I just started playing it for the first time and I'm completely blown away. The design is amazing, much better than oblivion with its never ending supply of caves. Even the fast travel function is cooler. What genius thought of Silt Striders? I almost blew this game off because of the graphics. That would have been a huge mistake, there's tons of mods for that.

If you haven't bought Morrowind yet drop what you're doing and go to the nearest game store.

Yes..... and the discussion point is?

Although Morrowind threads get points for being about my favourite game.

DO IT.

It's still one of my favorite PC games. Ever. And I don't even have any mods, just the Game of the Year edition (with both expansions). EPIC.

I played this when it first came out, admittedly I was 8, but could never get into it that much; too open I found. Oblivion feels a lot tighter in script to me.

Just so you know, you can beat the game in 10 minutes. No need to bother leveling or doing any side quests, because the geniuses that programmed this never put in any logic to make sure you did various quests or were of a certain level before killing the end boss.

You can find the runthrough on youtube.

I picked up Morrowind a few years ago in a bargain bin in Gamestop. Best deal I've ever made, 10 bucks for hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Enjoy it, it's never as good as the first time. If I could give you one tip it would be to never look at any guides or spoilers and instead discover everything by yourself. Have fun!
edit: god i wish i could play morrowind for the first time again

Who doesn't? The first time you play a game is always the best...

Not really, some games reach their peak after you've played them over and over again and learned everything there is to know. Even if what you said was true, it's especially true for Morrowind so ~heh~

Yes, but nothing beats that "woah" feeling you get when you play a game for the first time. :3

It'd be cool if there was a Wii port for Morrowind with Wii MotionPlus support, but I know it will never happen.

Morrowind is just awesome. I really hope TES5 is more of a return to the way things were in Morrowind rather than Oblivion's very beautiful, very shallow experience.

Yup. It's called not being linear. Sure would be great if games these days tried it.

I still remember being amazed the first time I saw Morrowind's pixel shaded water. It looked so real. And the sky was beautiful as well.

And where would the fun in that be?

I didn't care for Morrowind, to be honest. Maybe I should give it another shot.

What are the graphical mods?

Im really bad when it comes to the modding thing.

Lets just say "theoreticly", I had a pirated version of the game.
Could I still get the graphic upgrade mods? If so, how?

Morrowind is one of my top five ALL TIME games. One of the most immersive experiences ever. I remember getting off the Silt Strider to Balmora, immediately after leaving Seyda Neen. It was night time, and raining, and I had no idea where I was supposed to be going. And I actually felt lost, at night in the rain.

Also, Morrowind kicks Oblivions shiny ass all the way to Elsweyr.

Agreed. Morrowind is a masterpiece, I'm glad you saw the light.

One thing: Boots of blinding speed

Those were the most fun boots ever.
Those were such a rip-off. You couldn't see, so you couldn't judge your speed either. For all you know, you could be moving slower.
