I was reminded of my nerdiness just 10 minutes ago when my friend posted this:
sorry but that whole message just made me laugh so much! so geeky it was shocking!
in response to this (a message I had posted on another friend's 'wall' on the dreaded FB):
Hey Dog, that was some mighty co op earlier. Don't worry about dying a bit, you just have to take it easy and fall back if your health gets low, instead of going crazy and trying to paste them all. Don't forget, I was in body form so I had more health than you anyway - plus, because I wasn't in soul form, I didn't have to wear the Cling Ring, so I had a fire resist ring on instead. In addition to all this, I have been putting points into endurance, so I take less damage :)

Well annoying that boss took me down, though.

how bad is it that i starting bobbing my head to the beat?
also i consider that an awesome ringtone.
Not bad at all, I'm guilty of doing the same. Her voice is so melodic..

Mines is either telling friends of how the internet has destroyed someone else (see: Jessi Slaughter) or correcting a nerdy reference.

(Meeting a new person)
Me: Hey, I'm x.
Them: Hey nice to meet you.
Me: Same.
Them: You know, your hair looks a lot like that dwarf's in Lord of the Rings! It's so curly and dark!
Me (under my breath): Yes it is, but that was Frodo, he is a Hobbit, and the whole fucking story revolved around him. How the fuck could you not remember the main characters name after 9 hours, or notice he wasn't a damn dwarf?

Hetalia. History and global politics have never made more sense nor been as entertaining.

Everyday I go to work (I'm a tech/sales associate at Staples) I'm the only female in the tech department and I talk circles around the others who aren't techs and sometimes even those who are.

An example from earlier today: "Wow, genetic science is just awesome."
The fact that I'm currently in possession of Michio Kaku's book "Hyperspace" and I'm not in high school yet is pretty nerdy I think.

I'm reminded of being a nerd when I compare anything to WoW/Warhammer/sci-fi things or just generally when I talk. LoL I am also a web developer. So, there is not escape for me. =P

Whenever I reference conversations I held on the Escapist to real friends.
I do this all the time.

I feel like a nerd all the time, especially around my family. I make references (to games, movies, memes, whatever) that my nerdy friends would get, but I always get the "Oh Christ where did we go wrong?" stare from my parents and the "I have no idea what just happened" stare from my non-nerdy friends. Around my nerdy ffiends, though, I'm one of the witty ones!
I do this a lot too. My parents always ask me what the hell I'm talking about or they just walk away like I'm nuts.

Quote video games, and internet memes. Confuses most of my friends, and then I have to explain......
I do this frequently as well. It's fun to confuse people.

I was doing a First Aid course the other day, and the first thing you should do if you encounter someone in need of help is to check for danger. So I rolled a D20 that I had in my pocket.

Earlier this afternoon when I saw this image, and sadly got the joke and proceeded to laugh my ever loving ass off. For those wondering, this is the moment when you realize you've been watching waaay to much Star Trek

God damn. I've seen too much Star Trek. On a similar Star Trek nerd level I can never hear "Amazing Grace" played on Bagpipes without thinking of Wrath of Kahn. I crack up laughing every time. This is bad because it's played at funerals and I'm there with my fist in my mouth and tears running down my cheeks.

I was playing Warhammer 40k yesterday with some friends, discussing with my teammate what we should do and why. I began to reference things like ballistics skill, range, and whatever other stats seemed relevant at the time, then realized that I am a huge nerd.
This. I also plan out army lists in lessons. Without a codex.

When I realised that Mary Poppins is a Time Lord and came up with a huge theory supporting the idea.
That makes so much sense it's frightening me...

OT: I generally quote Futurama, the Simpsons and the Big Bang Theory, Star Trek, Star Wars and a plethora of games besides internet memes.
Whenever I watch an "action" film I constantly correct their physics, except for Sci-Fi and Fantasy of course (I only question some deus ex machina solutions there).

Aaaaand while typing this I'm listening to Chameleon Circuit.
...Just don't blink. I said don't blink. Just look directly at them and they'll stay where they are...

When I seem to be the only person alive who notices that the entire music video of Kanye Wests "Stronger" are scenes taken from the 1980's anime movie AKIRA.

I was reading the back of a chocolate packet and saw the calorie content. I then started to work out how much the temperature of 1kg of water would increase if I applied the energy within the chocolate to it. Then I realised that my mind has been ruined by Physics and that I am a nerd^2

I usually reference movies/TV shows/games in conversations. I think I've cut down a bit since most people have no idea what I'm talking about. But if I don't tell them about the despair squid, then who will?

Loads of things.

# Depending on a conversation or what I am doing myself or with other people I will often have obscure references come to mind. Like being at college and just leaving the kebab shop I might say "Autobots....transform and roll out!" in an Optimus Prime-like manner, like it's the most normal thing in the world - with friends laughing (somewhat wierded out no doubt) about it.

# Take internet memes and use them in the real world.

# For thinking that someone at work resembles G-man when I first met them.

# Speaking Japanese at home casually with people not knowing what it means.

# Being on the phone to my German aunt and only being able to think of what to say to her in Japanese rather than German (I learned a lot of Japanese from anime :/)

# Going into deep and complex explanations on how things work or how things are brought about, quickly confusing all those present.

# One day at University after a friend asked why it was still cold I proceeded to explain how the Aphehlion and Perihelion (which I learned from Alpha Centauri) affected the seasons. To which I was asked "Why do you even know about that?!"

# For a period of 2 months not being able to sleep after trying to figure out what causes Time Dilation.

# Currently for a few months thinking on the usage of Pi in regards to whether or not light would bend (and how it would bend) the theoretical fabric of space in the presence of a large-mass object (like a sun such as Betelgeuse or Sirius A). Yeah. Seriously, I have no idea where the hell it came from. It just did :/

# Using the 'That's no moon...' quote for a lot of stuff online and IRL.
