Sure, if you were actually the character. When you're the player watching the speed at which the minimap moves when you're wearing them, you know they work.Captain Pancake said:Those were such a rip-off. You were probably a Nord. Magic resist allows you to resist the blinding effect, too. Get up to 100% magic resist through other gear and potions before you put the boots on, and you won't be blinded at all, even if you switch the other gear off (unless you unequip and reequip the boots).Nevyrmoore said:Also, first time I played the game, they didn't seem to work properly with me. Not sure if it was the PC I was running or a resistance to blinding, but either way, I got the speed, but the blinding never fully worked, it was if I was looking through a pair of sunglasses.
I am all for games that are not linear, but to have no checks and balances in them is too much. I mean, in a RPG to be level 1 or 2 and be able to beat the end boss of a game is a bit too ridiculious. When you spend 40 hours developing your character and you find out you put all that time in for no reason because I could have had the same result after 10 minutes. What's the point in doing any other quests or earning any other items after that?Vuljatar said:Morrowind is just awesome. I really hope TES5 is more of a return to the way things were in Morrowind rather than Oblivion's very beautiful, very shallow experience.
Yup. It's called not being linear. Sure would be great if games these days tried it.Monshroud said:Just so you know, you can beat the game in 10 minutes. How could you have had the same result? Woo, you killed Dagoth Ur. Grats. You've completed about... 0.01% of the game (literally). And you're level 1. And you're just about naked. Now what are you going to do, quit? If so, you never understood the game to begin with.Monshroud said:I am all for games that are not linear, but to have no checks and balances in them is too much. To explore and see what there is to do? If you're going to play Morrowind to try to defeat the end boss within the first 10 minutes and then never play it again afterwards, then you're playing it the wrong way.Monshroud said:I am all for games that are not linear, but to have no checks and balances in them is too much. Same for me. Not that im a bit older, I really enjoy it. My only problem is how you loose fatigue when running. You have to run, the world is too big to walk.Woodsey said:I played this when it first came out, admittedly I was 8, but could never get into it that much; too open I found. Oblivion feels a lot tighter in script to me.
you dont NEED to do to the side quest its just their for more entertainmentMonshroud said:Just so you know, you can beat the game in 10 minutes. Were you an Orc? They have a natural 25% resistance to magic. That, combined with the boots of blinding speed negates the biggest problem in the game, the repetitive and long travel times, though it feels like an odd way of doing it.Nevyrmoore said:Sure, if you were actually the character. I was definitely something. I have no idea what, however, it's been years since I first played Morrowind.BlindTom said:Were you an Orc? They have a natural 25% resistance to magic. Actually I really do love RPG's. In all honesty, I am flaming on a game and I really shouldn't be. I had started to play Morrowind and I was near the end and lost everything when I had my PC crash. I decided to play through it again, doing everything over again. So overall I had over 100+ hours at least invested in this, I finished it and a friend showed me how you can get through the end questline in about 30 mins, then I saw the youtube video which did it in about 10. So "I" felt cheated in that I put a bunch of time in playing through the game a second time, doing the same stuff when I really didn't need to.lizards said:you dont NEED to do to the side quest its just their for more entertainmentMonshroud said:Just so you know, you can beat the game in 10 minutes. overall i think that that way of thinking means that you are not a very big rpg fan but thats your taste
Yes but the beauty of the Bethesda games is that you can do them at your own pace and soak up the world.Monshroud said:Just so you know, you can beat the game in 10 minutes.
