearts mainly annoyed me because it would always ramp the difficulty to insane heights early on in the game...normally in the Deep Jungle and Wonderland levels. (I swear if I have to die with that invisible iguana one more time...)

Finally, there was Chrono Trigger. Mainly for the Lavos fight. Now, this wasn't out of constantly losing. In fact, I was so elated, relieved, excited, and yet exhausted when I beat it on the first try. No, this was mostly out of my sheer frustration of fighting three bosses at once, one of them actually being composed of all the other major bosses I have fought thus far. MAN, was that such a pain in the ass!

Oh yeah, and that final boss fight with Jack at the end of the original pre-Lost Chapters Fable, during my first run through. Those of you who remember your first playthroughs of that game know what I'm talking about. For me, that was mostly a battle of attrition...spanning three hours.

Some of the puzzles on Dante's Inferno made me get pretty mad. Mostly because the checkpoint would save me with little health and I had to face the spinning enemies. One puzzle took me an hour and a half. I nearly snapped my controller in two.

Oh, the detectors in Prototype were pretty awful. I couldn't do anymore sneaking missions because every time I would get within 1000 yards of one of them I would have the entire military on my ass. It was like having a restraining order.

EDIT:

The furking vehicle sections in Half-Life 2. They were terrible!
The buggy handled like a three legged elephant, and they added a bloody turbo function... I thought the Airboat was accurately done, though, it was just a pain to drive half the time.
Amen. This is the reason I don't like Half-life. Every time I start to enjoy myself, a vehicle section comes a long and I either get lost or become extremely frustrated. I still haven't gotten past the buggy part because I get so pissed.
