Thought someone with your ideals would agree with it. You know let the stupid people die so that your country doesn't have to bother making laws for every little stupid event that happens, like driving without a seat belt.
I refuse to allow people to die just because they were not aware of the dangers!
It's not that they weren't aware that makes them stupid, its because they still make stupid decisions when they know they shouldn't have. Like a guy drinking ammonia when it clearly says do not drink.

Ok, I have to say I agree to some point... but I also disagree.
Some laws are there for a reason, if some yahoo goes and breaks a law and gets killed so what, eh?
But what if he not only gets himself killed but gets others killed who had nothing to do with that he did?
Making sure these idiots don't do anything stupid is to protect us more then anything.
Would you mind telling us what laws these would be,

With what the OP mentioned if some jackass crashs into me i'll be fine because i always whear my seat belt, and if some guy tweeked out on meth or PCP broke into my house i'm not going to lie and say "i would beat his punk ass down" i'd be less likely to defend my self seeing as how the law would demand that i be able to prove that what ever i did was completely necessary
or face jail time myself,

So as for the topic at hand i would have to agree that there are way to many laws that let the not only stupid but "bad" people survive.

also sorry if it looks like i'm snaping at ya Milo Windby.
Seat belts don't always help though... and what if you were walking on the side walk and you get hit by a drunk?
Also, defending yourself to a judge because someone broke in and threatened you would be easy, no?

All I'm really saying is, Why should we not have these laws? Some of them sound bad, but its whats preventing someone from getting me killed.

Sounds like a solution to the border problem.
The Chinese found the solution illegal immigration a few thousand years ago. You can see the bugger from space. Off topic, I know. Buy hey, c'est la vie.

My point exactly. (A subtle way to say I've been ninja'd)

My parents didn't babyproof their home when they had me. Their reasoning being "so long as it doesn't kill him, he'll learn a valuable lesson."

You know how many times I stuck my finger in a wall outlet? Fucking ONCE.

We've become a nanny state.
You're complaining about people wanting to protect their children?!
What if the shock from the wall outlet killed you? Your parents would not have said "so long as it doesn't kill him, he'll learn a valuable lesson." if they had a 2nd child would they?
I agree with teddy on this one.

In fact, why don't parents just fucking inform their children about the dangers of the world instead of sitting on their asses?
That would require parenting. The biggest problems in this county is 1: Lack of parenting 2: Lack of personal responsibility and I believe the two of them are intertwined. Parents don't want to take responsibility for their kids. So when the kid is screaming "I want this toy gimme gimme gimme!" And the parent gives in. That sets a precedence for the rest of that child's life. Parents figure "Oh he's just a kid. He'll grow out of it. I'll lay down the hammer when he gets older" No. By the time "they get older" you've already lost them. They listened to you when they were little and they let that time slip past them. Now the kids are obnoxious teenagers who don't give a damn what you say or think. And what parenting managed to get into their heads at that susceptible young age? "No one follows through with their threats of punishment and I'm free to go around doing and getting whatever I want."

Teachers know, by kindergarten, which kids are going to go on to college. The signs are there by then. If they're not, it's too late.

How on earth is that relevent to "let the idiots kill themselves off"?
Ham_authority95 brought up parenting and that's something I had some words about as well.

While there are plenty of morons, there are many many more who take no personal responsibility. It's not something that requires stupidity (though that does help). How many times have you seen footage on the news of a criminal being brought to trial with a big smile on his face, assured that he'd find a loop hole and go free. Not an ounce of responsibility for his actions inside him at all with a precedence passed down to him from childhood that he could do whatever he wanted.

People will cry "Oh he's this way because the system failed him." Noo... his parents failed him. And that's not something that's politically correct these days. You're not allowed to imply that there's someone actually responsible for this person being what they are. It's just another way of side stepping responsibility.

I'm all for "The End Justifys The Means" but the benifit of the end must out-wiegh the sacrifice of the means.
How can a person not know the danger when it says in the bottle of ammonia.
[HEADING=1] DO NOT DRINK [/HEADING]
Its common sense

A young person who most likely wasn't familier with things like that wouldn't know.
Knowlage is passed down, otherwise it must be tested.
You only know ammonia is not safe to drink because you were told of the dangers of drinking stuff like that!
Well that's what parents and schools are for (mostly parents). And if they still do it then there stupid.

Exactly, they would be stupid if they were informed of the dangers.
However, the OP is saying we should stop warning people.
Oh I thought he meant that we should abolish the laws and make parents teach their kids.

You rather have the parents warn them instead of a label? I rather rely on people who did test not someone who might not even be home.
