My thoughts exactly man.

Although I did love the ending. It made me sad, and sad endings aren't always bad.

If you consider defeating the Elite 4 the ending in the Pokémon games, then this:

No matter how many times you defeat the Champion, you are recrowned as the region's 'new' Champion. In Pearl I've defeated Cynthia at least eighty times and I have to go through that annoying unskippable dialogue 'woo, yay, you're the Champion -randomly enter Rowan-' every time.

I love the Pokémon series, but they all end in the same way, and it's annoying you can't just skip it and carry on >_<

But it was kind of funny when a mate of mine said that she has to wait through the credits every time, because it was then I finally told her that all she had to do was press the start button when the credits were rolling on the 2nd+ attempt XD

Final Fantasy Tactics. You go through all those trouble to have your best friend stab you in the back and usurp the throne for himself while you just ride off into the sunset with your sister.

I asked that same question, "He shed a single tear"
HE WAS THE BEST ONE IN THE GAME!!!!! WHY GOD! WHHHHHYYYYYYY!

EDIT: although the ending to RE4 was a little bit of a let down, i mean the jetski part was awesome, but the ending sucked, i did however find it amusing how Ashly was trying to make Leon give her some of his white candies, I laughed so hard at "maybe you could do a little over time?"

The original golden sun for GBA

They hop on a boat and sail off. That's it.
I didn't have a problem with it since I knew that a sequel would be released. The end was written with a sequel in mind, and the second game picks up directly where the first left off. GS1 definitely does not stand on its own, though, which is a problem when you don't have the second one.

Newest Prince of Persia. Quick question: how is the situation at the very end of the game any different from the very beginning? The answer: There isn't any difference. You accomplished absolutely nothing, story wise, for the course of the entire game. That's worse then a cliffhanger.

I knew there was a sequel for it because I bought it a couple days before I finished the first one. Still, though, it got an enormous WTF reaction out of me.

An oldie for me, Shadow of Memories.

The first time I completed that little bastard of a game I got the ending where

I've stopped my own death form happening, via some bizarre time travel paradoxes and such, and I'm happy just to be alive, so as the cutscene plays, I lie down on the ground, looking at the sunny sky.

Except that I'm lying in the middle of the bloody road. And some mardy git runs me over.

After all that. I sold it soon after in frustration.

Fallout 3 for sure. Thank goodness they fixed it (kind of) with the DLC. There was this other game for the original Xbox (and I'm blanking on the name) it was a third person shooter, it took place in space and your character had magic. Anyways, it was supposed to be bigger than it was, but since it was just so so no sequel was made.

P.S. If you can remember the name of the game that would be awesome. I totally forget and it's driving me nuts. If it helps, there was a huge sweepstakes going on with this game when it was first released. Thank you!

Any game that requires your character to die at the end. Kind of makes your survival seem pointless. Worst offenders are Fallout 3 and Farcry 2. At least Fallout gives you a choice.

But the worse ending was KOTOR 2. It wasn't finished, goddammmit! Characters that are mysteriously dead, plot points left hanging, and, on the end level, INACCESSIBLE PARTS OF THE MAP. And the entire game was building up to a really epic and deep ending. I didn't buy Mass Effect for a long time because I was afraid of another Bioware cockup.

I kinda felt like that whole game was a "fuck you" to the player.

Worst ending I can think of that someone hasn't said already....

Actually, fuck it, Halo 2 was just a M Night Shaymalan level kick in the balls. Other then that, how about every main series Mario game ever made?
