You know the kind of moment I mean. When all the blood, sweat and tears comes to fruition. It could be a puzzle, boss or even just a whole game in general (Ikaruga springs to mind here) so long as it is satisfying to you.

Personally, mine is completing Lylat Wars (Starfox 64) with all medals along the hardest route.

What moments in gaming etched their difficulty into your minds?

Fallout 3 when your storming the Enclave with Liberty Prime. That was a good time.

I think i missed the point of this thread.

It your talking about difficulty - Beating any Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, or COD 5, Veteran level. Damn grenade spamming.

Destroying Sovereign over the Citadel in Mass Effect.

Spending an epic hour decimating Roman forces with my Huns, winning with only half a dozen horsemen left in Rome: Total War.

I'll come back with more.

the airplane level on Zack and Wikis quest for barbados treasure. I was pretty happy when I finally figured it out, without cheating. I might have had a gutteral noise resembling "yes", but it could have also been acid reflux from all the soda I downed during that level.

Beating that one secret ship in Kingdom Hearts 2 that covers the screen in lazers. The prize wasn't worth it though.

Defeating the 16th Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus. It is quite possibly the greatest moment in gaming.

HL2Ep2: Getting out of that bug rush (with all of the lights) and decimating the last Strider at the end.

MGS4: Beating the Boss Extreme and getting the B.B. badge!

Resident Evil 4, when Leon was surrounded and the helicopter flew up and used the mini gun to take down everyone.

This was followed by a gaming moment that made me go NO when the helicopter was then blown up.

Mike owed me a beer too.

God, that fight and the Luna mission are SO DIFFICULT on Insanity. Luna especially if you're not an Engi/Sentinel/Infiltrator. Those Rocket Drones are just BRUTAL.

TF2, Defending the last corner of the last map on Payload. SO brutal and SO epic it was the closest any game has come to depicting the "feeling" of a real warzone (although admittedly not that realistic in any other way)

Me and my best mate, who was a medic, holed up in the corner with a full team of everything and held against the tide. Imagine 300 but TF2, and without the homosexual overtones or stop-start slowmotion.

I still get happy thinking about it

In Medieval II Total War, whilst playing with the French. One particular army, full of heavy cavalry and with a good general was send out to attract enemy attention. It got it all right. I ended my turn, and got attacked by one full army of the Milanese. I vanquished it, happy over my victory. Another one came, a warm feeling in my tummy, and I vanquished them with delight. Then, yet more sheep come for slaughter! Burn them I tell you, and so I did, burned them all to the last man! BUT, the enemy is not finished! NO, more come. BURN THEM ALL. VANQUISH THE ENEMY!!! N'AVOIR PAS DES REMORDS MES AMIS, VICTOIRE POUR LES CHEVALERESQUE!

It was beautiful.
